I had paintings in my unit which were ruined. They are always fast to put a lock on the unit. But once you pay they say they will take the lock off but don't. This has happened to me 3 times with different people in the office. Then I end up going back to the office multiple times. Always new employees. And the manager treats them like trash. Plenty of other storage facilities around. And trying to move stuff with the parking lot setup like that was extremely frustrating.

Secondly they rented out our unit because we bought a second unit. We have 16 days left of the month to utilize our unit, but Lorenzo assumed we transferred and closed our unit. We did not cancel our first unit because they do not give you a refund of a unit. So we wanted to utilize that unit, however we went to get a lock and he sold it already and we didn't even have access inside the building. Today my husband confronted him about it and he said he sold the indoor unit because we didn't have a lock but he literally watched us and sold it right then and there. So we contacted smart stop via phone because apparently their managers have hidden information , we have to wait for the DM to call or email us within 2-3 days. We call the 800 number and Monica tried to sell us another unit for a whole month and add 16 days free. So basically SmartStop has our money for that unit for the month and now someone else is paying for a month for that same unit. They also send you a postcard size note in the mail almost quarterly telling you your price is going up. We started that unit at $60 and this month we paid $250for our indoor unit 10x10 only and we purchased an outdoor unit last week for $120 10x20. This company is the worst scam ever . Do not use them. I am paying the price and I am getting a lawyer
