Very beautiful golf course. Staff was outstanding from bringing our clubs from our car to a cart, to checking us in, to noon lunch snacks. All great. Course was in great shape and very pretty. Greens had a few ball marks and were super fast. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. The forward tees were about 4900 yards which is usually a bit short but with the sand and fescue, it provided ample challenges and was certainly long enough. Carts had GPS and were nice and comfy. Flowers were beautiful. The price is a bit steeper than most public courses in the Twin Cities area but it is lovely. Maybe a special occasion course. read more

Course was in great condition. Fast greens as usual. The change I dislike is the guys/gals who ascend on you at the 18 hole to clean your clubs - without asking. Its also disruptive when you're trying complete one of the hardest holes on the course. I would rather be asked if I wanted my clubs cleaned. Another issue is no pin placement locations. The GPS shows every pin in the middle of the green so you have to guess where the pin is located. This is unacceptable for a course of this price and quality. read more

Enjoyed the course, challenging but fair with some pretty holes. Terrible customer experience with the staff though. l went there because I had a gift card for half off someone had given me. StoneRidge wouldn't honor it saying it was from a promotion years back. I pointed out it didn't have an expiration date but too bad for me. Even if they wouldn't give me break on the cost, ($150.00 per) cover the cart charge or something so I could feel better about the situation. As it is, I will never go back there and everyone I talk to in my two golf leagues will hear about it. By the way, in no world is it worth $150.00 a round. read more

Golfed Stoneridge this week and it was disappointing - the course is not in great shape compared to several other courses in the area that I have golfed recently - it was actually in the worst shape out of all the courses I have golfed. The restaurant on-site, Danny's, I frequent often as they have good food and a very nice outdoor patio, but I won't be teeing off there again anytime soon. And I should mention the gentlemen working in the clubhouse and the starter were extremely friendly and the carts are A+ read more

This is an outstanding golf course. If you live in the Twin Cities, it's worth making the drive out to Stillwater to play. Stoneridge offers great terrain and scenery; the rolling hills and tall grasses are beautiful. It's a challenging course while still being fair off the tee. The condition of the course is well-kept; it has the feel of a high-end course throughout. As with other elite courses throughout the Metro, the cost of playing here has gone up over the years. But it's a fair deal for what you are getting. Also, the clubhouse serves up great food! Our group of 8 guys all raved about the burgers and sandwiches. read more

Golf course is way overrated for the price. Our foursome was not aware of the $180 price per person charge with cart until we arrived To learn about dynamic pricing. The GM was rude and dismissive of request to pay the same $110 charge as our last time at Stoneridge. The course is certainly unique with sand everywhere and very nice, fast greens. The 4 of us are card members at Rush Creek which is much nicer course all around. I personally would rather play other challenging, well maintained courses for half this price like The Meadows, Chaska Town Course, The Wilds, Braemar, and for a 1/3 the price, Deer Run. read more

Arguably the best golf in the Twin Cities. The course is in beautiful shape and the greens are the best I've played all year. My group played 36 holes yesterday (replay rate is $49, so why not?). The day would have been perfect, but there was definitely a difference between the morning round and the afternoon round. If you're playing in the afternoon, expect no bev cart, no ranger, and slow play due to frugal twilight walkers out there. This course shouldn't be a walking course on the weekends, especially if they're not going to put a ranger out there. Unfortunately, we didn't get to finish the last few holes due to darkness. read more

Nothing like paying for a cart and your cart dies on the back nine and the club house says they will be out there with another and doesn't show up with one so you have to walk the rest of the round. Maybe I expected too much for a $100 round. read more

The course was great and in terrific shape. At $109.00 for a weekend rate it was a surprise that range balls were extra. Kind of cheesy for an upscale semi-private course and took away from the overall experience. The pro shop kids didn't mention that range balls were extra which caused another trip to the cart to get cash...they were lazy and poor communicators. Would probably only play it again during the week at a senior rate. read more

Hands down the best golf experience in Minnesota for a public golf course. Championship conditions, incredible staff, world class food and the patio - W-O-W! These greens are easily the best I've played all year and I can't wait until I get back to town to play. Not cheap, but most definitely worth the money for this experience with my brother and my dad. If you're planning a special occasion or want a place to bring clients, StoneRidge is easily the best in the metro. 5+ stars read more

One of my best friends had her wedding reception here and it was a flat out gorgeous venue. they set up an awesome and classy tent next to the building and everything looked really great. service was great, food was delicious. my friends and I ate brunch there the next day and it was also really delicious. I remember the bloody being also very awesome. I would probably never make it back here again because I'm never out in Stillwater... but it was a great one time event! read more

Beautiful, beautiful golf course! The greens and fareways are well-kept, as well as the surrounding plants to make for a picture-perfect golf outing. I was there working at an event that was held at Stoneridge, and everything went so incredibly well because of their excellent staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, and always ready to go the extra mile to make sure our event was a success. If you're looking for a golf club to have an event, I highly recommend them! read more

This course was great. Played 18 and the course was well kept and the cart girl checked on us 3 or 4 times. Guys in the pro shop were friendly and so was the Marshall. Carts were also A+. read more

Fantastic golf course -- absolutely the best public course in the Twin Cities. I'm shocked that I haven't heard more praise for it. The layout is fantastic, the views are beautiful and the conditions were great. Had a fantastic round there. The only con for the course was that a few of the pins were a little silly -- like a three feet from the back corner on a huge green. It's a little on the spendy side, and I wouldn't say that the staff helped to make it more enjoyable or anything. No problems, but the only interaction I had with anyone there was the pro shop guy telling me my total due. That was it, and there was no starter, no bag boy around. I guess I'd never thought about it before, but I like a "Have you played here before?" Or a "greens are quick out there." But I didn't get so much as an "enjoy your round." Oh well. read more

Great course, perhaps the best public course in the Twin Cities metro area. Course is always in terrific shape. Fairways are lush, greens fast and well-kept, challenging golf. Staff is friendly and welcoming. A little pricier than other public courses, but worth it. The Senior Rate includes a warm-up bucket. The White/Green combo tees are good for senior golfers. read more

I was maid of honor in my sisters wedding and this place was absolutely terrible!! Yeah they have good food and a great venue, but the service is absolutely terrible and they were very unresponsive. The wedding coordinater, nick, was extremely hard to get ahold of and left the wedding early and we couldn't get ahold of him when something went wrong! The staff went through people's bags in the men's and women's bridal rooms and stole stuff from them and we never got some of the he items back. There a lot more disappointing things I could vent about but I don't haven enough time... I actually had a friend who was ready to put a deposit down and book this place but after she heard all our horror stories about stone ridge she is now going with a different golf course in Woodbury. read more

Everytime I am there I am struck by the friendliness and efficiency of Nick and his staff. They are quick to help with anything that you may need, and I've sent the same care go into how they interact with the clients. The food is top tier - as good as you'll have in any top end restaurant. BRIDES BEWARE I had my wedding here in June and it was not how anyone should have to spend their wedding day, in tears! Things started going wrong early when I couldn't get ahold of nick, the wedding coordinator ( if you could call him that, he is completely useless) for 3 hours during the set up period in the morning. Vendors were there waiting for him to answer their questions and many of them ended up leaving and thus certain things didn't get done. Nick left my flowers in the sun and half of them ended up dying. Come ceremony time we were told that there wouldn't let anybody golf on the hole behind us, well there was actually a really drunk group of guys golfing the whole during our vows being super loud and ruining some pictures. When we asked the staff to go over and tell them to be quiet they just shrugged. During the reception my bridesmaids found stuff stolen from their clutches (including an iPhone) that we had left in the bridal party changing room! When we asked the cleaning staff where the missing items went they said " things go missing all the time" we tried to call nick to report the theft and he didn't answer. We couldn't find nick the rest of the night he just disappeared and never answered our calls. The staff was extremely rude the rest of the night and one of them actually ended up spilling red wine on a bridesmaid and didn't even apologize and actually denied it! The whole day /night was a disaster, this was the kind of wedding day you see in nightmares. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BOOKING THIS PLACE, you will REGRET IT!!! read more

One of the worst experiences my family has ever experienced. And, we are a pretty easy going, no dramatic and fun family. My daughter had her wedding there this May. From the very beginning the wedding coordinator, Nick, would not return any phones calls, and if we did manage to get ahold if him, he seemed irritated that we were bothering him. I also have many letters from vendors to this effect. He also left our reception at 9:30 pm without informing us that he was leaving. And when we had a problem, no one could get ahold of him -we called his cell phone 4 times between 9:30-12:30am. Even more disappointing is that we requested a meeting with the owner, got his "representative" presented him with all the problems we had, and they didn't even care. To this day they have never even said they were sorry that we felt we had a bad experience. That would have gone a long way for us to forget the fact that our daughter left her wedding reception in tears. Yes, beautiful venue, and pretty good food, but absolutely a horrible customer service experience. read more

Nick (event coordinator) and his staff did an incredible job helping put our vision together! The event center was beautiful and the tent is incredible!! The views the GolfCourse offer truly give the romance and magic you want your guests to feel on your wedding day! In addition, the food and drinks were fantastic! Our guests were blown away with the meal options. The staff was friendly, smiling and attentive to everyone's needs My husband and I have recommended StoneRidge to a handful of friends to use as their wedding venue thus far! Nick was hands on, incredibly easy to communicate with and available the whole day! He made the process simple and was able to recommend vendors to guild us through our planning! We knew going into our wedding day, the great events that Nick and his team put together, but he exceeded out expectation and made every dream come true for us that day! Where do I start. We hosted our wedding at Stoneridge in August of 2014. From the day we stepped in the door to meet with Nick our experience was grand. The back & forth conversations were helpful & prompt, we were able to get the pricing/quotes in spreadsheet form which was wonderful as it allowed for us to play around with quantities of food/drinks etc. We attended two food tastings, as the first one was cancelled due to a conflict with the event space. We had not received notification of the cancellation & arrived with our parents for the tasting, Nick was quick to set us up in the restaurant & had the Chef prepare many options for us to taste it was wonderful. The day of our event was just as great. I was VERY organized on how everything was to be setup, and the staff appreciated this & were able to follow along with the guidelines. Vendors had no problems making their drop offs & were welcomed by the staff. Food was amazing, staff service was great & the compliments we got from our guests were AWESOME! We continue to visit Stoneridge for our anniversary & will continue to do so each year to come! read more
