From the moment I arrived on April 30th, I was met with rudeness and a clear lack of professionalism by the on-site manager, "Pete." He was my first point of contact over the phone and greeted me in person with a tone that felt dismissive and hostile. I couldn't ignore the strong sense of prejudice and racial bias in how I was treated -- something no customer should ever experience. I had purchased a unit under the understanding (as stated by the company used) that I had 48 hours to clear it out. However, upon arrival around 2:20 PM, I was told I had only until 9 AM the next morning because the unit was already scheduled for someone else. This gave me less than 24 hours to complete everything -- a complete contradiction to what I was promised. Despite the stressful time crunch, I did my best to adapt. Pete said he would text me the gate code -- which I never received. I waited for over 30 minutes, then had to follow up myself. When I did, his tone was rude and unhelpful, as though I was inconveniencing him just for asking to enter the property I had already paid for. Later that day, he sent me a different gate code and told me I'd need to use that one going forward. I explained that we were coming back that same night to finish due to the tight deadline. When we returned after dropping off our first load, neither code worked. We were locked out of the facility, despite doing everything we were told and making a 2-hour drive from out of town. Customer service was no help, and because of this, we were forced to stay overnight and pay the hotel fee -- two vehicles, hours away from home, with no access to our unit, and under the threat of losing our deposit and belongings. All of this happened because of Pete's negligence, incompetence and lack of basic communication. He later acknowledged the problem and promised a resolution, which I waited a full week to receive. Nothing has been done. No follow-up, no apology -- nothing. I hope this review reaches upper management or ownership, because this is not just about poor customer service -- it's about accountability. Pete's unprofessionalism, lack of empathy, and dismissive attitude reflect poorly on the entire company. It's unacceptable for someone in a customer-facing position to act this way, and I sincerely hope steps are taken to prevent this from happening to others.

I had checked online for that location and saw they had outside units but mostly inside units; and I was wanting to find out if I could afford the internal temperature controlled units. So I drove there and found out the various size units at that site, which I thought I might need. Reanna gave me the prices and the fact there was a required insurance in addition monthly. That insurance was no actual surprise since I had rented a storage unit at another Cube Smart location many years ago, and I was indeed wanting insurance for my personal belongings and to protect their property as well. Since I already had my CubeSmart lock I bought when I stored my belongings at a different CubeSmart location many years ago, I asked if she could show me an internal unit and so I could check if my lock functioned. Reanna took me up via the elevator to a 5x10 unit explaining that with a code I would input based on my unit number, that it would for security reasons- only take me to the floor where my unit was located. We exited the elevator and with less than a minute walking, arrived at that unit and I checked and my lock worked perfectly. Reanna also showed me that they always had several rolling low platforms dollies to use free at the main walk-in entrance as well as the other entrance, which I knew I would certainly need loading and unloading. That matched my experience at that other CubeSmart many years ago, so their dolly access and elevator access is very consistent- and inside their property was very clean too. Since the location is perfect for my needs, and it has fantastic storage security and instead of getting an outdoor unit I could afford an indoor unit, and my old lock worked perfectly, and for all that I could afford to rent the exact size unit I needed-I was sold. It was so nice to walk in and immediately know that my needs were at the top of Reanna's mind during all her explanations and her escorting me around and helping me check my lock and answering my questions. I had to delay for almost a week but Reanna reserved that unit and when I came in to lease it there were no complications later. We naturally asked what they were packing for. Turns out John's last day there is 29 January -- the new owners had given him 2 weeks notice for his job *and* the home on site that he and Conni share! My wife and I were both horrified by this -- John and Conni are the 2 reasons we come there and trust the business!!
