I went to the bouncy land inside the mall and now I was amazed that they had ball pits and a bunch of jumpers for the kids... the prize is actually not bad however I believe 1hr or less should be enough I got the all day pass and well the kids get bored... they should change the jumpers to obstacle course jumpers, and maybe 1 or 2 games for them besides basketball. I'm sure theres a few low cost ideas they could implement. Overall great idea and helps tire they kids would recommend as a last thing to do since its tiring for the little ones. read more

This Mall is nasty, property management has allowed this place to be one the worst malls in the surrounding areas. They have done very little work to fill the empty spaces throughout the mall. Many of the stores are unbranded making the mall feel like a swap-meet. The exterior is old, parking lot needs to be improved around the entire facility. Landscaping is embarrassing on the north side of the parking lot. We are better than this Downey! read more

Went to Banter, it's a jewelry pop up in the middle of the mall. My experience with this company was horrible. I purchased a $500 gold chain. The chain hook open up and it fell. Luckily I found it. I took it back to get fixed. I was charged $43 to fix. It was replaced but the same thing happen again. Mind you the chain is only taken off to shower. Regardless for $500 dollars you would expect better quality. Went back the second time, got attitude from the assistant manager. She was no help. I asked her what was the $43 for the first time I came to get it fixed. I was told it was warranty. So why was I charged the second time around and this time $60 in less then a year. I payed for it because it was a gift from grandma to my son. So of course I wanted the chain to get fixed. I'm never purchasing from them ever again with there hidden fees. This mall isn't that bad. It has a few pretty good stores that I go to quite often. What I don't like is the food court. I don't think there's enough food variety. All in all, the mall should be renovated. They should also add a few more interesting stores, and maybe even an arcade. That'd be great. read more

This is the closet mall to me. I've been coming here since I started living here. So far, I believe this mall has the potential to remodel or regrow. There's so much space to expand and built it up as good as any other mall. With that being said, it's pretty decent. My family and I go here just to walk around, eat lunch and do a little bit of shopping. We mainly hit the Macy department store, Guess, Express, Crazy8, children place, and other stores that I might run into. The main spot my kids like the most is the kids playground. It's not much but it's where they mingle with other kids their age. Overall, the mall does its job. Keep us entertain, keep us spending money and keep us out of the house. Hahah read more

I think this is the worst mall I have been to. Driving down Firestone, it looked alright. Saw Macys and Sears and JCPenny. Decided to go check it out. Parking at the mall was crazy. People can't park their cars within the lines (do not bring your new car here!) and people do open doors wide and ding your car (mainly families with large families and children running wild in the parking lot). I parked next to a car with bullet holes O_o. With the crazy ass parking, you'd assume this mall is worth something. But NOPE, after stepping foot inside this mall, I felt like I was transformed to a high tech flea market. People not being able to control their children and people with no courtesy and run over your feet with their stroller. Super ghetto. Not to mention.... Macy Home is separate from the main Macys store. Lame. Outside, there were a bunch of tweens loitering and 3 cop cars parked. That isn't the most inviting atmosphere. Lastly, the selection of stores are so lame. I think the highest end store is maybe a Guess? .... possibly Express. Not enough mall chain stores and too many random stores that nobody ever goes into. I honestly don't remember too much about this mall since I've already blocked it out of my head. I high-tailed out of there and headed 7 miles down the 605 to the Cerritos mall. The crowd here makes the mall seem below par. However, the mall itself is pretty average. There are the basic stores if you need to purchase a quick gift for a family member or friend. They have your Penney's and Macy's there if you're looking for some department store items. What about the food court? 2.5 stars Wow, this is lowly rated by other yelpers ! I thought it was a below average mall since there it was pretty much malodorous throughout. It's so funny that other yelpers actually notice the sweat house smell too! The JCPenney's dressing room (see JC Penny Review) was definitely a NEGATIVE THREE stars. This mall actually has those little rides for the tots, gift wrappings, massage stations--that all boosted it up by 0.5 stars. The mall itself is just 2 stars in my mind. It's basically a strip and it doesn't have a good hangout place for those who want to study (Like a Barnes & Noble, Starbucks) that all the other malls have. Me and my family have been to this mall very few times, sometimes to eat only because its the closest to us but sometimes the meet there in the red iron and the teriyaki spot, you can tell it has been spoiled. And i have came here with my son 2x! He loves to go to the play spot by the Khols that mind you is represented by Kaiser Permanent, he has contracted HAND FOOT MOUTH DISEASE both times he has been there. We clean his hands after we play but somehow he still gets it so I deeply assume that play area is not cleaned at all or very often. This place is fairly close to me and I mostly come here for the Stonewood Forest to bring my kid. This mall has really gone off the deep end. I used to come to this mall as a child and then, the mall had pretty good nationwide stores and a full food court. There was a Kelly's coffee, a great Chinese food place, a Great Steak, Bakker'ss cookies, Dairy Queen, KB toys,a funny pizza place near Macy's/Robinson's May (pre 2006) and during those long gone days the mall hosted tons of family events and the mall was very nice. Now, I dread going to this mall. There's barely any stores that are worthwhile, the mall has a funny smell lingering throughout and the bathrooms are unspeakable (I'll leave it up to your imaginations). There's constantly people pushing you, kids being rowdy, rude people ready to fight you over an empty table by the Coffee kiosk and Mrs.Fields cookies. The food court is gross imo and has very limited options (a pieology was supposed to open last year but I guess those plans went south, and a Mexican sushi spot closed down recently). The Sears corridor is depressing as many store fronts sit empty and desolate. Despite these flaws, I still find myself frequenting the mall because it's sort of like a second home in a way. A second grimy, smelly, claustrophobic home. Btw, if any of y'all ever get intense baby fever, a quick visit here will snap you out of it since people let their little ones run amok and lay on the dirty ass floor. read more

This is our local indoor shopping mall so we frequent it quite often. It has a slew of various retailers, a kids play area, family restrooms and a decent food court. You are bound to find whatever you need. They have a stand to take pictures with the Easter bunny all month and during Christmas time, they have a Santa. While we were there on Saturday, the fire alarm went off but no one seemed to worry. The lights flashed and the audible alarm rang for about 10 minutes. There were no messages on the PA system so I asked the workers at the Easter Bunny station and they said it must be a false alarm. We didn't stay long since the noise was too loud for our little one. read more

Security here are useless. I came across an aggressive man that was yelling at me and looked like he wanted to attack me for no reason. I tried to call security direct number more than 2 times but no one answered. Just seeing security for the times I've been here, they have no type of urgency on their surroundings. Don't depend on security if you're in need for help. Your best bet will be calling cops. They might get here faster than the security at this mall. read more

This mall is the worst mall to go. I was forced to come here for a return in a store only at this mall. I used to come here often years ago, but this place is just too small for the amount of people. Parking is terrible and people are very rude here. The main reason I don't like it here is because of the shoppers. Everyone is so messy, rude, and pushy. I wanted out the moment I walked in. Parents don't watch their kids that are running all over people. The mall isn't big, but has the main stores you'll need. I came to this place with one of my friends just hanging out with her. I hadn't ever been in this area so it was all very new.. Everything was very clean and the waiters were very friendly and kept offering to give us more drinks. One of the women (I forget her name) was a very friendly waitress. She kept asking how my food was i was enjoying it etc.... The reason I didn't give it five stars was the atmosphere of the place... Not all of the servers make you feel welcome and there was a few customers who kept staring at my friend and I. They kind of killed the vibe for us and we didn't want to return. They were very loud and obnoxious acting. Hopefully the next time I come here the experience will be very enjoyable. But other than that I loved it! Stonewood Mall is a poor man's Lakewood Mall, the "poor" word is key here due to the fact that this mall is close to borderline low-end. It is part of the trifecta Sisters ala Cerritos Mall and Lakewood Mall. In my opinion this mall is the lowest of the three. I remember coming here in the past, it seems as though this mall never changes. Example,my visit here in 2003 same look and feel it is from my visit here exactly a week ago that is Oct. 13, 2011. Some shops may come and go here but the mall itself needs a face lift, it's outdated. There are some mid-tier shops like Foot Locker, Spencers, Hot Topic etc. etc. but some shops like Pro Image for example feels like a swapmeet space for sports apparel. How ghetto is that? I walked in a Pro Image shop and some chick that works there raised her head like a thug instead of a simple hello. The food court here is limited not much variety. There's really not much to talk about this mall. I will not be back here until when every store here does a liquidation sale, I mean there's really no reason to keep this mall open in this down economy, but until then when pigs fly. read more

Avoid this mall at all cost, we've lived around here for 15 yrs and we try to avoid this place as much as we can. The mall itself is kinda okay, a mall is a mall with same stuff you can buy anywhere. It is more of the atmosphere, service and experience what separates from other malls. I used to go to this mall all the time, because I went to school across the street and the students would just travel to Stonewood in droves after school to hang out and loiter. Now, I only go here if I don't have a choice. First, you will notice the outdated sign and the slightly tacky glass block walls. Upon entering the food court, the place just has a dingy, unkempt air to it, even though they tried to remodel a few years ago. The layout is linear, with some sections branching out, usually with a department store at the end. It's pretty small. They have a typical selection of stores, somewhat less than most malls. I always find the selection at these places to be lacking, though. Their Macy's feels more like a Marshalls; really disorganized racks with a kind of bargain hunting atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! I've seen a lot of malls, and by far this is the crappiest mall I've been to. read more

I was intrigued by this mall after months of hearing it's hype and people around me constantly raving about it. I had no reason for coming here to shop since I had the Carson Mall and South Bay Galleria closer to me. I finally decided to drive the distance and visit this overly hyped mall. I noticed that the mall looked small from the outside compared to other malls that I've frequented but still I found a parking spot and went inside through the Firestone entrance. I was instantly underwhelmed upon entry. After a bit of walking I found stores that were worth going inside of such as Hot Topic, Spencers, Forever 21, Guess, JcPenny, and a couple of others. The food court was pretty good. They had endless options and lots of variety to choose from. They're most popular being mongolian food. What saves this mall is the Buffalo Wild Wings, in my opinion. Stop by if you're within close distance but I don't recommend going out of your way to shop at this mall. Theres definitely better options out there. read more

I went to this shopping center just because a store at Brea Mall is out of stock on a pair of shoes I like. My first impression of the center was not that great! It looks really old and gives me a sad mood (for some reason). The whole center is way too small for the amount of people in there! I literally can't walk since a lot of small kids are running around, falling, etc. and their parents are not even watching. I felt really bad for them. I noticed a really strong smell of popcorn in the center and it really annoys me. It's not that I don't like popcorn but because the smell is way too strong!!!! I can smell it even in a store and it seems like it is the smell of the whole center and if you are inside, then you will have smell it! Parking is not that special but there were not a lot of people so parking spots are plenty and you don't have to walk that far! Overall, I don't like the mall and will stick to Brea Mall for better experience! read more

Stonewood Mall's idea of improvement is to make it more like South Gate and put in swap meet style cheesy trinket peddlers to make up for all of the stores that do not want to take the risk of implanting themselves in to the "Wrong" demographic. I have seen times when this mall was new, had fountains, when the design was relevant to the time period, now it is just a relic of the 1990's style and the large burden of space it takes up. Most of the areas here are simply stores that will not fail, clothing stores, fast food places, trendy shoe stores and the plethora of Cell Phone stores. Another thing that reminds you how terrible this mall is, is that sign near the food court that says to lock your car doors and take your keys with you, you know, the one with the security camera on it, and the words "Bait Car". How damn cheesy does this mall get. Now you've doubled being warned that all the mall really is, is just some magical illusion that some car burglar wizard created to steal your car and all of it's belongings, hey might as well create a "mall" to steal all the cars. The only two improvements that may make the mall one iota better is the fact that it got a BJ(s) which almost seems surreal in placement to this mall in this city. The next improvement is a repair shop for fixing broken phones, the poor working mans middle finger response to Apple Care, 75 dollars and a new screen that day. Still, every time you get something nice in this mall, it gets turned into some crappy swap-meet grinded down piece of inadequate garbage. I am embarrassed of this mall, yet it is in proximity to me. We have these high end stores like "Guess" that have stores across from them that look like a cheesy wannabe version of them. I always think of the Macerich corporate execs cringing in disgust when they gloss over the Stonewood Mall. I can hear them saying about making a cheaper solution to something nice. I can hear them say, "Oh since Electronic Boutique is gone, why don't we give the lease to this Trinket store called NEXT!". It always is that little thing that reminds you, that even though you are the nicest thing surrounded by 8 hell holes, you yourself cannot ever have anything nice. Because the people keep things crappy here by shoplifting, they let their kids run around forcing security to babysit them and call in code 2s when they get lost and get made when you tell them to watch them. I used to think some Executive could fix all this, but no, this mall is a Ghetto and there is a mini battle where people want nice things, nice shops, nice new renovations, and the ghetto side wants another swap meet, sadly, the Ghetto side always seems to win. read more

This is the nearest mall to me every time I'm in town, so I always come here. It's a very small mall and makes me feel extremely claustrophobic. It's always packed, including the stores. I can't deal with slow moving packed crowds. The place needs some serious upgrades too, it's outdated. Think of the rundown Boulevard Mall in Las Vegas, same layout too. If they were to renovate and add a variety of stores and restaurants at the food court, it could have some potential. read more

I just want to give a shout-out to the Santa at Stonewood Mall. I was there last Tues November 13, 2018 around noon. walking with three developmentally disabled adults . When they saw him they began to jump excitedly. He waved to them and called them over to him. He had a conversation with each of them. He gave them a small gift and shook their hands and even hugged one who threw her arms around him. He never flinched and stayed in character. This warmed my heart because in my line of work, I sometimes see people discriminate against them. This mall hasn't aged well at all. Having grown up in Downey my whole life, I remember this was THE place that my parents went for holiday shopping. An era of Kay-Bee Toys, Electronics Boutique and Mervyns. Fast forward to today; it just doesn't hold up. After having grown up and going to malls all around the Southern California area, comparing these malls makes Stonewood feel more on the "ghetto" side (for a lack of a better term). Sure you have your major department stores like JCPenny and Sears, but if you're looking for anything aside from clothing or shoes then your options are limited. There are PLENTY of cell phone dealers with their own island shops, but even their selection can be limited. Best Buy Mobile has a larger variety, but at that point you might as well go to the full Best Buy store at the Downey Landing. Compare to malls like the Buena Park Mall or any of Irvine's shopping centers...and you really start to see the difference. My opinion is that the mall needs a SERIOUS renovation. Let Westfield malls buy out the place, completely gut it, and redesign the place to be booming. Add a second (or third!) floor of shops, get a larger variety of shops (More electronics! Apple Store, Microsoft Store, Sony Store...) Even though I've been a Downey local since birth, I'd prefer hopping on the freeway and going to Buena Park Mall or any other mall than Stonewood. I find myself going to malls elsewhere and thinking "God, why can't WE have something like this?" :/ read more

WORST mall ever. Even their benches suck. I used to think Montebello Town Center sucked before I came here. Everything is outdated and they are currently playing outdated 80s music over the speakers too to remind you of this. It's not all bad though, sometimes they have vendors set up in the middle of the mall selling cacahuates and all kinds of stuff you can find at your local swap meet or Walmart parking lot. Dope Mall! They have most major department stores. They also have a great variety of food spots attached to the mall ... They just opened a Buffalo wild wings so it cracks pretty hard up in this piece ... I typically go to Macys, or Kohls ... The inside has a nice flare to it .. and its SWARMING and I mean SWARMING with MILFS! I like this mall because I dont see to many ghetto gangster crews trying to get crazy...
