This store is the worst around. Do not buy meat or vegetables here, it will ruin your meal. My experience was horrible here. The lady Denise was being mean and disrespectful to me and my friends for being shoppers and gave us an attitude every time when we asked her for help. Don't understand all of the one star reviews here. The store was recently renovated, cleaned and rearranged. Food is fresh and often well stocked, except when people panic shop during Covid ups and downs. Or supply chain issues which have nothing to do with the store itself. The workers here are very helpful and always give good discounts. Lines move quickly. Self checkout is available. Bakery on the premises. Omg!!! Why did I ever go back?! I just purchased Sabrett Hotdogs on Sunday, 10/17 (2 for $7). I Just open up one pack and was hit with a foul smell! the Hotdogs were dripping in a thick heavy slime. Absolutely disgusting! Never will I return to this place. I am reporting them to the Health Department. They won't be happy until they kill someone with out-dated, spoiled foul food. They consistently lower the price on rotten food so they can make a buck while putting our health at risk. Maybe if management reads this, they might want to check isle one. I love having a stop and shop near by and I was so excited to know they do balloons. My friend recommend it so I went in yesterday to get some balloons . They were completed deflated within 8 hours. The service was good but I'm so upset that for $23.00 and 3 balloons they didn't even last a day. Never again. I give 2 stars just for service. Not for the purchase. read more

The place itself is small and cramped and hard to navigate if you have a cart without bumping into something. Very outdated type signage and lighting as well. I have complained numerous times from employees throwing my deli meat me at me because they were having a bad day, begin so rude to me in front of my son, to a few employees with their underwear and rear ends sticking blatantly out of their pants! This is so offensive to me and disgusting. Now I find the need to complain about the lack of carriages! Last Sunday at 8:15 a.m. I thought I would get in an early shopping. There was not a carriage to be seen. There were a few of the smaller carriages but that was it. Not nearly large enough for me to do my weekly shopping. I went to the courtesy desk to ask if there were any large carriages. She told me, "No." That's it. So then I asked, "Why are there no carriages? I cannot shop with this little thing." She then said, "They're locked up with a chain on the side of the building." Okay...so now I had to ask, "Are they going to be unlocked and available anytime soon?" She then said, "I don't know." So far...great customer service! I asked again about the carriages and was told, "The guy who unlocks them is not here yet." I then asked when he would be coming in and she said, "I don't know." That was it. Since I had a hectic week ahead I decided to manage somehow to get a few things. By the time I left at 9:00 a.m. those carriages were still locked up. In the store I heard people complaining about the lack of carriages. By the time I left that lot at 9:12 a.m., those carriages were still locked up. This is a Sunday morning!!!! Get with the progam. Add to all this mess, the ailes had nothing but those u-boats everywhere full of items to be put out along with boxes and boxes everywhere. This store is always such a mess making it so difficult for me to want to return. It's a disgrace and a mess. Shelves with dirty towels and some spray bottles left on them. Packages of food opened and left out. Do you have people checking the store at night? Do have anyone working in this store or do they all just walk around with their faces in their cell phones??? Not sure what the bad reviews are about. We usually shop at the Acme down the road that is closing so decided to check out S&S. The produce section was plentiful with lots of good deals. The two staff I interacted with were chatty and helpful. It's a basic grocery store, and a well stocked one at that. read more

Is it weird to say that I like a supermarket's bread better than a bakery's? This Stop & Shop has great baguettes! The are always fresh and you cannot beat the price. Overall, Stop & Shop is one of the better supermarkets. They carry a good selection of organic produce and packaged goods, including some under their own store label. read more

I like shopping here, short lines, fewer customer than expected, but the last 3 times I went there there was a horrible body odor of an employee who handles food in the aisles, the stench was sickening to a level that covered entire aisles. Customers were avoiding entire aisles in order to breathe. Last time I went I complained to 2 other employees expressing my health and safety concern regarding food safety especially in these COVID times with the lack of body hygiene. This store is an absolute dump. If I were the folks at Stop & Shop I'd be embarrassed for my emblem to be on the front. I'm sure there are quality employees here who care about their jobs, I just haven't met them yet. Aside from rude employees shoppers will have the privilege of finding cramped aisles with displays blocking the lanes, a fruit and vegetable selection that looks as if it belongs in a food desert, and piles of stock you have to squeeze past. In the interest of full disclosure, the very few interactions I've had with the deli have been pleasant, and I once sent a Western Union and the young lady was very helpful as well. Unless you're going to this store for those two things, avoid this place like the plague. You're better off foraging in Garth Woods than trying to navigate this zoo. read more

I recently went in quickly to buy a couple of cases of seltzer- While waiting on line, a woman who clearly did not speak much English was having trouble paying for her things, and was struggling trying to explain to the cashier. Not only was the cashier ignorant and rude, but she didn't even try to understand her. After chiming in to kind of help the woman out, the payment was finalized and I was finally on my way out. Next, I dropped a case of seltzer; after the box ripped and being pretty embarrassed, I quickly looked up to see if anyone had seen and three employees who were standing at there positions were just staring at me. I don't need someone to run to my side, I don't need encouraging words - but to see that not one but three employees were just standing there waiting for me to do something was not cool. One of the better grocery stores in the area. They have great fresh produce, prepared foods, quality meats and large freezer section. Anything a bachelor could ask for. They usually have enough registers open to accommodate the heavy soccer mom traffic. I usually stay away from those annoying self checkouts though. They are awful. read more

I would give negative stars if possible. I use scan-it app to be considerate and cruise through the self checkout lane quickly. Love it. Occasionally there is an audit or other issue and you have to wait while the register announces "help is on the way." Annoying, but tolerable. On 1/13/21 3:00-3:30pm, this happened at the register closest to the "assistance" who was physically present but not addressing my issue for 10 minutes. No acknowledgement, no eye contact, even helped another customer before going back to his other work. No eye contact, no acknowledgement, e.g., "sorry I'm jammed, by with you when I can get there," well within ear shot of the register constantly blaring "help is on the way. Thanks a lot -- I will tell every single person I know about the experience in addition to shopping elsewhere. The scan-it convenience was awesome, but not worth this crap. read more

Lacking food items easily found at other stop and shop locations. Filth everywhere. The ice cream aisle across from the fish department reeks. WOW!! Is this actually the local Stop & Shop in Eastchester?! The store is filthy, the Employees are lazy and rude, and the entire store lacks a manager. Recently, I called corporate to report a complaint against the store. I witness an Employee, working a cash register, get into an altercation with another Employee working the cash register next to hers. Due to the altercation, the lines in both isles got extremely long, and when the man in front of me asked her to deal with it another time, she actually started swearing at the Customer! The situation got even better, the Employees walked away from the cash registers, walked outside, with the line many people back and started screaming at one another in the parking lot as if they were going to physically fight each other. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the names of the Employees bc at this store they are allowed to wear hoodies, with their hoods-up, covering their uniforms and name badges. This store is a train wreck, I would recommend driving a few more minutes up the road to the Country Market or driving a few minutes in the other direction to Traders Joes. read more

This store is a absolute shit-hole. Employees could care less about their customers. The help walk around with handsets in their ears listening to music, chewing gum and meat(steaks) spoil before expiration dates and they look at you like your crazy when you go to customer service for a refund. Last night, I took back London Broil that I literally had (2) days in my refrigerator and I made them give me DOUBLE my money back because I had to order in. REMEMBER, your entitled to DOUBLE your money back on just about everything but you have to ask them! The guy at the customer service was nice and he and I walked the meat back to the butcher and the butcher shook his head, I mean literally. It should be known that they have a new manager but this store goes through them like you change under wears. The Super Stop And Shop in New Rochelle about 5 miles from Eastchester is MUCH better. I'm getting more and more frustrated with this location. The last few times I've been here to do my shopping for the week, the cashiers have not been at all pleasant. Fine, I can deal with that- it's nice to have a pleasant cashier but whatever. But they also seem to ring peoples items up and then watch them bag their own items. Last time I was there the girl at the register didn't speak a word to me, and after scanning my items, watched me frantically get my groceries into bags and into my cart. She then started to ring the next person up while I was still standing there bagging my items. Come on. I don't mind assisting the cashier with bagging my items up in order to move things along quicker... in fact, I think that's the right thing to do personally... but since when do I have to bag all my stuff up while the employee stands there and watches me? The past two times I visited this location, the employees were too busy texting to look up and assist customers. The first time was during the self-checkout when the machine needed assistance, even though the employee was at her station, her head was buried in her phone. This is one of the worst grocery stores I've ever been in. It's gone extremely downhill in the last year and last week was the last time I will ever go in. Walked in and was immediately greeted by an empty banana shelf. There were only about 8 bananas in the entire store and they were all brown and bruised. No local milk left so I had to get the flying cow carton milk. All of the pint size ricotta was expired by a few days (disgusting). All out of the standard 24 packs of Poland Spring water. This was a common theme throughout the store. My girlfriend asked if there were any pork cutlet packages that weren't a family pack and the employee said definitely not. After 5 minutes of searching she found a small 3 pack mixed in with the chicken. Picked it up and found it to be wet and slimy as it wasn't sealed properly. Again, disgusting. She had to finish shopping with slimy hands. As we were walking to the registers, there was an employee obsessively stacking a neat display of Coca-Cola. This is a clear indication of poor management. The entire store is a mess, and you have an employee focusing on something that adds little value to the shopping experience. Went to checkout (sans many items that we needed for the week) and our bagger was goofing off and we had to bag our own groceries. #firstworldproblems I wish Stop & Shop the best of luck, but it seems like their destiny is with A&P; in the graveyard. read more
