Don't take your belongs here. My Grandmothers storage was recently broken into and they stole her jewelry TVs and other belongings. No one is ever there when they should be. The employees are never on sight during business hours. The people that work in the office are inept and borderline ignorant at doing there jobs and have been useless in this situation. So far the people in the office are cordial but the agents on the phone are rude and snarky. The price is reasonable but just like the saying goes there's always a catch for a cheaper price. I gave the benefit of the doubt hoping this wasn't the case but unfortunately it was. I needed a Storage right away so I ended up getting it but not happy when I seen that the walls are wooden, with some corners looking kind of rotten. They did ask me in the beginning what might I bring to the storage. I told them containers and some furniture and a recliner, it's really aggravating to know they failed to tell me straight away about the wooden walls because I don't feel comfortable with possible bug mites living on the wood going and eating up my furniture. read more

I had valuable goods stored. During Covid, they had to cut the lock off to do a fire inspection. Well low and behold, a few weeks later, all my valuables were removed from the unit. The police came and the company promised to review their video footage, but did not. Nothing was done and I was out $10k. Seems like an inside job to me and storage mart doesn't care. Go elsewhere. The only problem I have with this company is they raise their pricing on the units every year. Its not just a small amount but 10 percent of what the unit cost is per year. After starting out with a low cost unit 20 some odd years ago I'm now paying over $260.00 for 2023. I think I will be looking for a new storage unit place. Worst place ever!!! I do not recommend this place. Do not rent here!! You will be sorry.Today I get a confirmation call from the front desk to go into office and when I arrived no one was at front desks. I stood there, for a while and a women with brown hair comes out and says "o sorry, I usually hide back here". Then she try's to look something up on the computer then says oh just a minute that she has to go put her shoes on. She then walks out side to show me the unit I had on reserve and it was loaded with spider webs, The floor was dirty. The outside ground was cleaner than the inside of the unit!! Lol! We used the Storage Mart in Watsonville for 20 years and always paid the fee on time. Recently our unit was robbed not once, but twice in a month. We had valuable things there in safes, but without purchase receipts there is no reimbursement. So we lost thousands of dollars of valuables. We told the office people we were going to move out of the unit. They didn't tell us that we get no refund if we pay for a month and move out before the last day of the month. When we complained they shrugged and said "Corporate policy." This is how they treat long term customers. Pathetic!! read more

I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one! The employee of the Storage Mart was so kind, helpful, honest and kept everything clean. It was such a pleasure renting a space from them. It became very obvious that this employee put the customer first and not just the storage facility trying to fill an empty unit. Not only were their prices one of the best in the area they offer additional online rate reductions. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone looking for a storage unit. I have moved 4 times in the last 10 years due to my job and have become accustomed to customer service below par at certain self storage and storage facilities. I was overwhelmed with the professionalism I got right in the door from the staff there. Georgette (Manager) and her staff go that extra step to make sure your storage needs are met. All the questions I had and needs were met. The gave me a 24hr move in access which was awesome. The place was clean office was cold from AC they offered water this place was all around. 6 star service. I've been a customer here for a little over two years. I should've written a positive review previously b/c they've usually had good service. That changed today. I went to my unit to get an item and the light inside would not work at all. After fumbling around for about 15 minutes, knocking a bunch of stuff over in the dark, I found what I wanted. On my way out, I stopped at the office just to let them know the light needed repair. The the door bell went off when I entered, I saw no one. When I went to the counter I could hear the microwave, so I called out, "hello". No response. After a few minutes, when the microwave went off, I called out again and got a semi-testy, "just a minute." When the lady came out I explained the problem and was told, "we can't fix it until the 25th." When I asked whether that meant I'd have me fees rebated for this time (1/3 of the month) since it's basically impossible to find anything in there without a light, she replied, again testily, "can I finish?" Now, in the first place, I hadn't interrupted her. In the second, I don't need a lecture for her. And, finally, she went on to say that the reason they needed time was that they didn't have anyone there so to get it done she'd have to call on someone from "up north." She said all of this as though it was my problem. Guess what? - it's not. I explained that, yes, I would prefer that they do whatever was necessary, even the apparently radical step of calling in someone from "up north", to get the light actually fixed. She outlined that they'd have to call me to schedule a time for me to do be there and made it clear that she viewed this as onerous work to put them through. Surprising given that the others I've spoken with there the 3 or 4 times I've been in have been helpful and efficient. I hope this is some kind of fluke b/c I definitely do not want to deal with this again. read more

I would never store anything in this place again. The elevators lock frequently and the on-site people do not have the ability to reset them. This has happened twice to us and during a furniture move to/from a unit on the 2nd story, it is a catastrophe. I made the reservation through the sparefoot.com website. In doing so I was under the impression that I would have 24hr access to my unit and first month rent free. This was not the case at all when I arrived at the facility. 24hr access is for businesses only (my access hours would be 7am-7pm) and I received 99% off for the 1st month and was required to pay the 2nd month in advance (same day of move in). Not good considering my funds were limited and it was too late in the day to go anywhere else. I was not informed of the insurance requirement. I could purchase through them at a rate of $9.95/month or somewhere else of my own choosing. However, I would need to purchase it before I could rent the unit at all. Again, limited funds made this even more of an inconvenience. The grounds were clean and facility seemed secure enough. However, the building desperately needs some TLC. Old and outdated. But what should one really expect for such an awesome rate? I gave 2 stars for the pleasant demeanor of the manager and the low rental rate I received. Lastly, a 2 week notice is required when moving out. I've rented from a few storage facilities in my life and this has never been the case. It kinda sucks but at least I was informed. I've already given my notice to vacate as there are much nicer facilities that fit my needs better and some with little perks for the renter. I have no problem paying a few bucks more for the better. read more

I went to my unit today only to find a storagemart lock on it, locking me out. I was surprised to find this as I have never missed a payment in two years. When I inquired, I was pleasantly surprised and very happy to discover that the lock was securing my belongings as I hadn't engaged the bar completely in the slot before placing my lock on the door. Georgette was a great help getting me set up with good size storage units for a very reasonable price. Not to mention the first full month free. They are the first place that doesn't over charge you a ridiculous amount for a lock and also their security of the units makes me feel comfortable that my belongings are safe. The only negative to this place is that it gets incredibly hot inside the buildings, so don't store anything that can't handle the heat. I searched high and low for a storage space to rent. In comparison with others, there wasn't any as reasonable as Storage Mart when it comes to prices. While preserving a reservation for a unit to rent, I received free rent for the first month and have occupied a space since January of this year. I no longer need the unit but don't want to vacate from good service. I'm totally satisfied due to great security and considerations of the staff (managers) at the store's location. When I had a delay in payment for the month, Georgette patiently waited and excused my issue. I feel as long as you inform management of your setback, they are sure to reason with you within means. I recently moved to Morgan Hills and on my sister's recommendation I chose storage Mart. Upon arrival I moved my truck full of belongings to the wrong unit causing tremendous amount of difficulty for the young man and his manager. The immediate solution would have been for me to move all of my stuff to the correct unit. However, after seeing the pain and fatigue in my face, the young man went out of his way to make things right for me. I used this location since 1997, under various management and name changes. During that time I never had any problems with leaks, crime, or vermin. The current management is the best so far. There's almost always at least one hand truck available, and the corridors are clean and well-lit. Rent increases have averaged about 5% per year. read more
