    This Hiram location use to have outstanding customer service. However, it has gone downhill and…read morethe policies and staff are not very helpful or customer friendly. I signed a contract with this place and they increased my units rates without proper or notice. They constantly threaten to auction your belongings. They also place a lock on top of your lock if you are 3 days late on getting the units paid. I recently had a family emergency or death of a mother to come back to a lock over my lock and auction threatened for being a little behind because of my situation even though contact was constant with them. I would not or will not do business with this company again.

    Compass came in this year after taking over the property from the previous owner. We haven't seen…read moremuch improvements except for keeping the property a little cleaner and kicking out the old vehicles parked on the property that were not mobile. The have had 2 rent increases in the past 6 months. We have our rent sent in via bill pay so they automatically receive our payment on time every month. In December they advised us of the 2nd rent increase. By the time we were notified of this it was too late to change the auto bill pay and we had to have a second check cut from our bank for the difference. We called Compass Self Storage in Hiram and advised them of this and that the balance will arrive on 01/06 (our payment is late on 01/07). They called us on the 7th and stated that they received our payment on the 7th and that they can not take partial payments so the first check nor the second check for the balance were processed and that they put a lock on our unit which will cost an additional $20 to remove. They would not listen to us and treated us as if we were poor tenants and they really didn't care if we stayed or moved out. Extremely rude customer service. We requested the home office number which she gave us and then asked when we were moving out. They also refused to prorate our rent if we moved out before the end of the month. Rat infested! Our unit is rat infested to the point where we have lost several hundred dollars worth of merchandise. Congratulations Compass. You have chased away a loyal customer who pays their bill on time.     6 hours ago NEW I am…read morewriting this review to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the experience I had with Uhaul regarding the rental of a tow dolly. The entire process from start to finish was marred by mishandling, untrained staff, and a complete lack of customer care. Upon picking up the tow dolly, it was evident that there was pre-existing damage. While Uhaul staff took a picture of the connection, they blatantly refused to document the condition of the chain. This refusal to acknowledge the damage raised serious concerns about their commitment to transparency and accountability. In my attempt to address this issue, I reached out to the management. Unfortunately, the young lady who was assisting me at the location seemed inexperienced and untrained. She was unable to provide any satisfactory resolution or even basic assistance in handling the situation. This lack of competence on her part further added to my frustration. To seek a resolution, I contacted the MCT, Jerry Singleterry. However, to my dismay, Mr. Singleterry quickly made it clear that he had no intention of listening to my complaint or addressing my concerns. ( I'm guessing this type of behavior has trickled down to his staff) Instead, he outright defended his team, displaying a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. This dismissive attitude was incredibly disheartening and left me feeling unheard and mistreated. Adding insult to injury, Jerry Singleterry (MCT) the representative I spoke with was shockingly unprofessional. He not only yelled at me on the phone but also accused me of lying about the pre-existing damage. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and reflects poorly on Uhaul's commitment to customer service. In an effort to provide evidence of the incident, I requested access to the security camera footage, which would clearly show me, my father, and the U-Haul employee inspecting and working on the tow dolly which wasted over an 2 hours of my time. My 5hour trip turned into a all day trip due to stops to keep replacing the zip ties they had to hold up the chains on the tow dolly. This entire experience with Uhaul has been nothing short of a nightmare, tarnishing what should have been a smooth and enjoyable travel experience for me and my kids. The negligence, unprofessionalism, and mistreatment I encountered from management all the way up to higher management have left me with a strong resolve to never rent from Uhaul again. I sincerely hope that Uhaul takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to prevent other customers from having to endure similar ordeals. As a company that prides itself on professionalism, it is crucial that Uhaul addresses these issues promptly and holds its employees accountable for their actions. In conclusion, my experience with Uhaul was marked by damage to the tow dolly, refusal to document the chain, untrained staff, dismissive management, unprofessional behavior, and a complete lack of customer care.
