1.2.23 This is one of my favorite Stop & Shops in the area. I'm here at least a couple times a week picking up my essentials. The store is generally clean for the most part. They always have great variety of most of the items I'm usually looking for. It's a well lit bright store with a large parking lot that's shared with a half dozen stores or more. Plenty of parking always. Average prices. The staff have been helpful the handful of times I've asked for help. They have pretty good hours. Open late. They don't close support early. Is close to just about anything else you may need or be looking for. It's centrally located. They also have a Starbucks in the same plaza parking lot that's within walking distance. Only a 1 minute walk. That's how close it is. read more

Stop and Shop in Bristol, Connecticut has steadily decreased all International cheeses by selling cheeses made only in Italy. I like Danish blue cheese. I like some German Cheeses. They are nowhere to be found. Even the French cheeses are being replaced by Italian cheeses. I find that to be blatantly biased and discriminatory. Bristol does not have an abnormally high number of Italians. What is going on? read more

This is a pretty good grocery store. There is a Dunkin Donuts inside which is nice. There is a good selection of products, although a bit on the pricier side, it seemed to me. I was able to find everything I was looking for and the checkout lines weren't too long and the staff was very friendly. I plan to come back here for grocery shopping. It's conveniently located in a plaza with TJ Maxx, Ocean State Job Lot, and some other stores, so that's nice if you have other errands to run first. I havent received my check yet. Hey Stop and Shop - idk if this is the right place but I havent received my check from you guys in like a year. Ive been working as not only a cashier but 9 times out of ten I also pull double duty and bag the items ive scanned as well. I tried talking to the HR robot that was driving around the store but it just stood there. Anyways for the past year or so every time I am in your stores I not only fill the customers cart with the groceries they need to survive but I also check them out, bag their groceries, carry the groceries to the car and then drive them home afterwards. I think I should be compensated for that and definitely should get Stop and Shop Employee of the month or something. Oh btw the customer I referenced above is me. I am the customer. You guys are terrible - I nearly starve before I can checkout from your crappy store everytime waiting in line - hire some cashiers and baggers for the love of GOD. NJ wont even let you pump your own gas to protect jobs and you guys have turned the customers into employees. Quit it. read more

On Friday May 19, I put my trust in Stop&Shop meat dept by buying a decent looking Pork Roast @ 1,29 per pound, which I figured was a good deal. The sell by day was 5/22/2017. When I open this THING, I was almost incapacitated by the smell. The next day I returned to THE STORE and asked for the manager and asked him to SMELL IT, which he did but did not give me any satisfaction. I was told the issue would be resolved. But issue was with the Meat manager, I was not allowed to voice my disgust with him. What I wanted to say was WOULD YOU FEED THIS TO YOUR GRAND CHILDREN? I went into Stop & Shop this morning because they had 85% ground beef for $2.99 with a coupon, They didn't have any available so I went to the meat counter to ask for some. They said they didn't have any available but they would let me have the 80% ground beef for the same price. I said that was a cheaper, higher in fat meat than the 85%.. The woman seemed put off like she was doing me a huge favor. Most stores will offer something comparable or better. Not Stop & Shop meat department. They offer cheaper...for the same price. Really? Employees in the Deli are super nice, but plan on waiting three years to be served because they continuously only have two people staffed. Not to mention one of them is usually handling the orders that people put in ahead of time. They could also cut down on wait time if they didn't insist on showing you every first slice. This is the best grocery store in Bristol!Managers & employees always say hi, ask you how your day is going & treat you with utmost respect. Cashier named " Krystal " rang up my watermelon for 9.40 at first until I pointed out that I saw a different price ,she then double checked and confirmed I was right about it being 7.50 instead , she did not apologize and barely admitted she was wrong .i mean we all make mistakes but atleast own up to it . God knows how much money her unfortunate inexperience has cost the people of Bristol . Will not be returning for quite some time read more

It's sad to say this is the best supermarket in Bristol. While the selection is good, the checkout lines always seem to be a bit too long. The prices are usually fair, but probably could be better. My main reason for writing this review is the repeated chaos I experience at the deli. When you get to the deli section, there is a kiosk where you can place your order for meats, cheeses, etc. Well... Almost every time I pick up my order, I discover it has been altered in some way. Either a replacement has been made or an item is missing all together. The staff claims the item is either temporarily or permanently unavailable and the menu cannot be altered since it is the same for all stores. I've also had the misfortune of having my completed orders taken by other shoppers... I guess they like mystery meat. One final note... They've just launched a shopping assistant on their website. This service is useless. There is no pricing information available and items that are supposed to be sorted by isle appear in the incorrect locations. read more

I always have great experiences here. The employees are always so friendly. The seafood department is so kind with my toddler who loves the lobsters. I almost never have to bag any of my own groceries and have never had a cashier who isn't friendly. Best Stop & Shop I have been to. read more

New to the area and this location is closest to my house . This is the UNFRIENDLIEST Stop N Shop I have ever encountered . I seriously have considered driving out of my way to another location to avoid it. The cashiers are rude and speak in barely audible tones . When asked a basic question they don't even answer like they didn't hear you . Never smile never say thank you . The baggers aren't even nice ! When you pass an employee in an aisle they look down or away ! The butcher is rarely visible . The other day a lady was yelling "Hello hello hello" really loud to try to get someone . The deli people drag themselves around and forget ordering meats at the kiosk !! They take FOREVER to get it ready . One person on a weekend morning working ? The other deli employee was playing with the deli case once again ignoring everyone ! Would love to speak to a manager about this location !! Shame on you Stop N Shop read more

This has been my go to store for like 4 years. I usually encounter friendly staff and cashiers. I have to say lately I've gone in and some of the employees don't even say " hello" or good morning" exp: I was there this past week. Young guy probably in his twenties working in grocery dept. I said " hi" he just gave me a blank stare. Also I went up front to pay for my groceries I had an older cashier hair pulled back and glasses. She greeted me but she made comments on some of the items I bought. Exp: burritos( then asks the bagger ( lady with dark straight hair. " oh how many calories are in those " lady says. " oh like 260" then cashier starts with " oh I can't eat those too much salt, calories, and cholesterol. She even made comments on the cheese it bought. I found this rather rude and unnecessary ( cashiers don't need to comment on what customers buy) it's a huge turn off. Don't say anything and do your job. I swear some of the cashiers need to be trained to be a bit more professional there ( stop with the bs small talk and chatting w/ the bagger. Just do your job and be friendly to the customer. However, I do love Faye, and the two ladies with the dark hair that work in the morning hours who both look Italian/ Portuguese. My advice to all staff there ( just be friendly and do your job) that's all us customers look for. Other than that it's a great store :) read more
