Joshua and his team allow pets in this room, but there were no lingering odors and the jacuzzi tub was comfortable for two and super clean. The outdoor area was very inviting with lots of places to relax from two porch decks to a fire pit. The historic neighborhood of Montford is idyllic and only a pleasant 20 minute walk from downtown Asheville. Finally, the food. Joshua is a star chef and his three-course breakfasts were the collective highlight of our visit to Western North Carolina. By the third day, we couldn't wait to see what foodie paradise awaited us for each course. You can't go wrong with Applewood.

One of the co-owners, Josh, is an artist and magnificent pianist who was kind enough to play for us while we were there. He is also the chef who prepares 3-course gourmet breakfasts everyday which are creative as well as delicious. The majority of the produce they use is from their organic gardens in the back. Cash, the other co-owner, is the genius behind their landscaping gardens. If you like porches, this is your place - there are at least 4 of them & one has a porch swing. This inn is filled with gorgeous antiques and attention to detail. You are very close to downtown yet are located on a nice quiet street so you get the best of both worlds. The addition of a heated mattress pad was a thoughtful touch that added an extra level of comfort. The shower experience was outstanding, with plenty of hot water and a refreshing waterfall showerhead. Despite the chilly 23° weather, everything stayed warm thanks to the user-friendly pellet stove. The hot tub, set at a perfect 104°, provided a truly relaxing experience. Additionally, the soak tub next to the bed was a delightful luxury. Every single detail that could have been thought of was. The place is decorated so perfectly and thoughtful. I was super excited to find a blue tooth speaker for music. What made our stay even more special was the owners, Tom and Cris, who went above and beyond to show us their farm and introduce us to all their animals. Their hospitality made us feel welcome and added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit. This was our first time staying in an eco-Dome, and it was a definite 5-star experience. I don't think we've stayed in a better place while attending a wedding before...other than our own wedding, of course :) Callie and Dave were so friendly and caring. We felt very at home with them as our hosts. RiverDance was the perfect spot for our group too. We stayed with some newly acquired "friends" of the bride (like us) and we all had plenty of space to get to know each other without invading each other's space. The views are incredible too. We had so much fun returning from wedding events to just hang out together. I would recommend RiverDance to anyone who is visiting the Marshall / Hot Springs area. I know we will be back :)

The manager, Christy, went out of her way to make certain that we had an extraordinary stay. The house itself is full of Victorian era furniture. It has three floors. The first day we stayed in a room on the second floor. The second night we stayed in the downstairs room called the A. Reese room. It has its own private entrance and two bathrooms. It was so wonderful. We had free breakfast both days that included bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, granola, and of course, coffee or tea. Use of a small refrigerator and microwave. We had the very best experience! We will definitely go back again!

The good and bad…read more.. First and foremost the staff was great! Christy and Sue were attentive and friendly every interaction. They also accommodated my wife's food allergy. So please know this is not a reflection of the on-site staff. Now for the not so good. The breakfast was pretty much a continental breakfast. I have had very similar at several chain type hotels. Yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, bagels, boiled eggs, and bread. The cookies put out in the afternoon and cider were both delicious! The property sits on a main street I believe near a hospital so sirens were heard throughout the day and night. The room (Garden Suite) was a little small and the bed was pretty squeaky when ever you sat on it or turned over in the night. The TV remote also was a pain to operate. We also enjoyed the sitting area and the porch for sipping hot drinks and chatting with other guests during the evening. I am not saying it is a bad place to stay or that I regret the stay, but I just didn't feel that it stood up or out against other B&Bs we have stayed.

We stayed in Claudette, where we enjoyed a comfortable king canopy, a private bath with luxurious towels a beautiful overlook of the property and if I fail to mention the automatic espresso machine, I will be doing a disservice. The property is gorgeous, the gardens lovely with plentiful cozy seating on the deep set porch stretching the perimeter of the home, providing optimal viewing for an evening firefly show. While Paul modestly described the four course gourmet breakfast as, "just breakfast", I assure you, it was not! I'm including pictures of one morning's fare. We were treated to what I can only describe as masterful culinary experiences. Each served on fine china, crystal and silver. We felt like royalty and were treated as such! As if all of this were not enough, Paul and Mirlin themselves, were the highlight of our stay. We may have arrived as guests, but I feel we left as friends. We cannot wait for our next opportunity to return.
