It takes quite a bit to get me upset, yet this store finally did it. Few orders that I have placed are completed effectively. Sale items are very often out of stock. They have lame excuses for everything. Today, I will spend an extra two hours traveling back and forth to complete my order, which they screwed up again. "Do you want a refund?" "No, I don't want a refund, I want to be able to feed my guests over the weekend." With the prices as high as they are these days, doing business with this store has become a nightmare. I just called back to cancel the items they forgot to include, but that I paid for. I decided I have had enough of their shenanigans. I will no longer be doing business with this store. This location is a zoo. The staff wanders aimlessly and although a few are very friendly, the majority could not care less about the concerns of shoppers. As far as product, this location carries very little organic anything which really disappointed me. There seems really no reason to visit this store. Consuming products that are processed and not organic is toxic and bad for your health. read more

Great place to catch the Covid Virus. Watched them take carts off the lot and bring them in the store without wiping them down. As if thats not bad enough there are no hands wipes or sanitizer upon entering the store. I asked an employee about this and they told me that the carts are washed at night. That makes me feel so much better??? Really! We are in the middle of a pandemic. I am forced to wear a mask, but I have to pray that the last person using my cart was not carrying the corona virus. Besides that, the produce department is constantly empty along with many other store items. Back to Shoprite in Commack for me! read more

This is the Stop and Shop between my mom's and my place. My normal one would be a little out of the way, so if I am pressed for time or house sitting, I stop and shop here. The place always seems to be more chaotic, even with less customers. I'm also used to my store's layout, so it makes more sense to me. This one always seems to have people that shop in the middle of the aisle or screaming kids. I think it has less selection. The place is slightly dingy too and runs out of carts periodically. I go here occasional. I prefer not to do it. read more

I love all the employees in the store. They are so kind and helpful, they drop everything to help me whenever I have a question. This is not the case in any other Stop & Shop I've been to. Today, I went through the express checkout with my scanner, I had to scan several items separately which I purchased from produce. I had to put them on the scale after I scanned them. After I paid, I forgot them on the scale, this kind young man wearing a Santa hat came running out to the parking lot and found me with the items that I left on the scale. I have shopped in this store when it was Grand Union and now for over 40 years......I spend over $150 a week.......I will shop for 15 to 20 items per visit and usually 4 or 5 items were out of stock.....The freezer department has many empty shelves....And again it is not sale items that are unavailable. I feel the store manager is just a figurehead and when I complain to him he tells me that he cannot control how the store is stocked.....As a senior citizen having to go on my cell phone and go through gyrations to get digital sale coupons is not customer friendly....Many times I just go to King Kullen in Bay Shore whose shelves are plentiful with stock......Also this is the only supermarket that does not have an express register.......It has greatly gone downhill over the years....... read more

I was shopping at the West Islip location and needed an item in the produce department. The shelf was empty so I looked around for a produce clerk to ask if they had any in the back. The produce clerk I asked was named Sal and he put down whatever he was packing out and went in the back to look and brought out the item quickly. Great Customer service like that is rare and should be rewarded!!! read more

I have been shopping at the store for at least 10 years and I finally decided this is the last straw. I will now shop at Stop & Shop in West Babylon on 109. Some of the employees are rude and disrespectful. Today I asked two men who were packing out where something was and they rudely looked at me and yelled three. I asked them do you mean Aisle three and they just laughed. I am not a senile old lady and I should have complained to the manager! Then they kind of laughed with each other and went back to the packing out. These lowlifes probably can't get another job but packing out in a supermarket. This West Islip store is usually out of most things I buy. I have asked the manager why they do not carry things and he says just what we have on the shelves and did not make an effort to order anything different. I have gone to the west Babylon store and lo and behold they have all the items I am looking for. Obviously it's the manager in the West Islip store. I have called the customer service number for Stop & Shop but nothing seems to change!!! Stop & Shop wake up!!!!!!! Here's an update on the Stop & Shop in West Islip. Now they are keeping the shopping carts outside instead of keeping them nice and dry inside. They stack them up in front of the bottle room so that you can't even get into the bottle room. This store never seems to get any better. I have never seen a deli kiosk ALWAYS OUT OF ORDER. I don't get it. People don't have time to stand on a long deli line. They got a new one and that one never works either. When there is a sale they have only a few items, if any, on the shelf. People also don't have time to chase down employees, who don't seem to care anyway, to go in the back and get more. I know they usually do have it in the back but they don't replenish very well. Many of the prices for sale items are not clear or not posted at all. The other day I wanted a package of chopped meat. They only had small packages left each package was around $7. Ludicrous. I wanted to see the butcher to get a larger package which would have been a little more affordable. I asked someone and they told be the butcher went home at 3pm. Well that's just great. No one thought to replenish the meat before he or she left for the day. Incredible. It's out of convenience that many of us go to this Stop and Shop but I don't know how much more I can endure. read more

Poorly managed - frustrating Parking lot and cart area are not cleaned adequately and fly away type garbage is frequently present. Stocking is hit or miss. Prices scanned have a high error rate, making a stop at customer service required more than 50% of the time. Customer service competence is spotty and at times the booth is inhabited with staff that are hanging out complaining. Price checking for items that scan incorrectly takes a long time. No effort towards corrective action. I've had to stop on the same item 3x. read more

The fruit quality is inconsistent as is the quality of the vegetables. There is a good selection of baby food and the location is safe.

This is for the West Islip NY store it is awesome! Everyone is so helpful and I always find what I'm looking for! Highly recommended!

Store is dirty - one of my biggest complaints among other things. Shopping at this store is an overall miserable experience. Produce is the worst, rotten, old and expensive to boot! The produce department is set up like a rat maze. There's no room to maneuver in the crowded space. Litter on the floor and wilted lettuce greet me every time I shop there. News flash...nobody is going to buy wilted lettuce, so why do you leave it there? The bakery, deli and produce department are clustered in the smallest section of the store. Who ever designed that should get an "F" for friggin stupid! Moving on, the aisles are crowded with displays jutting out making for a one way route. I read this is intentional to slow the shopper so they buy more. It's aggravating and serves only to make me want to get out of the store as soon as possible. Meat department... what meat department? Super expensive, poor quality meat. Why do you stock the dairy department at the busiest time of the day? This store is convenient, so I only frequent when I am desperate. The scan guns are great when working. Clean the store up - hire a real butcher and buy your produce local. read more

Nothing is more frustrating that using the scan it gun and hitting the self checkout line but standing behind morons who are scanning their items one at a time like some sort of Luddite. They just don't seem to care about keeping shelves stocked, keeping the store clean, or customer service. What prompts me to finally write this, rather than just get in touch with Corporate - which I've done in the past - is that I bought London broil on sale yesterday and slow cooked it. It was vile and inedible, reeking of ammonia. I brought a sample to the store today, and the store person I gave it to agreed it smelled of ammonia. Giving me my money back does not repay me for the exposure of my family to something so awful, nor my time, nor having to prepare a different meal for my family. I asked the butcher if they soak or spray the meat with ammonia to kill bacteria and he said they don't. But something happened somewhere before it got to my kitchen. So if you've had that problem, you're not the only one. Please be careful. read more

I refuse to go to this location even though it is right down the block from me. I love Stop&Shop but this one can't seem to get it together. Any time I go there for something, or my weekly shopping, always turns out there is something (or a few of something) that they don't have. It's regular stuff too! I'm not talking Nature's Promise or some cage free eggs, I'm talking cheese, butter, salad kits, lettuce, frozen pasta, etc. I have complained to the manager via email twice. One for the stock issue, and another for the deli department. Every time I ordered from the kiosk I would select thin, apparently they can't read a ticket order and cut the cold cuts thin sliced. Ok, maybe my thin and your thin are two different things BUT when I get a slice of turkey that is sliced to 1 inch, I would say you mistakenly thought it said thick. This happened more than once, I received a gift card for reimbursment of those cold cuts but that didn't help the frustration. So, I stopped using the kiosk and started going to the deli counter and ordering the traditional way. Now I have to instruct them to use the wax paper in between a few cheese slices because they are too incompetent to do that as well. The one on Montauk Hwy and 109 in West Babylon are so much better & they will receive my business and probably a good review on here. read more

This store is pretty good...at least convenient on my way home from work. I go there quite a bit. But there's a couple issues: carts, eggs, and chopped salad. First, the carts are not good. Bad wheels that make a racket going down the aisle as everyone is staring at you as if you are violating some noise ordinance. Also, the child seat belts in the carts for our little one are always broken. My wife even went and complained to the customer service and they said call some 800 number! Isn't it their job to fix the stores problems, not my wife's. Second, the eggs are always in poor condition. Cartons thrown everywhere. Eggs are cracked. I've even seen customers taken out cracked eggs and taking from other cracked egg cartons to get a complete dozen with no cracked eggs. Third, the chopped salad kits (Dole brand). My family really likes these but you basically need to be there as the stocker opens the boxes to stock or you won't get any. They must sell out like in 5 second because they are always sold out. They need to order and stock more! read more
