This company is the worse of the worst. I have been a customer of the Shallotte location for over 17 years. With as many as 16 units rented at a time. Paid literally over a hundred thousand dollars in rent there. The staff is nice but the company is as bad as it gets. As an example. We were recently moving out of a couple of our big units there and checked with their office to see how long I had until the rent was due on a certain unit. They said that unit was not due for some time. We moved stuff from a unit into that unit and at the end of the day they said they made a mistake and the unit was actually due today! ( These units cost over three hundred dollars a month. We found there is plenty of new storage companies with better rates and we are trying to get out of all our units at Prime. ) They said because it was their mistake they would get us an extra day to move everything back out. Do you know the staff was written up for giving us the extra day. As much money we have given them you would think that they would be more understanding. No not Prime. Their fees go up almost every month. These are harsh people. I have many similar complaints I could talk about. I have been a business owner for over forty years. I try to treat people with the golden rule. There are plenty of decent companies to work with. Don't use Prime!!! You will regret it.

For example, a 65 inch TV powered up the evening of the move, suffered internal damage their claim the TV did not reflect any external damage to the screen or casing. Most often the newer tv's when dropped, would not show any outside damage,, even with its interior parts being broken. Their claim was the TV was already broken prior to the move, or why didn't I power up the TV once delivered. The movers were quick to leave and pressured me to sign the delivery receipt. They also claimed that the TV should've been boxed up rather than padded. All I heard were excuses, even with the other items that were damaged in the move. We received our pods and had them unloaded in three days in December 2025. Pods kept telling us they could not pick up last pods due to trucks being down. Now two and half months later they charging us retail on that pod for month of December. I do not recommend this company for moving and storage and give them half a star. The…read moreClearwater corporate offices are horrible people and won't take care of a very very big problem that may cause me my life. I'm a handicapped senior of 66 years old. I've been using and paying PODs thousands upon Thousands of dollars over the years since 2009. They are very very expensive but I went with them because of the idea of packing myself and not using a moving company which don't have the best of results. Today, my life is being threatened as PODs delivered the POD I had in their storage facility to an address that I was looking to rent. I had told PODs NOT to deliver the POD until I was sure I was getting the rental. I called them twice, I recorded the calls and they recorded the calls as well. They delivered the POD to the address of the rental that I did not get because someone else got it before me. I'm now in a wheelchair in front of the building where the POD is. There's a police officer ready to handcuff me, yes, handcuff me telling me if I don't get the POD removed from this property they will be taking me in the police car. I'm in a wheelchair I have spinal cord damages, never in trouble with anyone let alone the police and this may happen? I've called PODS cust. serv. that goes to Asian call centers, not in the USA. I called the # I got on-line to the "executive offices" whcih turned out to be a complaint center and they will not help me. They tell me they cannot removed the POD they put there in their error until l Monday, 3/21/25. Today is Wed. 3/19/25. The police office and the property owner will not budge and said if it's not removed today I will be in a jail cell. I've never heard of such nonsense but these people mean business and also do not care that I'm 66 yr old senior with spinal cord damage in a wheelchair; they just dont care. I'm all alone here, 8 hours from any family or friends trying to do thi move on my own and this happens. No one can help me at all. I will die in that jail cell for the next 6 days as I cannot walk or function without my handicapped things I need to live. Thi is the craziest situation I've ever been in and I'm frightened so badly I'm frightened for my life. I know this sounds crazy but it's exactly what is happening and I have it all on tape. I know I will eventually sue PODs and blast them on all social media but I need them to help me now, not 6 days from now and they just won't. How can they be so cruel and non-caring of another human being. Especially when I've given them so much business over the years. I beg all of you to NOT use PODs there are many other kinder more personable places that do what PODs does and they're more personal and not a non-caring money hungry conglomerate that PODs is.
