Update: since my Yelp post I received a voice mail from the office staff at storage outlet Chula Vista informing me that the service elevator had been repaired in my leading up to the second floor of my storage unit in Area E. I visited my unit today to retrieve Easter decorations and as usual the elevator is not working. Everyone on the second floor with inoperable elevators deserve a reduced rate. This has been a long standing problem with no real resolution. In addition, no call or letter from the area manager. I guess he is too busy for customer feedback and resolution. read more

Do not use this business. Staff is aggressive and dismissive. Service elevators have been broken for years. For the price, I would rather have lit the money on fire. At least it would have kept me warm. Ironically this business did catch fire recently. Probably trying to put itself out of its misery. read more

Just a heads up for new customers !!!! They are raising their prices and have not repaired the lift for 2nd floor customers. Per management (Karla) "we put in a order for repair " When asked when was the order was submitted, management responded "A while ago" Increased prices without improvements ......... I would definitely select another storage just based on prices and customer service. read more

The lift on my unit didn't work and hasn't worked for weeks. When I contacted management they gave me a number to corporate offices on Saturday. Guess who doesn't work on Saturday. I had a hipreplacement 2weeks ago. Paul said that the best he could do is to offer me the use of the dumpster.Not a clue. read more

Paul and Karla went out of their way to help me find the right unit. A ground floor unit with easy access. For being a first time storage unit renter they made it very easy minimal paperwork it took only 15min to view and get me signed up. You can't go wrong renting here. By far the cheapest in Chula Vista I checked several in the area and none were priced this good. This place broke into my place more than once! Both times they took a computer & laptop. But what was worse is that they stole my identity by robbing my personal documents from 2 boxes I had in there. My passport, birth certificates, tax returns, my daughters social security; my daughters baby pictures. I had never felt so violated in my entire life! I reported it right away but it was a Sunday & the office was closed. I filed a report right away & the police came the next day to investigate, they even talked to the office people; but they both were acting weird! And Liz the office girl said she even found my passport & some important papers in the dumpster; which I thought was strange b'cus how could've she found some of my personal papers when trash gets picked up once a week & the breakin happened a few months prior! Their story wasn't adding up. Anyhow the cops had nothing to go on. They said it could've been the unit next to mine, however they moved. But my instincts kept pointing towards that office girl Liz & her accomplice. Also, the lights in my hallway where unit was were always down! Every time I went , I had to go upstairs & deal with the darkness cuz them office people never did their job! I'd call them to let them know, but still lights were down! Then they also had bums living there! Homeless people & just shady people, it made it hard to go by myself when these bums that lived there were around me. It made me feel so unsafe. So do your research before deciding to do business with this storage facility. I give it zero stars!!! Never ever again! read more

This place has still not addressed the water damage to my belongings in my storage unit going back to March. Items were destroyed and mold has gotten on many things that are simply list now . Pros: This place is cheap Cons: the interior is wood which means moisture and mold is an issue with ocassional puddles on the floor. I had mold growing on several of my items. I had 2 different units there and was there for about 3.5-4yrs. Online bill pay doesn't work half of the time Once they had them put a lock on my stuff for weeks, nobody knew why or who put it on... Yet corporate refused to give me money back for the 2-3wks I was locked out of my own storage due to their fault! They conveniently lost all of my emails and asked for proof... Phone calls and verbal conversations apparently "didn't count" The worst thing about them hands down is corporate! I moved out after sending them messages via their website as they don't display their public email. Plus nobody ever writes back unless it's to say "call us" with no helpful info. I told their employee weeks in advance, emailed them and tried to "notice to vacate" button on their site but it failed each time. Now they are "not budging" as usual and even though I moved out the day they told me to, they won't give me the prorated amount for half of the month. Suddenly their emails are nowhere to be found and a verbal notice "doesn't count"... The contract IIRC didn't say it was mandatory, it was a courtesy notice.. So why am I now having to fight to get a refund when I made every attempt to vacate and inform them yet they are in denial? Morons. I do not recommend this place due to the greedy management. read more
