The first part of the experience is a ride in an old-fashioned wooden train car with open sides to allow the scents of green meadows and cow manure to awaken the senses. Nice. But, then, we got off and walked aboard the double decker, convertible cable car and that's when the real adventure began! Steel cables and a pulley system glide the cable car up to a 7,000 (or thereabouts) elevation. At times during the ride, it felt like the car swooped over a hump causing everyone in the car to gasp and scream, not unlike being on a stand-up roller coaster. Meanwhile, the views were simply breathtaking. At the top, we were lucky enough to be the first group up so we had sweeping views of the mountains unfettered by crowds. This level has the a restaurant and gift shop, but if you go, do make the time to take the side trail or walk up to the top viewing platform for even more amazing views overlooking the lake region. You'll be rewarded for the effort!

The schedules are posted at each pier. There is also a screen that has all the schedule for all piers. The gentleman in the information booth was very kind and helpful. He knew the schedule and which pier each ferry is departing from. While waiting for your boat, take the time to soak in the views, watch the birds, ducks and swans floating around. The ferries are on time. I took a roundtrip ferry to/ from Burgenstock. The views along the way were amazing.

We went on a late lift up to the top and the cable car malfunctioned as we waited in the car for about 20 min. They said sorry and asked that we go to the front counter to get a partial refund. Holy moly I swear this lady was the rudest person ever. Probably discrimination or something but she was like "the cable car runs from morning to now, why did you wait until the last minute to go? It is so dumb of you, it really is. I'm not going to give you a refund because this is your fault". We spent about 30 minutes arguing with her, usually I would have let this go but the cable car was very expensive and to miss the top of Mt. Titlis is very sad. The whole time we argued with her I was afraid for my life to be honest she was so aggressive. Finally, she gave us a partial refund and slammed the money on the counter and mumbled something under her breath. I felt really sad and the whole time I felt like it was my fault or something but the more I thought about it, that's not really how you should treat a customer at all:/ We returned the next day and paid the full price again to go all the way to the top. The partial refund paid for a part of it but yeah I had a crazy experience here. They definitely give the local skiers here priority.

Even including a pair of headphones that you can keep at the end of the ride. Staff here always does an amazing job. Always very friendly, in good mood and providing some extra info and entertainment. The ride goes along many big sights of course. But also a part is in the "Neustadt" (the newer part of town). I found that very nice, also to show a bit lesser known and popular parts of the city. The ride takes 45mins. There were many seats empty, even though it was a picture perfect sunny day. You can just show up and hope for empty seats or pre-book on their website. For bigger groups surely a thing you should consider. Even if you make a reservation, you pay when you arrive - no payment needed in advance. The audio guide offers a big number of languages, also a kid-friendly guide in german. The train rides also on wet days, but of course it's a lot more fun on a sunny day. It's well worth the price. The guides do a great job here. We will definitely be back.
