This is by far one of the WORST Stop & Shops though. It always looks like a bomb went off...the shelves are always picked over and disorganized. Their purchasing department clearly sucks at their job, when something good goes on sale (i.e. Chobani for $1 a piece) they're cleaned out quickly and then the shelves are barren all week. Order enough to meet demand, I wouldn't think this is so hard. I prefer the one in Watertown, any of the ones in Waterbury, or Seymour better. The self-checkouts here suck. They give me more problems than any other Stop & Shop. I also wish that they'd get the scan-it guns so I could ring my stuff up AS I shop, but I suppose Naugatuck is like Torrington, full of raggies that make it too risky. (I had a friend who worked at one of the stores in Torrington who was told that shoplifting is why they don't have the option for scan-it...I would assume Naugatuck is the same.) The nice thing is that the store is rarely ever busy.

They've run out of items plenty of times that nearby locations still had plenty of. The self-checkout lines here are very glitchy. Unlike any Stop & Shop I've been too and I've been to dozens. You literally scan an item, the machine lags and often starts yelling at you. The staff usually just tells you to shove the items to the end of the belt to override. There always seems to be issues with the bottle redemption machines as well. The only reason I regularly shop here is that I live in Naugatuck, but I often end up having to go to another location to pick up items that they don't have.

Earlier that day, I had undergone an invasive eye procedure that required me to wear assistive visual devices, and my vision was significantly blurred. After leaving my appointment, I went to Walmart and purchased approximately $180 worth of items needed for my recovery. When I approached Register 6, Jessica was engaged in a personal conversation with the customer ahead of me, who appeared to be a friend based on the nature of their discussion. While waiting, I placed my items on the conveyor belt. Although the front of my shopping cart remained behind the pin pad and I was not obstructing anyone, Jessica abruptly and rudely told me to "get out of the way" and "back up". The tone she used was unnecessarily harsh and upsetting, to the point that I became emotional and began to cry. Because of how I was treated, I removed all of my items from the belt, placed them back in my cart, and proceeded to Register 5, where Jorge assisted me. He was courteous, compassionate, and helped me feel much better after hearing what had ocurred at the previous register. Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. While checking out, I could hear Jessica discussing the incident and laughing about how I supposedly did not understand "personal space". Although my vision was impaired, I could still see and hear what was taking place. Given that I was visibly wearing assistive visual devices, I believe I may have been singled out and mocked because Jessica assumed I was blind or visually impaired. I reported the incident to customer service, where I spoke to a younger male employee and an older female employee. I also submitted a complaint to Walmart Corporate. However, I do not feel that these actions adequately address the seriousness of what occurred. As a regular customer of this Walmart location, I am deeply disappointed by the treatment I received. No customer, particularly someone recovering from a medical procedure or living with a visual disability, should be subjected to ridicule, humiliation, or disrespect. I am especially concerned about how future customers with visible disabilities may be treated if this type of behavior is allowed to continue. I believe this incident warrants serious attention and appropriate corrective action to ensure that all customers are treated with dignity, professionalism, and respect.

Instead of acting like a professional, the employee got in her face and screamed, "What the f*** is wrong with you?" This was not only uncalled for but downright abusive. No customer should ever be treated with that level of hostility, especially when they've done nothing wrong. I reported this to Walmart and the BBB, but it doesn't look like anything will be done about it. If management allows employees to verbally attack customers, it speaks volumes about how little they care about the people who shop there. I won't be returning to this store, and I suggest others avoid it as well.

The people who work at the market are friendly and they are consistent workers there so they get to really know their customers. The parking lot has plenty of parking however, around the holidays it can be a little tough to find a spot. You might get a little claustrophobic because the aisles are a little bit tight. It's nice to be able to pick up a black sharpie for kids school projects, or a birthday card, or some engine oil without having to drive 20 minutes out of town. I do wish the fresh food section was a little more extensive but you can't have everything in such a small space. I personally like the new DG Market. Are you really telling us that you can't find better people to run the place? He's got an assistant who is personable, hard-working, and courteous. In what universe should he be working for a man like that manager? This store is the only one in the region that closes at 9PM, owing to their head man having angered people from the day they opened. I have news for DG. The hours they're open was never the problem. I am absolutely done trying to buy anything here, even though they are close to me and do sell things the other ones usually don't carry. It doesn't matter. The Chase store in Waterbury and the Naugatuck locations both have people who are so much better at what they do. Moreover, too many flies and fruit flies every where even in the winter Produces and products are not handled well. The freshness and quality of produce are bad. Dried goods, cans, and others are over date. If you see the products that are packed on the clear plastic bags by the store, it means those are expired. It's not even at the sale prices. They are just repacked from the original package at the full price without shown expiration date. Not mention about stuff in the freezers, without expiration date, you imagine how long those would stay in the store. One time, I explored things in the freezers, some of them expired since 2022.
