It's pretty good. Very clean and organized. Price is of course competitive. Most often I find their price to be better then Big Y.

On June 20, 2026, at approximately 2:15 p.m., I experienced what I believe was discriminatory and…read moreinappropriate treatment by cashier Jessica at register 6. Earlier that day, I had undergone an invasive eye procedure that required me to wear assistive visual devices, and my vision was significantly blurred. After leaving my appointment, I went to Walmart and purchased approximately $180 worth of items needed for my recovery. When I approached Register 6, Jessica was engaged in a personal conversation with the customer ahead of me, who appeared to be a friend based on the nature of their discussion. While waiting, I placed my items on the conveyor belt. Although the front of my shopping cart remained behind the pin pad and I was not obstructing anyone, Jessica abruptly and rudely told me to "get out of the way" and "back up". The tone she used was unnecessarily harsh and upsetting, to the point that I became emotional and began to cry. Because of how I was treated, I removed all of my items from the belt, placed them back in my cart, and proceeded to Register 5, where Jorge assisted me. He was courteous, compassionate, and helped me feel much better after hearing what had ocurred at the previous register. Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. While checking out, I could hear Jessica discussing the incident and laughing about how I supposedly did not understand "personal space". Although my vision was impaired, I could still see and hear what was taking place. Given that I was visibly wearing assistive visual devices, I believe I may have been singled out and mocked because Jessica assumed I was blind or visually impaired. I reported the incident to customer service, where I spoke to a younger male employee and an older female employee. I also submitted a complaint to Walmart Corporate. However, I do not feel that these actions adequately address the seriousness of what occurred. As a regular customer of this Walmart location, I am deeply disappointed by the treatment I received. No customer, particularly someone recovering from a medical procedure or living with a visual disability, should be subjected to ridicule, humiliation, or disrespect. I am especially concerned about how future customers with visible disabilities may be treated if this type of behavior is allowed to continue. I believe this incident warrants serious attention and appropriate corrective action to ensure that all customers are treated with dignity, professionalism, and respect.

This Walmart in Naugatuck is absolutely unacceptable. In my most recent visit, my mom accidentally…read morebumped into an associate near the entrance and immediately apologized. Instead of acting like a professional, the employee got in her face and screamed, "What the f*** is wrong with you?" This was not only uncalled for but downright abusive. No customer should ever be treated with that level of hostility, especially when they've done nothing wrong. I reported this to Walmart and the BBB, but it doesn't look like anything will be done about it. If management allows employees to verbally attack customers, it speaks volumes about how little they care about the people who shop there. I won't be returning to this store, and I suggest others avoid it as well.

The Bronx Deli - Eggplant Grinder

"No matter where I go I know where I came from…read more From the Bronx" (Jennifer Lopez) Trivia Time! Q: Name the only New York City borough that's part of the United States mainland? A: The Bronx! Besides Jennifer Lopez, the Bronx may be best known as the birthplace of Hip Hop music, Arthur Avenue Italian bakeries and grocery stores, Yankee Stadium and the NY Yankees. It sure looks like the owners of Oxford's ''The Bronx Deli" are Yankee fans, because their sandwich menu has over 20 choices named after Yankee stars or baseball in general, plus hundreds of NY Yankee photos on their wall. Some of the sandwich names are The Yogi with chicken and eggplant, The Babe with turkey and pepperoni, The O'Neill Deal with ham, sopressata, salami, and provolone, Bern Baby Burn with chicken, hot peppers and mozzarella, and the coolest one -Robbie Cano, Don't Ya Know with Roast Beef, American cheese and red peppers. We wanted to pick up something to have for dinner last night and decided on a Goodfella grinder ($10.99) with Eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, oil and garlic, and a side of tortellini salad with peppers and sun dried tomatoes. The grinder was terrific -a big loaf of perfect Arthur Avenue bread, plenty of fresh eggplant and mozzarella slices, and nice marinated red pepper slices. (Pro Tip - the Goodfella doesn't include marinara sauce -if you want that order an Eggplant Parmesan sandwich). The tortellini salad was very good as well, plenty of pasta and tomatoes in a balsamic dressing. Our grinder and side totalled just $17 -not bad for a dinner for two. We dealt with two employees. The young lady who rang us up was a sweetheart -super nice and much more engaging than the young man who made our sandwich. As a former Bronxite myself, I loved visiting the Bronx Deli and checking out the photos on the wall. My favorite was an autographed picture of Yankee royalty taken at an Old Timers Day -Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and Casey Stengel. All are Hall of Famers. Go check out the Bronx Deli if you're either a lover of Italian food, a Yankee fan, or both.

Five stars forever for the homerun grinder. It's my favorite hot grinder of all time. That is all.read more

I like Stop & Shop. Big Y generally pisses me off and is too expensive so I try not to go there…read moreunless they have something on sale. Walmart is too out of the way for this side of town. This is by far one of the WORST Stop & Shops though. It always looks like a bomb went off...the shelves are always picked over and disorganized. Their purchasing department clearly sucks at their job, when something good goes on sale (i.e. Chobani for $1 a piece) they're cleaned out quickly and then the shelves are barren all week. Order enough to meet demand, I wouldn't think this is so hard. I prefer the one in Watertown, any of the ones in Waterbury, or Seymour better. The self-checkouts here suck. They give me more problems than any other Stop & Shop. I also wish that they'd get the scan-it guns so I could ring my stuff up AS I shop, but I suppose Naugatuck is like Torrington, full of raggies that make it too risky. (I had a friend who worked at one of the stores in Torrington who was told that shoplifting is why they don't have the option for scan-it...I would assume Naugatuck is the same.) The nice thing is that the store is rarely ever busy.

I concur with the 3-star rating previously posted…read more The selection at the Naugatuck Stop & Shop is very mediocre. They've run out of items plenty of times that nearby locations still had plenty of. The self-checkout lines here are very glitchy. Unlike any Stop & Shop I've been too and I've been to dozens. You literally scan an item, the machine lags and often starts yelling at you. The staff usually just tells you to shove the items to the end of the belt to override. There always seems to be issues with the bottle redemption machines as well. The only reason I regularly shop here is that I live in Naugatuck, but I often end up having to go to another location to pick up items that they don't have.

Of all the sites we visited, this was the stand out. The fruits and vegetables are incredible... literally picture-perfect and bursting with flavor. In addition, the stand has lots of homemade products like mango salsa, horseradish mustard, and the like. These specialty items are delicious! Oh, and don't forget to pick up some of their homemade preserves. My husband and I practically overdosed on peach preserves! There is a beautiful outdoor area where kids can play, which also makes the stand a nice destination for families. Last but not least, the staff that works here is so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them.

**Customer Review for Dollar General in Oxford on 11/9**…read more I had a disappointing experience at the Dollar General store in Oxford on November 9th. I went in to purchase a few items: an Airwick warmer, two Airwick refills, a Febreze plug refill, and Palmolive dish soap. There was a coupon for $4.00 off the Airwick warmer, which was priced at $4.00, so I expected that to work perfectly. The Airwick refills were $6.25 each with a buy one, get one free deal, or so I thought. When I checked out, I noticed my receipt showed that the coupon for the warmer only took off $3.23, and the buy one, get one deal didn't translate correctly, taking off just $5.05. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, Sherri, who claimed that nothing is free and that I would have to pay something. She said it was a system error and there was nothing she could do about it. I asked to speak with a manager, only to find out that Sherri was the manager. She informed me that the only option I had was to contact the corporate office for assistance. When I asked for the contact details, she struggled to find the information and suggested I "Google it." While I did end up reaching out to corporate, they acknowledged it was an error on their part and were surprised to hear that the manager couldn't help resolve the issue. They promised to send a gift card for the difference, but I wasn't interested in a gift card; I wanted my money back in my original payment method. Overall, the customer service was lackluster and far from friendly. Because of this frustrating experience, I won't be shopping at Dollar General again. I hope they can improve their training for both cashiers and managers in the future.
