One of the best things about the Giunta's in Northport, is their fresh produce and the great selection of dairy products ( yogurt, milk, and eggs). The deli is clean and a good selection. Try the store brand of deli meats, cheaper and just as good. The only negative I have is when you see items that are for on sale, and they are not honored at the register. If I could give zero stars I would! The manager was absolutely disgusting and rude. We will never come back- when my husband asked why we were being charged a deposit fee for cans the manager responded with "that's your problem not mine". No one has a right to be rude to anyone for asking why there is a specific charge for anything. The manager should be ashamed of himself for the way he spoke to my husband - we will never return. The wrong price for an item came up on the register. An employee was called to check on it. I told him where it was and that there was a large sign right in front of the item with the sale price. The employee left and was gone for a long time. When he finally returned he had a small sticker on his hand and said here is the price. I walked him back to the location and the sign had been moved to the other side of the aisle. I said, oh was it in the wrong place and you moved it? He said no there was never a sign there. I don't live anywhere nearby-- just stayed at a beautiful Airbnb in the beach coast of Centerport and decided to pick up some fine steaks for a special birthday celebration--and fine they were! And the prices were unbelievable! I am not positive, but I believe my dog contracted neosporosis from the beef sold here. It is an incurable parasitic infection. It is transmitted from cows that have not been properly tested by responsible farmers. Humans are immune from this parasite but dogs get it from eating undercooked or raw beef that is infected. My dog suffered paralysis in the hind legs and many bouts of diarrhea as a result. I would always get him the raw soup bones to chew on and give him medium rare steak. This is the only store I would get the beef from. I had always wondered in the past how the beef prices in this store were probably half the price of a regular butcher shop. I believe I am aware now. Be sure to cook your beef for your dog. read more

Giunta's Meat Farms is a smaller grocery store but from what I could see this past Saturday evening, kept extremely clean, which you always hope to see in a grocery store. Their prices were comparable with other stores, slightly on the higher end. For example, a container of organic strawberries here were $6 and across the street at Stop and Shop the same size were only $5. A pint of their organic blueberries were $4 and are the same price at Stop and Shop and Trader Joes as well. Their produce looked really fresh, it's nice to go food shopping and not have to pick up 8 tomatoes before finding a decent one. Not sure if the place was well stocked and clean because they were closing in an hour or if this is how the store is usually kept but I was impressed from what I saw. What I was not impressed with was their ice cream selection. Halotop, Arctic Zero, Enlightened, those are all the protein packed ice cream pints that are seemingly healthy that contain fewer calories than the average pint. People love them and they didn't have more than 3 pints of Halotop in their freezer section. I was so disappointed and surprised. 3 pints of Halotop and no signage indicating they even sold Arctic Zero or Enlightened brands. The price of Halotop here was on the higher end as well and believe it or not, Whole Foods and Fairway Market sell these ice cream brands for a more affordable price. Their regular grocery items in the aisles were more expensive than what you'd find in Target, which is where I do a lot of my dry foods shopping. They didn't have any no salt added or low sodium beans. Their deli counter looked really clean and they had a nice big bakery area. I'd definitely come back here again to get deli meats and fresh produce but I couldn't do all of my shopping here for the week. read more

Cleanser dept is meh, but I don't go there for that. The produce department is chock full of things that you don't always fine. Persimmons? They carry them. My only complaint is some of the cashiers are not too enthusiastic about their jobs. No hello, no chit chat. Not a requirement, but still help you get through the food shopping chore. It is important that I state I do all the cooking thus all the food buying for my household. Every Friday on my lunch break I make four shopping lists, Giunta's is the first list. 1. My family is a big produce family and their produce is far superior to any store in a 20 mile radius and the prices are very fair; Swiss chard excellent, baby bok choy .99/lb and beautiful, escarole never dirty and always fresh. Now this is also the only place that has a plethora of chilis and the habaneros are very fresh (I have not seen the scorpion peppers in a while, please bring them back). 2. Deli is very good with a nice variety. 3. The Italian bread (3 loaves for $2.79) is excellent and often warm, we go through about 6-8 loaves per week. 4. The manager that looks like a retired USMC drill sergeant is always very helpful. Improvements; 1. Often there are price errors so important to be vigilant. Please note they do revise prices and adjust my bill happily. 2. Every Thursday I go to their website and they only have next week's flyer which start on Friday. Please retain the flyer on your website. To summarize, I am the pickiest customer on this planet and Giunta's is my favorite store. read more

Go to another store- Life is stressful enough now. Was out of fresh produce had to go to supermarket. There was NO regulation of number of people allowed in store? I saw no wipes (I brought my own) The help was clumped together chatting and laughing with their masks down! They came close to me when stocking shelves and I had to move away! Half way through my shopping store became way too crowded & stressful so I went to check out. We waited on a line 6 ft apart and were called by an employee 1 at a time to a register. He also was NOT wearing a mask and I had to ask him to step away. All the registers were NOT open? Very disappointing with NYS order to distance and thousands who died and are dying . Basically this review is based on pricing only! Your staff and management are superb and the store is very clean. But I've stopped shopping most products due to your heavy price increases in my favorite products which I now go to either Greenlawn Farms or Stop n Shop for. Your Schweid Burgers are $14.99 for a package of 4 and others are $10.99. Also your deli grilled chicken is $11.99 lb and I get delicious grilled chicken from Greenlawn for $8.99 lb. Giunta's is an old-school supermarket, but what they do, they do well. I was beginning to lose faith in supermarkets as a whole, but Giunta's has changed my opinion, and man, Fairway should be taking notes. Giunta's doesn't have a huge selection, but they have enough stuff. Every once in a while, they'll also carry interesting produce that I don't know that I'll ever use, but I like that it's there. Speaking of produce, their quality is pretty good. Probably the best produce I've seen in a supermarket outside of Whole Foods, and the best value for produce, *including* Whole Foods. The aisles are pretty wide, and the place isn't that crowded. This is in stark contrast to Stop & Shop across the street, which is overrun. My favorite part of Giunta's is the deli. Well staffed, decent service, carries Boar's Head. Again - stark contrast to most supermarkets, where you have to wait forever. Not everything is perfect about Giunta's - S&S carries some things that Giunta's doesn't (that's S&S's strength, IMO). I wish Giunta had a fish counter, but I understand why they don't. I wish they had a bathroom that wasn't through receiving, downstairs, and off the staff breakroom. I wish they carried Campari tomatoes more often than once in a a blue moon. But in the end, Giunta's is my pick for the weekly food shop. read more

Thank God for this place. I'm so tired of the awful produce and sketchy meats at Stop & Shop. Giunta's produce is gorgeous and the selection is wonderful for this neck of the woods. Ditto on their meats--SO MUCH better than across the street! The difference in quality (and taste!) is huge, not to mention, I love having regular access to things like ham hocks and slab bacon now, things that aren't exactly exotic but were unobtainable at SnS. Better deli pricing too, and almost never a line for the cashier. Heaven! My only complaint is non-food related: please change up your playlist! Open a 1/2gallon of Silk this morning that I purchased from Meat Market (Northport store). After pouring on my cereal I noticed it was thick and had unpleasant oder. Dumped the cereal. Checked Silk expiration date it was June 11. Returned it to Meat Market asked for exchange. I was told see the manager (Grant). Grant refused to allow me to exchange saying how did he know that it wasn't my fault it went bad. I was shocked. My family and I have been going to this store for more than 30 years (back to when it was King Kullen). We will not return to this store again. Stop & Shop will be our only choice where I've never been questioned about an exchange. read more

I had originally gone to the bigger grocery store across the street but found myself doing business in Meat Farms plaza one day and decided to check it out. So happy that I did! The produce selection is so wide and varied and handsomely displayed. The lighting is great and the aisles are easy to maneuver. Love the prepared foods, too (shout out to the lemon chicken!) The check out lanes are well staffed and get you though without a hassle (take that, Stop & Shop!) I've been happy with every purchase and try to give MF my business as frequently as I can. The store for the most part was very nice. The produce was fresh, meat prices weren't too expensive, nice sales. However, what ruined it for me was when I went to the deli counter and was met by a very rude gentleman who yelled at me when I asked him simple questions like what hams do they have on sale and if he could repeat himself. I've worked many hard jobs in my time, but to shout at a customer for trying to figure out what they want is unacceptable. And to top it all off as he was cutting what I ordered, he stopped and scratched his head with his gloved hand and went back to slicing. At that point I was disgusted and walked away. Love Giunta's Farms beautiful produce, meat, deli, bakery and grocery selection and have been a customer of the Commack store for 16 years so I was thrilled when they opened a store up the block from my house in Northport. Alas my initial shopping experience was sullied by one bad employee interaction. After finding fantastic fresh produce and assorted groceries at reasonable prices I proceeded to the checkout and greeted Vilma the cashier with a smile and a good morning but all I got in return was a blank stare and silence. Vilma totals my purchase and tells me the total so I pay cash and she hands me my receipt and change in silence. No thank you or anything. Maybe I'm too sensitive but in this day and age of competition for business and consumers having so many choices, customer service plays a huge part in where we want to spend our money. read more

So glad this establishment is so near to where I live! The shelves are always stocked and neatly organized, produce is quality, the aisles are wide and clean...and the staff is helpful and friendly.
