When speaking with the front desk, I was all but assured that with my short timeline, I'd be able to snag a climate controlled unit when I came. Well, guess what wasn't available when I rolled up? So I got stuck with a unit a size down, and not climate controlled. My deceased mother was an artist and I have many of her original works on canvas I was concerned about in the extreme humidity of a Florida summer, so I ended up just keeping them out. I also wasn't told until the end that I had to provide my own lock, and ended up having to buy one right there from them at an inflated price. Now, you may say, why not just go to a different storage unit place if all this stuff happened ? Well, that's why I'm writing the review, I guess. You make your own decision. I had a move performed by Capital City Moving Co in December 2023…read more They knocked over a 60 inch big screen TV and shattered the screen. They damaged the corners of my master bedroom dresser and scratched in a number of places. They scratched the mirror of the dresser that had been detached from the dresser. The scratch runs through the center of the mirror. When moving the dresser I heard a loud bang and went to look and saw they rammed the dresser into the wall and severally scratched the banister. Driving to my move to location which is a 7 minute drive, took them an hour, I guess stopping to pickup food since they had food wrappers left on the driveway. When backing in the truck it was east to see the driveway was slightly elevated from the street so you had to back in at and angle. They tried to drive in to straight and managed to gough out the concrete. When they ended they proposed a bill for nearly twice the original quote which they included the extra 50 minutes they took to get to the move in place which the clocked. Upfront they said since it was a local move they would not count drive time but they did. I have left messages to be reimbursed with Ray the manager and said that after the first of January they would contact me. I have left several messages and have not heard back since Jan 2nd 2024. Please note they reimburse by the pound of. 60 cents per lb so please move all your electronics and valuables by yourself if you are still inclined to use this incompetent company. Would NOT reccomend!…read more Capital City Movers overcharged me hundreds of dollars - billed me for several hours longer than the move actually took, and kept my 'deposit' despite telling me that it would be refunded or removed after the move was complete. Held my items hostage and made me pay before the move was even complete or they would not unload anything from the truck. Arrived two hours late with no explanation, went to the wrong house on my street, and rammed their truck in to my neighbor's mailbox knocking it clean off the post. Did not handle my items with care, did not re-build the items they took apart despite saying they would, and didn't use a mattress bag. Stacked every single box up in the kitchen despite them being labeled with which room they belonged in. Poor communication between office staff and moving crews, as the crew was not informed of the two items I needed to go to a different unit in my building. I sent multiple emails to the office staff requesting I be refunded the amount I was overcharged and got radio silence. This business should be reported to the Florida Division of Consumer Services for unethical business practices.

You fill out an online form with some basic info about your move, then they call you to confirm, ask you for any needed clarification and provide you pricing and an ETA on when your movers will arrive, how many there will be, etc. 2. They are punctual. If they say they'll be there by 9AM, chances are they'll be there by 8:45. Also, they call you when they're en route just to make sure you're ready for them. 3. They work hard and fast and do what it takes to get the job done including taking doors off hinges, unscrewing the feet from an oversized couch, etc. 4. Sometimes they'll throw in an extra worker for free which speeds things up and simplifies moving heavier items. The less good: 1. Price. Every time I've used them, my needs have been the same but the price is always higher than the time before. The price for my move this year was a little under $300 for two guys, one truck and less than an hour of work.

Our move required a load from our rental, an unload into AMWAT storage for three weeks, then another load back onto the trucks and delivery to our brand new home. As they loaded our items they tagged each one with a sticker to identify our items in their warehouse. When I say AMWAT was a life saver, it is not an exaggeration. The crew on our job was top notch! They all worked together beautifully. I am a pretty organized (read OCD) person, and I had a master list by box number to keep my inventory straight. The crew was patient with me and called out numbers as they brought in the boxes so we could place them in priority and room order. They hauled countless heavy totes up 20 stairs, more times than I could count. We had one small item get broken, and it was a complete accident not due to carelessness. They immediately called it in with instructions on how to handle reimbursement for repair. They were absolutely professional and fast fast fast. We all stopped for a lunch break and they powered through 2 FULL trucks in under 7 hours. Moving is not cheap, but they provided a service that was INVALUABLE at a VERY fair price. The move took less time than the estimate, and we were very happy that the final bill reflected that. This was a very satisfying experperience.
