Walmart is my 'store of last resort', preferring to buy locally from small businesses. Sometimes, I can't find what i need, so a trip to the big box is required. This store is just like every other Walmart, except a bit cleaner with fewer wardrobe malfunctions. I know what I want, so it's enter, find it, pay, and leave. No browsing. No impulse shopping. The last time I was here was to replace a broken coffee maker. There were plenty in stock, so I had no problem making my purchase. If they were out of stock (and there were plenty of empty shelves), I would have felt sorry for anyone who I had contact with until I could find one. read more

I have never been so frustrated with a shopping experience. I ended up wasting over two hours because Walmart's system went down, and the entire situation was handled terribly. Standing around for that long because of a company issue is completely unacceptable. What really upset me was the lack of urgency and communication. Customers were left waiting with little information, and it felt like no one had a real plan for dealing with the problem. For a company as large as Walmart, you'd think there would be a backup system or a better way to keep things moving when technology fails. After making customers wait for more than two hours because of an issue that wasn't our fault, the least Walmart could have done was offer some type of compensation, like a gift card, to show they value their customers' time. Instead, it felt like our time meant nothing. Walmart seriously needs to invest in better systems and have a plan in place for situations like this. No one should have to lose hours of their day just to complete a shopping trip. I hope management takes this seriously because if this is how customers are treated, it's no surprise people choose to shop elsewhere. read more

On June 20, 2026, at approximately 2:15 p.m., I experienced what I believe was discriminatory and inappropriate treatment by cashier Jessica at register 6. Earlier that day, I had undergone an invasive eye procedure that required me to wear assistive visual devices, and my vision was significantly blurred. After leaving my appointment, I went to Walmart and purchased approximately $180 worth of items needed for my recovery. When I approached Register 6, Jessica was engaged in a personal conversation with the customer ahead of me, who appeared to be a friend based on the nature of their discussion. While waiting, I placed my items on the conveyor belt. Although the front of my shopping cart remained behind the pin pad and I was not obstructing anyone, Jessica abruptly and rudely told me to "get out of the way" and "back up". The tone she used was unnecessarily harsh and upsetting, to the point that I became emotional and began to cry. Because of how I was treated, I removed all of my items from the belt, placed them back in my cart, and proceeded to Register 5, where Jorge assisted me. He was courteous, compassionate, and helped me feel much better after hearing what had ocurred at the previous register. Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. While checking out, I could hear Jessica discussing the incident and laughing about how I supposedly did not understand "personal space". Although my vision was impaired, I could still see and hear what was taking place. Given that I was visibly wearing assistive visual devices, I believe I may have been singled out and mocked because Jessica assumed I was blind or visually impaired. I reported the incident to customer service, where I spoke to a younger male employee and an older female employee. I also submitted a complaint to Walmart Corporate. However, I do not feel that these actions adequately address the seriousness of what occurred. As a regular customer of this Walmart location, I am deeply disappointed by the treatment I received. No customer, particularly someone recovering from a medical procedure or living with a visual disability, should be subjected to ridicule, humiliation, or disrespect. I am especially concerned about how future customers with visible disabilities may be treated if this type of behavior is allowed to continue. I believe this incident warrants serious attention and appropriate corrective action to ensure that all customers are treated with dignity, professionalism, and respect. read more

This Walmart in Naugatuck is absolutely unacceptable. In my most recent visit, my mom accidentally bumped into an associate near the entrance and immediately apologized. Instead of acting like a professional, the employee got in her face and screamed, "What the f*** is wrong with you?" This was not only uncalled for but downright abusive. No customer should ever be treated with that level of hostility, especially when they've done nothing wrong. I reported this to Walmart and the BBB, but it doesn't look like anything will be done about it. If management allows employees to verbally attack customers, it speaks volumes about how little they care about the people who shop there. I won't be returning to this store, and I suggest others avoid it as well. read more

I watched Jose the driver drive up to my house went to the trunk and take out my sons bluey tent take a picture while he was standing in the street and put it back into his trunk , at that moment I started to walk towards him, he got into his car and drove away while I was saying "hello sir that's my order" . while I was holding my son of 2-year-old we watched him speed and race away down the street and I'm standing in the middle of the street watching him. Your driver robbed me. I received nothing my son has no lunch and I spent hours placing this order. this is by far the worst Walmart experience ever, and the refund takes 10 days so me and my family have to starve for over a week because your driver robbed me and my son. I did not receive any sort of compensation and this is absolutely wrong. my wife wants to stop using Walmart permanently . I am very upset this is wrong I wish someone could help or do something to make this better, we never wanted a refund we want the groceries we ordered. read more

It's Walmart -- you know what you're getting. This location has groceries, which is convenient, but there are always lines no matter what time you go. Produce and meats are really hit or miss: sometimes they're well stocked and fresh, other days there's next to nothing. Nope! Im good. I have given them way too many chances and it's just because it was convenient to me. I have always used their delivery service. First the third party one before they got the inhome delivery service. My order used to get stolen all the time. I understand it's not their fault but guess what? Not mine either!!! They treat me like im trying to get free stuff all the time even i supply proof. The most recent was today where more than half of my order is missing due to a problem at the store. The poor delivery driver had to inform me that almost all the order is messed up today and he has already reported it. I thought to myself, ok, it should not be s problem getting a refund and reordering. WRONG!!! Once again i was treated like it was my fault and i was trying to get free items. How dies a store loose 23 items from and order, admit it was there fault but still penalize the customer??? Do better Walmart and i am cancelling my membership. Stellar. 5.25.20 amid our covid-19 pandemic. I finally tried Walmart pickup. In one word Tremendous. Minus the 16 items that were supposedly out of stock. I'm sure if I waited in the long line and went in I'd find 1% milk on the shelf. They said it is out of stock asking with 15 other items. So for the bigger picture here it was a very good experience. They substituted a couple items for items that were out of stock. That was perfectly acceptable. Good going Walmart. The milk though does put a damper on things. I'm not believing that one. But you have to consider the source. Other than that it's all good and a happy experience. Will definitely follo this process again. Here we go again... Today I was,(reluctantly), at the Walmart Service Desk and I couldn't help noticing how clean it is . Below my initial review are some pictures. The best one is the mouse trap which is about 30 feet away from their open display cases with fruit and vegetables. A few weeks ago I purchased some groceries at the store. All was going fine, until I got to the register. As the cashier began to ring the food I had bought for my family, I noticed she began to lick her finger every time she opened a bag. Having owned a dental practice for 23 years, I couldn't help but notice that she had generalized periodontal disease, and with each lick she was transferring bacteria laden saliva onto my family's food. Today, I returnto the same Walmart, and as I was entering there was four or five employees milling around smoking cigarettes in the front. As I approach them one lady was dropping the F bomb repeatedly as she complained about one of her fellow call workers. On both occasions I called the manager, never got a response and he never answered. I would advise not to go to this Walmart if you care about what your family is consuming and what they are hearing. read more

COVID19: I often see both employers and shoppers wear mask IMPROPERLY. The mask must cover both nose and mouth, however I see many people frequently walk around doing neither. Additionally, since the start of the pandemic, items are not as frequently in stock. Cleaning supplies aisles are often bare and still limited. I am unsure how often the store is cleaned or kept clean but I would not trust it to be disinfected or hygienic. Again, the superstore does not provide bags unless you pay for them so you must bring your own. Also, there are often online/in-store discrepancies so don't be surprised if the item you're searching for says it is in stock online but once arriving in-store, there are none. read more

I can't give this Walmart a very bad rating, because it is MUCH nicer than some of the others I've seen. However, I can't really give it a very good rating either. My biggest problem with this store is that things always seem to need to be restocked. Lots of empty shelves. It really is hit or miss with certain products: sometimes they are in stock, sometimes they aren't. I love going to super Walmart. This one in particular is better than most that I've been to. Full supermarket and all the groceries you'll need for the week. They have many items that most Walmarts dont carry. The prices are cheaper than most regular supermarkets. Lots of great deals on all your other items needed. This Walmart is in a good location. I feel safe going in there any time of the day. Plenty of parking, The lot does get a little crazy. My mind was blown when I saw the floor polisher cleaning on its own. Apparently the machines are taking over a little bit at a time. They are doing the jobs humans won't do anymore. My only complaint about this Walmart is the same as most of them, the people that shop here. If you don't know how to control your kids, Walmart. If you don't understand personal space, Walmart. If you are generally loud and obnoxious, Walmart. This is not a knock on Walmart, just more proof that society as a whole is doomed. While things are getting steadily worse, why not save some money and head to Walmart? That's what I do. read more

I've been shopping here for three years and for the past year I've been going in barefoot because it helps me feel better. Every time I went into the store barefoot, I have never had an issue with any employee and was even helped many times to find items I was looking for and even one kind employee that mentioned he loved what I do. Today, I had went in there barefoot again, just like yesterday and the day before. E ether bing was fine and a kind employee rang me up and no one mentioned anything UNTIL i decided that I needed other item. The blonde lady at the front had mentioned to me that she knew I was just previously shopping in there but That couldn't be in there barefoot and that's when she made an announcement on the speaker "manager the guy with the barefeet is back"... Karen you have no authority over who comes in barefoot! Rocco came over and I explained that Walmart has no policy on it and today I called corporation and and they clarified that there is no policy on shopping barefoot and they shouldn't have said anything to me since I was already in there and had left with items and no one said anything at first until I returned. It is not acceptable to treat a customer in that way and this unprofessional location has been reported. I'm the picture below someone else had complained about not being allowed barefoot and corporate cleared up the other unprofessional location as well. Can't wait to be back barefoot! It states "Is a pleasure be assisting you today. Good deals, but not always worth the stop. The only reasons why I shop here are that they're open 24/7 and they're literally across the street from my home. Their prices might be low, but... Most Wal*Mart stores are essentially the same with Naugatuck being no different. Long lines, mediocre service and the selection at this location is not great either. Their cashiers also struggle with processing manufacturer coupons. That has happened at least three times. Bread? Not one loaf of bread that's vegan here and that's after looking through at least 30 varieties. Wal*Mart is notorious for selling highly processed foods with loads of preservatives. Not very many natural of organic options at all. If you're vegan, the pickings are very limited. You're better off going to Stop & Shop, that is unless it's 3 a.m. and you have to do grocery shopping on the spot. read more

One of the few Walmarts I've shopped at without wanting to gouge my eyes out, which speaks volumes, and is thus why they get four stars. I hate the self-checkout machines here, they're way too finicky, but it beats standing in line at an actual register when the line is 12 miles long. It's open 24 hours, which is nice, for example, when you're having an allergy attack and have no allergy meds at home. Some of their groceries are dirt cheap too, but being all the way across town I don't make it a point to do my grocery shopping here (yes, it has the grocery store setup here like a good old Southern redneck Wallyworld). The one thing that sucks is the grocery stuff is always picked over to hell and back, and if you go at night it's like dodging a restocking minefield. That said, I really wish Naugatuck would get a Target. Mind you Ansonia isn't *that* far, but it's still a way better experience than Walmart any day. (And I am NEVER in the vicinity of Target in Waterbury, so yes, Ansonia is closer.) read more

The entrance is always lined with employees smoking cigarettes so you have to walk through a cloud of smoke before entering. They are constantly out of stock on grocery items and too many of the items are either expired or rotten. It's a complete chaotic madhouse on the weekends and you feel like you're in a third world country scrambling for food. Oh, and never order from the deli. A few months ago they got a BIG FAT D letter grade from the health department. A D!!!! A lot of the employees there are great and so friendly, but they're not the problem. The most mismanaged store. I went in for 3 items. And while there were lots of employees none of them could help locate water filters. After I get my items I head to the checkout; no self serve lanes open. However, 3 registers were, but had lines of people. 10 minutes waiting in line and two of the registers close and there were still 25 people ahead of me and no manager in sight. So, after another 10 minutes and no change I dropped my stuff on the floor and walked out. It should not take 20 minutes to checkout. I refuse to ever shop at a Walmart again. read more

This location has decided to not carry any bags- not even reusable bags to purchase. They expect you, if you forgot your reusable bags, to put the items back into the cart even on HEAVY RAINING days!! Also, no where in the store is the new policy stated- NO WHERE! Unfortunately, I find myself at this store more often than I would like, for no other reasons than they are close and they are always open. The pros: - 24 hours - proximity - great prices on staples, produce, deli, personal care items, etc. - MOST of the floor staff, cashiers, parking lot workers, pharmacy are friendly & helpful - very clean The cons: - They are ALWAYS out of things, and not just one or two items - Crowded - too much stuff in too little space (maybe stock fewer items & actually stock them?) - The management. Seriously. Examples? 1) While shopping in produce, I could see NINE people waiting at the deli. Not one staff member out front (though you could see and hear 3 of them in the back). Over the course of almost ten minutes, every single customer left. I finally saw a manager (Winston) and told him that although I didn't need anything at the deli, they had just lost nine customers because no one had been at the deli. His response? To get a staffer & tell them "this lady wants to order something at the deli". Ummmm... Maybe it would have been helpful if he stopped playing with his iPhone long enough to actually listen? {{I WILL be fair and say that about a week ago I ran in for "one or two things". Well, as that goes, my hands were soon overflowing. A young manager (Ed) not only helped me find something, but when he saw how full my hands were, actually went to the front of the store and got me a cart! THAT is customer service! Kudos Ed!}} 2) Trying to reach a member of management by phone is an exercise in futility. Last call I was on hold for 15 minutes. I finally gave up & hung up. Unfortunately, the poor management is the reason the store isn't nearly as good as it could be. Oh well. Wal-Mart corporate doesn't care as long as they continue to make money. read more

I can't give this Walmart a good rating because they consistently do things that are stupid. Today I had to get gallon drinking water and they moved it to the top shelf. Now it's at least 6 feet high, and someone can get hurt getting it down. Well I immediately called over the associate that was conveniently in the aisle and asked him what the store was thinking putting water on the top shelf? He gave me the typical brain dead zombie response and said that it was corporate's decision to put it there. So I took a picture, and decided to write another review. It has been 10 months since my last one. Does anyone read these from corporate and do they care that they are getting rotten reviews? How can they continue to compete? I needed one thing. A 2 yard long piece of fabric. I asked every employee In the store, and they called for somebody to help me 10 times over the intercom yet nobody came. While I was waiting I noticed about 5 people waiting at electronics. They said they were there for about 20 minutes without assistance. 2 hours later and I still didn't have anything to show. I was mere seconds from whipping out my razor blade and cutting the fabric... or my neck. I end up grabbing a small car electronic and a bag of Chex mix. BIG MISTAKE. Should have known only 2 registers would be open and the lines 100 feet long. 30 minutes later and I finally was out. What should have been 10 minutes turned into 2.5 hours. Probably the only Walmart I will happily shop in. It is clean, the staff is normal, and you can actually find what you are looking for. Parking lot is decent size for the place and it is conveniently off of Route 8. If you need to bite the bullet and go to a Walmart, this is the one to choose. read more

I'm not a regular shopper of Walmart unless I'm looking for something in particular. Usually the parking lots are busy and the lines at the registers long. But the competitive pricing keeps me coming back. I've been to different locations over the years and try to stay away from them because it is a menagerie. This and their Shelton location are one of my preferred stores because when I've been there the parking lot is slightly easier to navigate and the associates I encountered were a little more friendly and helpful. I have yet to encounter empty and messy shelves. Recently I was here to pick up a few Xmas gifts and even though they were busy, I was able to find what I needed and the register line moved pretty quick. The cashier was in good spirits and interacted with everyone of us when we got to her register. I didn't feel like it was an assembly line which is the usual experience elsewhere. For a busy holiday season they seemed to have their team in sync. My only issue was having to wait for the guy in the parking lot get all the shopping carts out of the way so we could find a parking spot. But given that it was close to Xmas and everyone leaves the carts everywhere, he had a good handle on it. The greeter Patti was very pleasant and seemed really happy to be there. From the time she greeted us to the time it took for us to find what we needed and a quick tryon in the dressing room and then the line at the register, we were only there for 20 minutes! Wow it's one of those super Walmart but not titled as such at that's probably because their smaller than most but they do have fresh produce as well as meat and boxed/canned foods. Walmart always has the best prices so I like coming out here. It's clean and they have a lot of staff working on the floor to help you find everything your looking for. read more

Last Saturday I went to Walmart Naugatuck, CT to get some gardening items. I also picked up a slat of pansy's. I then got in the long line to enter the store (which considering the length of people in line it went quite quickly.) Unfortunately, by the time I got in the store I had decided I didn't want one color of pansies...I wanted two colors. When I went through the check-out line, I explained this to Irene Maselli and asked that she charge me for the full slat, keep half of them and I would pick up the other half color when I left the store. She explained that she had to have the item number from the actual item as it was seasonal and it's not automatically in the system. She then proceeded to get Robert/RJ, who graciously asked Phil to come over to me and walk me out of the store to choose my flowers and walk me back in so I wouldn't have to stand in line again. When we entered back into the store Phil handed me over to Louise who happily checked me out. I have never met that many people in one store that were so kind, helpful and non-judgmental. Come on...all that for 4 six packs of a different color of flower! I know...I know, but I really wanted to change to two colors. When I got out of the store and into the parking lot, I picked up my two very heavy mulches and large bags of soil and put them in my cart. I'm a 66, thin female. When I got to my car, I felt like I just couldn't lift them again into the back of my SUV. A young gentleman pulled into the parking space next to me and I swallowed my pride and asked if he could help me. Nick turned out to work for Walmart as well and was going into work. The cashier we had, TIARA. Was horrible. She had the worst attitude and she was going the absolute slowest she could. She claimed we didn't have money on our card. (Which I knew we did) and the whole time SHE was pressing the wrong button on her computer. I can't help but think it was on purpose. We had to return and repurchase all of our groceries.
