The view from the porches overlooking the mountains, canyon, and river are truly spectacular and RiverDance has the rockers, over-stuffed chairs, and porch swing to help you experience its sunrises, sunsets, and changing cloud patterns. The two suites - Tree Tops and River Rock - are spacious, clean and tastefully decorated with countless details to provide a warm and relaxing atmosphere, at a modest price that is unbelievable for the quality. The fact that there are only two suites insures that guests are NOT lost in the crowd as in larger B&B's, and yet, you can be completely private and alone if you prefer. What makes RiverDance stand out however are the warm, relaxed and fun personalities of its owners - Callie and Dave Wellendorf. Whatever you want, or whatever you need, is their priority while you stay with them and their genuine desire is to make your experience at RiverDance the best it can be. They are well informed about the best restaurants, hiking trails, area recreation, and driving directions and readily share their knowledge, maps, and pamphlets when asked. River Dance is AWESOME! We loved the views. The property itself is at the top of a residential neighborhood, but you really feel like you are in the mountains. The house is magnificent and the rooms are immaculate, private, spacious and very comfortable with all conveniences of home if only your home was in such a magnificent location. The owners, Dave and Callie are very accommodating, providing perfect directions and helpful information and suggestions for exploring the towns and trails in western North Carolina. The location is close to restaurants and shopping as well as downtown Asheville and the local attractions. Callie is wonderful to work with and makes you feel so welcome. The hosts even provided a basket filled with yummy snacks to enjoy while there. From making the reservations to checking out, everything went smoothly. They were extremely prompt and thorough in all their communications and were wonderful "hosts" - I wish a typical hotel had half their thoughtfulness and attention to detail! We were impressed with the care and attention that Dave and Callie had taken to see that we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Best B&B experience we have ever had! My wife and I stayed at RiverDance in the RiverRocks Suite and it was great. Beautiful views right out the window, the sound of crickets and the burbling water of the creek to lull you to sleep at night. There's a kitchenette downstairs to keep food in, Callie makes a delicious breakfast and makes her kitchen open if you want to do your own cooking, and the house is absolutely beautiful. The pine/exposed wood creates a feeling of a mountain retreat, and with the gorgeous view it's the perfect experience. They have DVDs, WiFi, and a mountain of books if you just want to escape and be lazy. If not, Hot Springs is about 10 minutes away and offers a small amount shopping, the Mineral Water springs and spa, and the Appalachian Trail runs right through the town. Lots of hiking, rafting/tubing, and mountain biking to be had just minutes away. Callie and Dave are gracious hosts who are interested in their guests, but strike the perfect balance between attentiveness and privacy. The view from the hot tub is amazing. We just spent the most relaxing weekend we've had in some time at River Dance! Dave and Callie have created an incredible Bed & Breakfast with an amazing view! It is so easy to relax as you sit on one of the beautiful porches and admire the view, sit beside the outdoor fireplace and become mesmerized in the flames, soak in the hot tub while looking out over the mountains, rock in one of the rocking chairs while listening to the sounds of nature and the babbling stream below, or simply resting in your room looking out the windows at the incredible scenic view. Callie and Dave frequently checked to make sure we had everything we needed, offered their kitchen and grill for our use, and made great recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area. It was a great place to get away from the business of our everyday lives and still have easy access to Hot Springs, hiking trails and rafting. We can't wait to go back again! "Much better than any other Bed and Breakfast we've experienced!" Reviewed December 11, 2011 RiverDance was a wonderful place to stay while visiting our son over a long Thanksgiving weekend. Callie and Dave went above and beyond what we normally expect from a Bed and Breakfast experience. Their home is beautiful and the views from the outside deck and from the large windows inside are amazing. Callie always made sure we had everything we needed: soda, bottles of water, snacks, and even a card table and chairs for our family to play games. We stayed in the lower level of the house and had plenty of room to share the space with our son and his wife in the evenings. While staying at RiverDance we explored the little towns of Marshall and Hot Springs, as well as Asheville. One of our favorite "day trips" was driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway and marveling at the gorgeous views. Since our son lives close to RiverDance, we look forward to staying there again and visiting with Callie, Dave, and Midge! read more

Not only is this home beautiful and the views phenomenal, the personal care and service from Dave and Callie are top notch. They went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were met, even attending to the "little details" like changing the dining room tablecloth to a red leaf print to compliment our fall foliage getaway and our wedding colors for our ceremony nearby on Max Patch Mountain. They offered helpful suggestions for activities in the area and helped to coordinate additional housing nearby for our extended family to stay during our wedding weekend. We booked this B&B more than a year in advance and planned our entire fall trip around it. We are so glad that we did. Our wedding weekend was everything we hoped for, in large part because of our stay with Dave & Callie. We will be back again! read more

Riverdance is perfection, with its beautiful scenic view of the mountains and very gracious and helpful host and hostess. It was the perfect spot to spend our 20th anniversary. Our time at Riverdance was great for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation, whether reading quietly on the deck, spending time in the hot tub, talking by the fireplace, or taking a hike on the nearby Appalachian Trail, it seemed like a home away from home. If you want to go out for the day or night, Riverdance is located just 15 min from Hot Springs and 30 min from Asheville. It is an amazing place to reconnect with your spouse or bring the whole family. We could not ask for anything more. Thank you, Callie and Dave, for the wonderful experience! This was the best bed and breakfst that my wife and I have stayed in. The owners were great and very accommodating. My wife has a disability and they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. The suite downstairs was very comfortable. The views from the room and from the deck were spectacular. We were there the first weekend of December and the house was decorated tastefully for Christmas. Our breakfst was enjoyable and I believe they would have prepared anything that we asked for. My wife and I are already planning a return trip in the near future. Their home is beautiful and so thankful that they are willing to share with us. I would not hesitate to recomend to anyone and look forward to a return trip. Thank you. read more

To say that our stay at RiverDance was enjoyable is truly an understatement. Dave and Callie's home is more, much more than just a Bed & Breakfast. Surely, as the website pictures reveal, the house is spectacular and the view is phenomenal, but what made the stay so wonderful for us was the warmth of their welcome and the pure pleasure of the time spent with them in Christian fellowship.
