General - Our family stayed here for one night coming home from our spring break trip touring Kentucky. We basically stopped for a pit stop and to stretch our legs (and soak in the hot tub while the kiddos swimmed). Location - Great spot close to the river. There are a couple restaurants and shops close by and within walking distance and you are also very close to the Vibrant Arena and Rock Island. Rooms & Building - My family enjoys Stoney Creek for their upnorth theming and feel. The rooms are always done up nice and are usually pretty large in size. This place did not disappoint. The room came with a fridge, microwave, and a small little bar area. Lots of space to spread out and eat pizza in our room for dinner. Amenities - The pool area is always fun at Stoney Creek. This location had a indoor/outdoor connected pool and the hot tub was large and could fit plenty of people. It was exactly what we wanted in our stay. Food - There is a bar onsite but we made our own drinks and ate pizza. The breakfast buffet was good and offered a lot of cold and hot options. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - As stated before, if there is a Stoney Creek in the town we are staying at, we probably will stay there. For the price vs. quality & experience, you can't find much better. Not a bad hotel but some of the staff are extremely rude and ignorant. Stayed here for a soccer tournament with 40 other families. Threatened by staff multiple times that they would kick the entire group out and we were given curfews of 830pm during Labor Day weekend. If your kids were outside of the room they must be with an adult or you would be asked to leave. Families with reservations that were paid for arrived with no room as they checked in late in the night and staff turned them away even though they had a reservation and the hotel had charged them already. Come here for peace and relaxation only. Do not bring young kids and soccer/sports teams unless you want to be threatened multiple times with being kicked out for laughter and playing. Also our room door wouldn't lock and smelled like cigarettes. Would not stay here again! Grandparents welcome, families with kids need not apply. read more

Stayed here for a night after a long travel first we were charged fees that should have never been (people check your receipts) we got a pet fee when we didn't even have any pets. The girl that charged us wrong said it was fees for something else and not it was not. She was trying to charge us extra $50 for something we did not asked or even have. The sofa bed was dirty and smelled awful. We had kids with us and we took them swimming and I have never felt so dirty in my life. The pool was so cloudy, there were bugs all over that pool thankfully they were dead but clearly no one cleaning that place at all. The bathroom near the pool smelled moldy it was really uncomfortable to stay there. Bring water shoes the concrete in and out of the pool is so cracked you are stepping on chunks of concrete all over. The communication between the staff is zero to none we had to be reimbursed for being charged at the wrong card, and then we were overcharged, then finally charged at the right account after 20 min of trying to fix something that could have been avoided if they just communicated with each other. The only good thing from this place was the girl in the kitchen the next morning she was real sweet and nice, very helpful. It's was our first time stopping in the area well we know never to make that mistake again. Definitely don't recommend unless is a last resource. read more

When we were told "You just need to leave" by the front desk attendant at midnight with our 9 and 3 year old...it said everything you need to know. Our room never cooled down and the air conditioner was so loud my kids were still awake. We took a video of the noise and went to the front desk to ask if we could move to a new room. The response was, "i already called my general manager and we have no open rooms. You just need to leave". We understand things happen with air conditioners, tvs, showers, etc. We understand they did not have open rooms. But how to you just tell someone to leave instead of offering rectification...not an apology, not an offer to refund our room, ZERO customer service. So at midnight, we packed up our kids and drove 3 hours home. We would have stayed elsewhere, had we not lived only a few hours. Just to toss the cherry on the cake...the pool had gravel, rocks and dirt in the bottom, with a cloudy appearance. You could visibly see things floating in the water that looked like chunks of hair but unsure what it actually was. The hot tub was out of order, and looked yellow...again we understand things happen. We were here for our grandfather's 85th birthday and thought we would have a great experience...but were sadly mistaken. Unfortunately we also know we were not the only one with problems. read more

If you are looking to stay here, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. Rooms were not clean, front desk staff was not helpful, hotel is right next to the train tracks so you are awoken by train horns in the middle of the night, right next to the bar district so people spill out and you can hear them because of the way the hotel is situated with your windows being right outside of the bars. We had guests running up and down yelling at 4:00 AM and staff did nothing about it. We were in town for a VB event, had 9 families staying and made us pay $100 to use an empty room for two hours so we could order pizza and eat as a team. There is absolutely no reason you should choose this hotel with so many other option within 10 minutes. This place is awful, don't waste your money! read more

The hotel itself is nice. We had two issues. We booked as a Christmas gift for our kids for a night away. We wanted a heated pool as advertised. The pool was freezing cold, and we couldn't swim. They said it was supposed to be at 80 degrees, but it was ice cold. Our tub drain in the room did not work either. The tub was dirty if someone had cleaned it properly they would've known the drain wasn't working. There was a busted balloon in the corner by the nightstand. The bunk bed room was decent, just due to these issues we didn't get what we paid for. We drove and hour and half for a fun getaway. It was just ok. Was supposed to stay here for an extended stay but after looking over our beds I quickly checked out!!! We were in a cabin that had the kitchen available, which was not very impressive to begin with. Seemed very dark and unwelcoming. So once we saw the room we were expecting a full beds. After all we told them we had kids. They had a pull out couch and a a full bed. Ok didn't like that so bring be to my room check up! I always bring my own clorox wipes and disinfect the room myself and check the beds. The pull out coach was covered in stains looked like blood/ bed bug marks. Not sure but yuk!!! It was on the bedding as well!! No way!! We checked out immediately!!! read more

We had another wonderful stay at Stoney Creek Hotel in the Quad Cities. The front desk staff was great but we especially clicked with Elisabeth, she was very personable and fun to chat with. They have a nice but simple little bar with great TVs, pool table and your favorite drink of choice, Tony and Mario were fun to chat with and provided us with great service during our stay. We are from out of town ourselves and anytime we come in to town to visit this is where we stay. So when we decided to have our wedding in the Quad Cities it seemed only natural to choose Stoney Creek for our wedding block for our guests. They were so easy to work with and kept upping our block when it would sell out to accommodate the cost they originally blocked for us. This was also the weekend before the John Deere Classic so they did not have to do that. But we are so grateful they did. We worked with Taylor for setting up and reserving and everything was seamless. We even had a couple last minute guests that decided to stay overnight and she was able to help us squeeze them in even during a sold out night! She also kept us up to date on who had booked rooms and how many were still available so we could follow up with guests we needed to. Very helpful! As for the rooms, they are always clean and comfortable but let me tell you..if you're gonna splurge for a wedding or any special occasion definitely do the luxury themed suite! We didn't get a chance to enjoy it because we were running around from one wedding event to the next but we are going to make a point to definitely book the room in the future when we can actually relax and enjoy the stay. It was very large, beautiful and comfortable! They do not provide a shuttle which is something we were looking for to get our guests to our venue but they did have a great referral and were flexible in allowing them to transport guests from the hotel to the venue. Spent time here twice in the last few months the first was in a king room with whirlpool,clean room and comfortable bed. My girlfriend enjoyed spending time in the pool and hot tub. The second time went a few nights in a themed suite Cody's hideaway. It had a comfortable bed and my girlfriend enjoyed the whirlpool (she always does it seems ) both rooms were clean and we enjoyed our stay in both rooms. The breakfast both days were hot and tasty sausage eggs toast and sausage gravy and biscuits. The only problem I found was they didn't have anymore stoneycreek merch in their gift shop,just snacks. I was looking forward to buying some mementos of our stay there. We will definitely return to stay at this wonderful hotel. Most recently, the sink drips and some of the other amenities appear to need updating, so this would improve the aesthetic. I have stayed in this hotel many times but this time our service was excellent all around. I was in a friends wedding that was here and all the the staff really stepped up and was so accommodating. But my biggest shout out was the front desk employee Cody. He was so nice. So helpful. Just so happy. He was so welcoming when I arrived. I was one of those annoying guests who needed a last minute change in rooms and I also needed an early check in. He was just so cool about everything and never got annoyed with my "and can you's" So overall my stay was great. My room was great. Big and very spacious. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. I stayed in Room 110. I'm definitely a customer for life! Only con was that The bartender in the main lobby bar was pretty grumpy. She always is. No small talk. Not friendly. Never even smiled. The only 2 positives were the location and the room. My husband splurged on a "cottage" that had a small kitchen (that we didn't use) and a sitting area with a coach and a recliner. We had reservations for a dinner theater New Year's Eve and since we were about 2 hours from home, we thought we'd treat ourselves to an overnight stay. So now the bad - checked in and were sent to the wrong room. Went to hot tub that should have been called the polar plunge - not warm and the pool was worse. So we go up to shower before dinner- no hot water there either. Talked to the front desk who said, hot tub had been accidentally shot off and that it was "fixed", said he'd checked it when he closed the area for the night and it was 90 and that the shower issue was due to one of their hot water heaters wasn't working and was being replaced next week. So we come down for breakfast in the morning (8:30) and there was hardly any food- 1 carton of yogurt, handful of oranges, no meat and cold French toast. Went to the hot tub, thinking at least it will be hot! Nope, it was colder than the night before. Went back to the room - no hot water so we dressed and went home. This may have been a nice hotel 10 years ago but needs a serious refresh and replacement of things that don't work. Very disappointed. read more

I would have given this hotel a better rating but I had a situation in the hotel. I called corporate to ask to have someone call me back to talk about it and no one ever did that was 3 days ago. I also called the actual hotel twice to have a manager call me back and no one did. As much money as I paid for the theme suite, I should have at least received a phone call rather they agreed with what I was saying or not. As far as the sweet it was just okay. They said before that they had a remodel and it is really barely noticeable. I will not stand this hotel again due to the pure fact that management disregards their customers! Highlight of our stay was definitely the room, we splurged and got the king with whirlpool that is out in the main room. It worked great and filled up fast. There was plenty of hot water to keep it toasty for as long as we wanted. The bed was a normal firm mattress but the pillows were really bad and all 5 of them needed thrown away. Mini fridge and the Keurig were very nice to have. Everything in the room seemed very clean, it was nice to have a window that opened as it was a 60 degree day in February! Unfortunately, most of our interactions in the common spaces were not the greatest. Check-in was brusque, we weren't asked if we had visited this location before, were not told about any amenities. Bar service was slow and overpriced, plus some type of food was being prepared in a back alcove that made the room smell like burnt metal. read more

Glad to see they still have my favorite amenities: Terra Pure Green Tea. Love the products and the bottles are perfect for travel/refilling. Stoney Creek is one of the few hotels left that likes customers to checkout at the front desk. I'm a fan of this "old world" custom. Like all of the lodge-y touches throughout the hotel including water/stone/deck patterned carpet. It's the little things, ya know? They changed their pet policy a few years back and now only accept dogs 50lb or less. Its regrettable that they made this rule. It might be better if they noted certain breeds (Great Danes, for instance) that they preferred not visit the hotel. But as any large dog owner will tell you, large dogs are generally quieter and more docile than their small (usually yappy) counterparts. Maybe dogs can be certified as well-behaved in the future so arbitrary weight cutoffs won't be needed and large dog owners won't need to put their large dogs on diets before walking into a Stoney Creek. I know there is a better solution out there! read more

This hotel may be ok if you have children and pets.... However, this was our experience: 1. Electronic keys do not work properly. Due to age of the system, we needed to have the key cards reprogrammed and needed to use 2 cards at a time to enter our room. Several guests we spoke with had this issue as well. 2. The elevator broke and was not available during or stay. 3. When booking our room, we requested extra blankets In our room. This was not accommodated, so we contacted the front desk after settling in our room. Even several hours later the request was not completed. So later, i personally went to the front desk to obtain The blankets. In the interim 2 light 'bedspreads' were delivered to our room! Really? 4. No TV channel guide or local restaurant guide for food delivery. 5. Limited towels for 2 guests in one room. Needed to again go to front desk to obtain what turned out to be small towels. Not bath towels. 6. Bathroom exhaust fan was not working. 7. Room heater/ air conditioner worked poorly... erratic. 8 During tornado emergency alert that most guests received on their phones, there was no overall guidance from the hotel as to where the guests should go for safety. Seemed guests guiding guests versus hotel personnel guidance. Di your research. We stayed here as meeting other family members at this hotel to celebrate an event. I am sure we could find a much nicer hotel for the money we paid for our room. read more

Stayed here for one night because the hotel I normally stay at was fully booked. I liked that the hotel is downtown and that it has restaurants that will deliver to it. They have very friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. The downfall of this place are that at 4:00 am a train went through downtown and it sounded like it was in my room! So loud! I had a handicapped room (I am not handicapped) and when I took a shower, it basically flooded the bathroom and it took all the towels to make it acceptable. The bed was also hard for my liking. The decor can be charming but I feel like it will quickly be outdated. The breakfast was ok but nothing spectacular. I will still opt to stay elsewhere. read more

I let hubby select the place to stay for his graduation weekend and next time "I'm" selecting the place. What hubby did not realized was this place is for conventions and pet friendly. They stated on their website hot breakfast, that's if you consider sausage and egg patties as hot breakfast. You get a better breakfast from McDonald's. Our room was on the second floor. We arrived on a weekend when their convention hall was occupied. Friday night (the night we arrived), a drunk woman and her friends woke us up on around midnight. The drunk girl's friend was threatening to call the police. Saturday night, again midnight, we were rudely interupted by stompings from the room above us. A bunch of teenagers were running in and out of their room. And Sunday morning, we were wakened by a dog barking from the room next to us at 6am. We pounded on the wall to signal the dog owners. They finally took the dog out. If you want a place to have a peaceful sleep for your visit, go down a couple of blocks down to the Radisson. They have a better rating and they also have TGIFriday next door. Our next visit, we are definitely staying at Radisson. read more

This place is great! Modern rustic feel with many amenities. Great for kids as it has a wonderful indoor/outdoor pool, lots of stuffed wildlife to look at, small fountains, free breakfast and more. Perfect location in downtown moline, very close to river, bars, restaurants and john Deere pavilion. Room was larger than average and bathroom was spotless. Only wish was that they had more bathroom hooks or one of those strings you run across the shower to dry things on. We are a family of four and there was only one bathroom hook so made to tough to find a place for towels, swimsuits, etc. they do have a bar that serves some limited food. Every person I spoke to (except management because they refused my request to speak directly to management) attempted to push their mistake back on me, and the front desk attendant modeled absolutely no training in appropriate customer service. The hotel has an interesting decor. They allow pets, which is a major PLUS to travelers that like to bring their pets along. The breakfast is decent, yet if you don't ask them to fill food that is out they won't. The housekeeping staff is loud and really needs some customer service and cleaning training. They push their carts along the hallway yelling to each other and laughing at 8 am in the morning. You could hear them down a really long hallway. When asked if they could keep it down. They said sorry and started talking in Spanish and kept laughing. It didn't get any quieter. They left empty bottles and open cans of soda on the night stands. Empty wrappers were left on the hutch. They never replaced the ice bag and they only give you one ouch of coffee that makes only 1 decent cup of coffee. When I asked for more I was told I could get coffee in the lobby. The hotel held a wedding one of the nights that we were staying. All of the reception guests had great parking and the hotel guests were relegated to parking outback by the alley in a dark area. They should have hotel guest only parking. We also had the pleasure of having to share the hotel with several kids and teenagers that were in the area for a baseball tournament. While. The parents were in the bat getting sloshed the kids were running around screaming and making noise in the hallways and in the lobby. The hotel staff did nothing to prevent/curb the excessive noise. On a positive note, the hotel is in a good location. The front desk manager Lenny is awesome and very attentive. The check in was smooth and the front desk staff during the day was great. Maybe they could train their housekeeping staff in the art and skill of hotel customer service. If you are looking for a good quality hotel that is comparable to a 3 star Marriott or Hilton property this is it. As long as you stay during the week. If you are staying here over a weekend. You would have better luck staying at a cut rate hotel and getting the same type of service. read more

For the outrageous price I expected way more. The room I got accommodated at least 4. There was only 2 towel sets, 1 bar of soap. It had faulty lighting (the ceiling light and 1 table lamp kept flickering). The Inn is located close to railroad tracks, so at 7am we woke up to a train horn blasting. My son said his room had a really old hair dryer and noticed mine looked new. He tested it and it didn't even work. There were no flyers with things to do around the area. The carpet looked hundred years old. The continental breakfast was sparse. There were a lot of customers and the kitchen couldn't keep up with the demand. There was only 3 small boxes of cereal and no milk. I wanted scrambled eggs and when a batch came out I would say there was only enough for about 6 people. The one star is only because I couldn't give it zero stars. I do NOT recommend this place. read more

Horrific management. I won't stay here or host any more events here because of how they treat their employees. I tell my friends and family the same thing. The turnover rate is incredibly high, and there is a reason for that. We used to hold events here and loved one of the managers, and she eventually left. We have loved the last two conference center managers who were either fired or quit because of the incompetence of upper management. As a customer no one wants to hear upper management talk to their employees the way that they do. I have sent an email to their head of sales and to their general manager and guess what? I never heard back. I wonder who they will blame that on now that all of the good people are gone. read more
