The Stop & Shop location at 365 Route 109 in West Babylon is the worst grocery store I have ever shopped in. Loud, blaring, pounding music. Freezing temperature. Specific items constantly missing from shelves. Expired items in plain view. Dirty, smelly produce aisle. Frozen foods thrown about randomly on the shelves. Incredibly surly associates in the aisles - don't dare ask them a question! The other West Babylon location on Montauk Hwy is fine. Just don't go to the one on Route 109. read more

A new level of I don't give a d*** today. Bought 5 items, with 3 on sale. The cashier woman rang them up wrong and added an extra loaf of bread. My husband tried to point it out and she was staring into space and mentally checked out. Had to speak with dis(courtsey) desk lady who also gave zero interests, had an attitude and never apologized. Returned the wrong amount in cash, not on the card which is useless, thanks. The only way they stay in business is that it's close to the elder complexes and places where people have only this store to walk to. I wish they'd build a Wegmans or some other good store on 109 and put this over-priced joke factory out of business where it belongs. read more

I had occasion to use the pharmacy at the store, all is fine there EXCEPT the female pharmacist is not very nice and rather rude at times. She seems to have a chip on her shoulder and takes it out on the customers. Everyone else there are friendly and helpful as they should be. read more

I personally really enjoy going to this particular Stop and Shop. The environment is excellent and it was always clean. Staff is friendly and the parking lot is never too crowded. Although I was reluctant to go here first, many of the other grocery stores in this area closed down. I'm actually happy I was forced to check this place out because it is far better than the ones that I was going to. The deals are good and having a stop and shop card makes it even better. There are times where I end up saving $10-15 on everyday items. The only downside to this place is during late hours when there are not enough cashiers open. I personally don't like self check out because I feel like I become an employee for 5 minutes and majority of the time I feel like I will screw it up, especially when there are more than 5/6 items. Please do everyone a courtesy and hire more employees during the closing shift; it'll make everyone, including myself, much happier. read more

I am extremely disappointed at the awful service at this store. A nasty employee filling the produce section was so rude and nasty. I have never been spoken to like this child has spoken to me. He clearly does not like his job and acted like he did not want to be there. He slammed all the parsley out of rage. His behavior is a reflection of poor management. Most recent visit date: March 14, 2019 I have now made this my grocery store where I go to shop on the mornings I work later at my job after I bring my son to nursery school. If I can't come here on a Thursday morning because my son doesn't have school that week or there's a schedule change, hubby shops for us but I like doing the grocery shopping. I love this stop n' shop. There's a Starbucks inside which is automatic happiness for me, I grab myself a cup of coffee and get to my shopping. There's a large impressive selection here of almost anything I could imagine needing. I happily wonder the aisles putting stuff in my cart that's on my grocery list, along with stuff I see that's not on my grocery list (a problem I think many of us have when we grocery shop). When hubby does the shopping we end up saving some money. Everyone here that I've encountered has been friendly & helpful. I'd recommend coming here to shop! read more

Horrible bakery! I never write reviews but i had to because this bakery is terrible and they are all so rude. I ordered 40 cupcakes for my son's 6th birthday party a week in advance. I go to pick them up and they tell me they never received an order. I go back in my phone and made sure I called the correct store, and it was. They were so rude and nasty. I was shopping at stop&shop on rt 109 a few days ago and walked past this Manager I think his name is Ray . Anyway I was in shock how he was speaking to one of his employees. So mean and angry, very unprofessional. This Stop & Shop I actually discovered by accident while driving to work (apparently I discover a lot of places by accident..) -_- Anyways, I was on the L.I.E., and I needed to fill up gas, got off the exit 49S.. After filling up and continuing on my way, my GPS took me on a different route to work..and at the same time, I realized I was getting hungry. LOL Anyways, fast foward.. I passed this Stop & Shop, and I figured why not, I'll come in a take a look. There's a Stop & Shop near where I live too, but I never went in there. As always, with most Stop & Shop stores that I've seen, this place is HUGE. I had the same impression as most other reviewers: "Clean, large, well organized, good selection of products." This is one of the larger and bigger Stop&Shop I've been to in NY. Normally I would expect it to be older like the shoprite nearby that still feel much like a strip mall from the 70s but at this location it's its own standalone building with own private lot. I feel they have done some interior renovation as the aisles and lighting feels much more modern than most of the locations I've been to. Prices are decent but they do have pretty good selections. Being that its probably the closest supermarket for me around the area that has decent reviews I would find myself coming here more often in the future. Coming here Saturday evening was painless with plenty of parking and no lines. The staff are pretty friendly and they seem mostly younger college aged kids. Yelp's location is a little off however they're actually located just a little further down beyond the intersection that it shows on the map. Very convenient off Sunrise highway. read more

They don't care about their customers. They claim the store is open till midnight, but they shutdown all their lanes with cashiers at 11. Their self checkout lanes are a nightmare, if you have more than a few items. They constantly malfunction and you are forced to put the groceries on their filthy floor because the conveyor belt won't allow more than a few items to accumulate there. Plus, corporate clearly doesn't care about its customers. They say they have a 7 day response time to emailed complaints, due to high volume of complaints? Really? Maybe they should hire enough customer service reps, or run their stores better to reduce complaints. read more

My wife and I would like to acknowledge the warm generosity of Lindsey, one of the store managers that truly knows what it means to be of Love & Service. In this time of crisis during the coronavirus, when most people are out fending for themselves, Lindsey took the time to listen to our dilemma over the phone and then took action. We were trying to pay the bill for a person in need that was shopping in her store, and when there was no way to pay over the phone by credit card (since we are too far to pay for the bill in person), Lindsey didn't hesitate to offer to pay the bill herself, so the person in need wouldn't go without necessities. It's a Stop and Shop. It's clean and well stocked. If you have ever been to one, it's probably the same. There are your share of people that don't know how to walk in public or allow others to move down the aisle. There is an abundance of name brand pickles. Very nice clean and organized supermarket. Wide variety of items. Wide aisles, great product displays, lots of sales items. Where I was let down was that there is not enough Spanish products here. Which means that If I need some Goya products, I gotta get elsewhere. One more great thing is that the meats and fish are placed in some kind of sealed bags, which looks pretty good and hygienic. This review is for their bakery department. I ordered a birthday cake for this past weekend when I hosted a Pizza (Pies-On Wheels) and Casino (Joka's Wild) themed 50th Birthday party and the cake was AWESOME. Perfectly decorated, made to my exact specifications, tasted great, very fresh. Everyone loved it and were totally impressed that it came from our local grocery store and not one of the more expensive local bakeries. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the first time I went to the bakery counter ( 3 pm on a weekday), no one was working so i had to come back at 5 pm. Wow, I'm glad I went back! It's surprising to see many people applaud this store and have such a good rating after a few reviews. I think it's not very well-managed. S&S prices are OK, and they can have good sales, but usually I shop elsewhere. As with any store, utilize the self-scanners at the end of some aisles so you can confirm the prices on some items. I've had problems like this in the past, hence the three stars for this store and not 4. A recent mini-renovation and redesign of some aisles has helped. It's not a big store, so if lines get long for cashiers, it could be a mess up front. Most, if not all, cashiers have been friendly. read more

My local supermarket closed so I needed to find a new place and heard good things about this one. I was very impressed when I shopped here. The store is spacious and clean. They have pretty much everything and the prices were better than I expected. This is definitely my new regular supermarket. I like that there's also a Redbox inside. read more

The management in this store is horrendous! The food is out of date way too often. This week I purchased bacon that was 2 weeks expired! Then when I went to return it there is no remorse from customer service for the inconvenience or for the fact that is just plain old nasty! Also don't bother with the deli department unless you have an hour to wait. Even with the self ordering, when is works it's still 20 minutes at best. read more

I love this supermarket! I spend a lot of time there. The produce department is always well stocked with a great assortment of fruits and veggies. The employees are always willing to help and are very friendly. Prices are decent. I also like the deli department. The pharmacy is convenient and I really like my pharmacist. I can usually find anything I need at this store. It's clean, usually well-stocked and the employees in all the departments are always willing to engage in conversation and are very informed and helpful. I also have found the store-brand products are usually very, very good and offer a substantial savings. read more

They have pretty good discounts if you shop smart. They do tend to run out of the chickens by 6:30PM, so if your looking to pick up a hot or refrigerated dinner be sure to get there before 5pm. read more

Bathrooms need to be cleaner. You serve food. How clean a bathroom is...is a reflection on how clean an establishment is. I love stop and shop and choose them over other supermarkets but...lately I've had an issue with one specific employee who gives us the hardest time about coupons. She fights with us over them...even when we prove we have the correct items. Had to get a manager once who approved the coupons (because they were correct) and even after he approved she still made comments! Rude. And a lot of times stop and shop coupons don't work...which needs to be addressed. Annoying at self checkout. Sales are good though and produce is good. read more

This is not a review about the overall store. This is a review of the deli counter. The deli is always busy so they installed the deli kiosk stand where you can order at the beginning of your visit and pick up at the end. One of the options for your meat is thickness. I always pick extra thin! It NEVER comes out thin! Why make this a choice if you are not going to follow through. The meat is also often cut unevenly, where it does not look like a circle. (I'm talking about Bologna primarily, so no the hardest meat to cut). Many times this is non editable to me and it goes to waste. read more

Horrible There was one worker at the deli meat counter and the customer in front of me had a large order which is fine I waited when it was my turn I asked for turkey I asked her to change her gloves and to please use the slicer that red meat has not touched she said the one at the end I said thank you she went over I asked her what that me was on the slicer she said oh that's baloney and I said that's the same thing. She was very nice and said I will clean it in the process of her cleaning it she cut her finger so the next gentleman that came over he proceeded to clean it and he told me the reason she cut her finger was because I was talking to her which is absolutely ridiculous. He's cleaning the machine for about 10 minutes to 15 minutes I am waiting patiently and then another worker said is that the machine she cut her finger on he said yes she said you have to pull it he said no I'm cleaning it she said you must pull it at that point I left Out of frustration. shouldn't all the employees know the process if someone cuts the finger, cleaning it isn't good enough I don't know I don't work there. @Manager for this location if you want to buy my groceries next visit for my inconvenience that would be great read more

Nice place to shop. It's the closest to where I live. It's clean n spacious with a wide variety of foods. I give it 2 stars because of the deli employees. 2 VERY RUDE people who work there. Corporate needs to get rid of them. They act like they're doing everyone a favor, but do the work begrudgingly. It's the same thing every single time I order from the deli and I'm not the only one to complain. There's always a crowd of people waiting to order. They're slow and deliberately ignore you. There's one woman by the name Layla who I tried getting her attention many times but totally ignored me. How RUDE! If you don't like serving the public, then get another job!! I complained to the "manager" but all he did was "yes" me. Useless!! I'll be calling corporate to complain. We shop there n pay their salary. Treat us with some respect n kindness! This super market has been sketchy at best for some time now. Dyed meats, misleading pricing etc. This is normal for them. I have pointed this out to corporate, with pictures and they do not care. Some of the employees are really nice and truly helpful which is why it got two stars instead of none. The other night was hysterical. In Suffolk county new York you get charged 5 cents for every plastic bag you use. I bought 3 meat items and rolls. The young lady starts to bag the items. She puts the first item in and rips the bag. I see the rip in the bag and point it out. She asks me if I would like another bag. I say yes but I do not want to pay for another bag. So she would not give me another bag. Suffolk county does not count the bags. The 5 cents goes to the store. They must be pretty desperate if they will not even replace a bag they rip with out charging you. Oh and if you have nice car be careful, their cart retriever slammed a whole line of carts into the back of my Camaro. When I brought that up to the manager she replied " Oh....Well our cameras in the parking lot would not capture that." read more

I just left stop n shop in Babylon ny and I'm more than frustrated with this place! I've been audited 99% of the time, while my bf has never been audited. I'm Brown American and my bf is Irish American we just went to sns nov '12 and as we were scanning things I made sure he scanned exactly what was placed in the bags. I was so worried about a mis-scan bc I knew I would get audited. He didn't think twice about it , but just as I suspected when we checked out the manager and a cashier were waiting conspicuously at the front and within seconds of the assistance tone they were there! Very unusual bc when you need assistance at a register it takes at least 10 seconds for someone to come. I expected the Audit AGAIN, but I didn't expect them to go through the entire order. I was upset at the rude cashier and my bf being a man that isn't usually followed around stores or constantly checked on he was upset as well . He felt horrible that certain ppl have to feel this way when they are probably more honest than others. Ban profiling! read more
