I wanted to try out there Wednesday and Friday fish fry.i I got the Ipswich clam bellies and chips and wifey got the scallops and chips.the clam bellies were golden brown with a slight crunch and delicious.the scallops were cooked perfectly with a nice crust on the outside and sweet and moist on the inside the waffle french fries more cooked perfectly the best I've had in a while and their coleslaw what's absolutely delicious. the store itself is clean and everything thing in there looks fresh and the people working there are helpful and friendly.

How can you not wanna buy these?! Beautiful tomatoes 12-27-2020

In the short time they have been here they have gotten better & better. Still a tad bit expensive. But the quality is great & the variety has improved. The new addition is the fresh fried while you wait fish & seafood platters for lent. The coleslaw is fresh made & the waffle fries aka chips are delicious. And I'm not a big potato fan. So that says a lot. Sandwiches in the case are still 50% off after 7:30pm. Great selection & freshness. 3-11-2023

Okay I get the hype. I went in knowing I was going to want to buy everything but skeptical on whether or not it would actually be any good. It was definitely very good. What held me back from buying more than five items (one not pictured in the photo) was that a lot of the items had either animal rennet or alcohol in it which is prohibited for Muslims (unless the former uses halal animal rennet) so that made it easy for me to tighten my purse strings and get a grip. The cannoli bombolone were a little steep in cost but wow they were HEAVY and delicious. Great impassata ricotta filling and fluffy donut and lovely slightly dark chocolate drizzle. I'd actually get these again. Focaccia was soft and slightly crunchy when warmed and had a tart tangy flavor to the eggplant caponata. I ate the entire thing myself. I'll be trying another Foccacia next time. The eggplant hero was LOADED with eggplant but admittedly lacking in flavor so I wouldn't get this again but it was enough for two people. I haven't tried the burrata ravioli yet because I feel like I don't have the perfect sauce for it just yet but I bet it's gonna be beautiful. I'd definitely come back to try more things in the future if I'm nearby an Uncle Giuseppe's! For a non long islander, it's way too far but I look forward to the day I can return!

    hideous 40th anniversary cake
    Alye M.

quite literally the ugliest cake i've ever seen.... thankfully this was only seen by immediate family and not a large group of friends and family because i would've been humiliated bringing this to my parents 40th anniversary i am not a cake decorator but i could've done a better job, the lettering wasn't even centered, there was a big black oddly shaped blob around the sloppily piped '40' when i expected a boarder around the cake not the '40'.... just extremely disappointing

Todays rainy day snack brought to you by @Uncle G's and my backyard fig

Uncle G's is our one stop shop for all your culinary/ party needs. We've become obsessed w their birthday cakes. Bavarian crème with yellow cake is our party go to! They catered our sons first bday. Tons of food and all the extras for extremely reasonably priced. The staff is always super kind and informative. There's a great lil DJ in the background playing Italian classics. Everything is always fresh and delicious. We love Uncle G's! Today we baked a French Brie, with crushed rosemary Marconi almonds, honey, figs from the yard and homemade fig jam. Topped with Italian prosciutto and a tasty balsamic glaze.

Deli meats as far as the eye can see

We have been long time customers of the East Meadow store, so we were happy to hear that they had taken over the space here formerly occupied by King Kullen. We were not prepared for the way that this store presented itself - a virtual food palace. Upon entering, you first see the sushi department with prices comparable to other stores, but unusually high in quality. Then the deli meats and prepared meals with a vast array of options. The produce area is a treat for the eye, with all selections appealing and well priced. Then the candy counter with too many temptations to even process, but the candy apples the size of grapefruits left a lasting impression. The espresso counter looked inviting and the bakery case had to be seen to be believed. We stopped at the seafood counter and picked up a salmon filet, and go out with only spending around $50. We will be back soon and turn in a major visit for a special occasion coming up in a few weeks. When we first moved to Long Island in 1990 it was a grocery store desert, and over the years, with the arrivals of Trader Joe's, Stew Leonards and Whole Foods, the game has changed considerably. This is the best new addition we have seen in years.

California, good, too much muchy rice but ok

Overpriced and quality has dropped since they began branching out and opening more stores. I've stopped going there at all.

The store has no life inside, it's depressing. The shelves have minimal products which are overpriced. The grab and go dinners only had 2 choices available, so sad. Store made frozen pasta is available. Fresh meat is available, looked good but expensive. Salted cod was $21 a pound, why? There's a full array of salads in the front showcase which showed some promise but too expensive. No other customers in the store and it was lunch time. The quiche we bought had plenty of cheese and tasted good heated up despite the bottom crust being underbaked. I think that Uncle Giuseppe's sucked away business from Gemelli which used to be the only high end Italian market around.

Upon looking at the receipt I noticed they charged a fee for using the card. When I questioned the higher amount on my receipt the manager, I believe, said the credit card company puts it on there. WRONG! It's up to the merchant to tell the credit card company and in NYS it is illegal to charge more for using a credit card unless info is posted with the credit card amount and the cash amount or there is a discount for cash. Check this out on the NYS Consumer Affairs web site and point it out to merchants who are illegally charging you this fee. Yes, the store is paying a fee for accepting credit cards but that is part of their overhead and the burden should not be placed on their customers. Just wondering if they write off that expense after collecting it from unwary customers. There is a $500 fine for each complaint.
