I lived here for over a year before I discovered this store; I can't believe it took me so long. It has become a ritual to stop in here every Saturday with one of the girls from work. I absolutely love the place. I buy lots of honey there. It is locally made and so it is great for allergies. I love all the flavors they have, gray for mixing with different teas I drink. I enjoy their produce and am always finding something interesting to buy and try. It's not a huge store but it's not in a huge town either. Prices are a little up there but I find that is normal when you are shopping at an organic store and I think it is worth it. Plus I like the idea of supporting a local business. I also like buying gifts here when I take a trip back to the west coast for my patents. Last time I visited I took them cranberry honey, cinnamon honey and maple butter (so yummy on French toast). I definitely recommend stopping by whether you live in the area or just visiting for the summer.

I returned a bag of vegetables that I discovered were rotten when I opened the bag and when I returned it the refused their double your money back freshness promise because it's my fault I bought the vegetables that afternoon and when I opened the bag in the evening to make supper the manager claimed opening the bag made them get spoiled and I'm not eligible for a refund or replacement. I asked around and multiple folks said Gaspar's is good, except I wanted craft sausage from a mom & pop. Was finally told to check out Butcher Shop. Called and confirmed they made in house and ordered 20 lbs on the spot. Great people, asked how I wanted it made (spicy) and when I needed it. Stopped on way to Providence airport from the Cape and was blown away when I walked in the store. Such delicious smells, what an amazing spread of prepared foods - and so much more. Then the magic moment arrived, and the box appeared. Words can't describe the delicious aroma, it looked fantastic and all I needed to do was get it home safely. This was a few days ago and I've eaten it every day since - turns out 20 lbs wasn't really enough (thankfully they will ship). Hands down the best linguiça I've ever had and one of the best sausages I've ever eaten. This place is the real deal. Wonderful people. Do yourself a favor and check them out. I set it aside and went back less than a day later and they refused to exchange the items. I was told "Once the item leaves the store we can't exchange it". Wow. Really? Not even an apology for an ass backwards policy? Maybe replace the "can't" with "won't" because you certainly were capable of replacing it but chose not to do so. The reason why it is such an important place is because it sells a ton of Portuguese items that you can't really find in other stores. Also, they have an incredible deli with a ton of different fresh meats. Every time we come, there are a few things that we need to pick up. Those include fresh cheese, Portuguese style prosciutto, lingüiça, and olives. We also tend to pick up some other prepackaged items such as Sumol and spices. Overall, this is a great little grocery store continues to sell items that fulfill my need to connect with my heritage. Also, the family who owns it is polite and will always strike up a conversation.
