The pharmacy at Stop & Shop Wilton is definitely great! For years I was hesitant to use them...maybe because it was in a grocery store and I was looking for a separate small town pharmacy. But I had used CVS Wilton and CVS Main Avenue and it was never as quick and smooth as Wilton Stop & Shop! Previously, I thought the produce at Stop and Shop was subpar. Lately, the produce has been better than Village Market and Caraluzzi. This location carries Bell & Evans meat, as well as a huge selection of healthy snacks. It's slowly becoming our go-to store as Stop & Shop improves, while their competition raises prices and keeps everything the same or worse. One thing I wish Stop & Shop had was a better fresh baked bread selection. The pharmacy at Stop and Shop is wonderful. Highly communicative, helpful, and reliable staff. What is going on in this store? I don't normally shop here since I am close to Caraluzzis. The produce on a Thursday morning was so bare. There were no regular cucumber available. Zero rotisserie chickens were ready and it was 9am. There were about 12 registers closed and blocked on both sides and three of them were self check out. It looked like a mess! The woman near the registers (not self checkout) was not friendly when I asked her a question and barely made eye contact. read more

It's really unfortunate that we are so limited in downtown Wilton to only stop and shop and village market. Village market is nice, but expensive. Wilton stop and shop is a dump. You'll find lots of produce that isn't fresh, meat that is clearly past its sell-by date, stale pastries and cookies, and lots of stuff that should've been taken care of by staff. Once I found a block of white cheddar cheese covered in blue mold. Another time I found ground beef that was clearly spoiled. I brought it to the meat counter nearby (where the lobsters are) and the employee there was rude and couldn't have cared less. He said it "technically" wasn't past its sell by date according to the sticker. But it was visibly spoiled. You could smell it. The employees are usually friendly. Some of them are difficult (usually the ones with mental disabilities). They need to educate some of them on hygiene. I walked past one male employee who smelled like he hadn't bathed in a month. They sell deodorant for crying out loud. Teach him how to use it, please! The floors are often dirty and the bathrooms look like what you'd find at a truck stop. The floral department is nice and gets a solid A. The guys at the deli counter are good, too, when someone is there. Often when I walk up there's no one at the counter. I get that you might need to go to the back for something, but somebody should cover you then. The bakery is terrible and you can't ever get service. The last time I was there, trying to buy an overpriced sheet cake, I waited for fifteen minutes for someone to write "happy birthday" on it. This was after I walked to customer service to ask them to page someone because no one was there. Finally another employee told me no one from the bakery was there that day. Great, thanks for wasting my time. Bilal at the self checkout is cool. But he needs help. A lot of times he's running around back and forth fixing these stupid machines. You know, people would actually go to the cashiers if you had any. The last few times I've been here, though, there was only ONE actual cashier. Why bother having like 10 lanes then?! You never use them! Overall, this store gets an F. There are a few decent employees but not enough of them to make for a decent shopping experience. If Village Market weren't so expensive I'd never shop here again. I think pretty much everyone feels that way honestly. read more

You want a truly horrible super shop and steal, go to the one in Westport! I'm sick of these stores ripping people off and not giving you the sale price. However, I have to say I had a return to make here and the lady at customer service was super nice and helpful. I really wish we had a better chain supermarket in CT than this mess. read more

This store and its friendly and loyal staff are the best. People yelping because their app doesn't work or they can't find their favorite seltzer on a particular day or a hot roasted chicken for breakfast might want to hit the pharmacy there for a mood stabilizer. The pharmacists are fantastic too btw. They deeply care and have gone above and beyond for my family when we've had a few bad days ourselves. I have stopped shopping here. The produce is spoiled- their staff cannot even sort fresh herbs correctly- n0t a hard job!!! As for the rest of the store, the staff is quite rude and prefers to talk amongst themselves instead of helping customers, a big no-no. The store itself is filthy- especially the bathrooms, which are akin to an old truck-stop on the highway. Meh. I downloaded their stupid app and was supposed to get $5 off a $30 purchase. I signed up and everything but it didn't give me any coupons or anything. They said that they would override it but we got blown off during the purchase and never got the discount. Oh well, now I just will get berated by their promotional emails for no reason. Customer service throughout the store leaves a lot to be desired. If you can find help the employees are often rude and uninformed about product locations and availability. I am sure they a couple of good employees but they seem to be few and far between. The only person who, over the years, is consistantly pleasant, helpful and informed seems to be the older gentleman with a beard who is usually working in the self check out lanes. I only now only shop at this store if I absolutely need to. Otherwise, it's worth the drive up the road to Caraluzzi's for a much better experience all around. read more

This store is absolutely huge. Enormous, actually. Two departments stand out - their floral department, which is excellent, and their bakery, which actually has some very tasty offerings. Even though this place is huge, sometimes it seems as if there's not much selection for some items. Case in point - they have a ginormous selection of jams, but not much deli meat. Another downside is that this place is expensive! Not much is ever on sale, and their specials aren't that special. Still, on the whole, Stop & Shop is better than the Village Market for everyday goods (and usually cheaper). Huge lot, but the parking lot is always crowded. read more

Whatever you do don't buy any gift card at Stop and Shop Supermarket in Wilton. If you have a problem with the validity of that card they will not honor a refund or give you credit to their store. The female manager is difficult and uncaring . We are excellent customers both in the grocery department and pharmacy with a yearly spending of over $4000 but that didn't matter. The Visa card wanted our Social Security number, license copy, name and address (which we would not give) before they would mail us the permanent Visa card. The manager and Stop and Shop could care less that we were out $100.00. Beware!! read more

I hate shopping here. The first thing you will notice when you go here is there is carts scattered all over the parking lot, this is because there are no cart returns in the parking lot and few employees to gather up carts. When you enter the store you will always find some group or charity asking for money right by both entrances. Inside you will find items with misleading prices, advertising the unit price then not pricing items by these unit prices. If this is not criminal then the way that they herd customers to use the self check out by not hiring enough cashiers is enough to make you go out of your way to shop anywhere buy here. read more

How this store still is in business is anyones guess. Wife went in today and encountered seriously rude cashier with chip on her shoulder. This is not the first time she nor I have experienced extremely rude, unprofessional staff. This store is nice but needs new employees. Will not shop anymore at this location. The prices are higher than average and no one needs to pay these kind of prices and be treated poorly. Get rid of your current staff or send them to charm school. Lost myself and my wifes business. I stopped shopping here about 15 years ago because they were too rude for words. An expensive supermarket with poor quality produce and meats -- and I now spend my thousands and thousands of grocery dollars every year with the Village Market where my money buys quality in produce, meats, and prepared foods, and the service is beyond compare. I made my annual trip to S&S yesterday. The place is a little glossier with an interesting placement of winter hats and gloves in the frozen food aisle (what's with THAT?) but the staff is just as snarky as ever. I was overcharged on flowers. Really not planning on going back -- but sometimes the convenience overcomes my revulsion. read more

Conveniently located in downtown Wilton, this Stop&Shop gets the job done. Good choice of produce but the deli department is only ok.

Bad management and service desk...rude, very rude. Checkers are rude at times. Produce is terrible. Only good department is frozen foods--lots of choose from. The store needs better customer service and cashiers can be iffy. If you must return something at the desk, they are terrible to deal with, one woman in particular. I never walk out feeling good about the trip. High prices...but that's Stop & Shop. read more

This Stop & Shop is terrible. I only come here if I need a few things, since I live 5 minutes away, otherwise I will drive to the store on Main Ave in Norwalk. I went to this store tonight (on a Monday when everyone was getting out of work, my mistake) so it was packed. The lines were long and, like any other day, there was no one to help out at the self checkout lines in case there was an issue with the machines, which was the case in my line. The lady two people in front of me had to stop scanning her items and had to search for someone to help her, finally got someone then that person seemed to have forgot about her, so we really had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to come fix the machine at self checkout. This is an extremely poorly managed store. I have unfortunately had to shop here regularly as the other store in town is smaller and does not carry a lot of things. The regular employees are very nice, but the management is consistently rude and unhelpful. The only reason they survive at all is that they do not have a lot of competition. If there was a well run supermarket as big as this anywhere nearby, this store would go out of business. read more

I go to the Stop and Shop down the road on Route 7 in Norwalk to avoid this store, even though we live in Wilton. It just seems dark and dirty in here. The employees are not friendly, the meat and fish departments smell suspicious and the produce is not good. read more

WOW. I've been coming here for years and have never had such a bad check-out experience. The employee, if you can call him that, was named "Yven". He did not say ONE WORD to me the entire time I was there handing him my groceries. No "hello" no "thank you", he did not even read out my total to me so I had to look at the screen. NOT ONE WORD.Well, two can play that game. I did not speak to him either because, frankly, that's not my job. I know he was not mentally handicapped nor was he mute. Before I stepped up to the register, he was busy gabbing to one of his male friends/other employee. I must've have interrupted their conversation. How terrible! Absolutely abominable, Stop & Shop.
