Super easy to check in love the Bluetooth takes a little to get use to but I like using it instead of a key!

Got a space here about 4 years ago when it was a newish facility. Decided to no longer rent there for several reasons: 1) The rent has increased several times so it is more expensive than it's now worth. 2) Before, the place was kept quite clean. Lately the common areas are often filthy with people leaving trash or abandoning items behind. We see the same trash and debris still in the same spot on different visits, so now there's a lack of custodial maintenance. 3) The biggest issue and dealbreaker is that we found mouse droppings and also a dead mouse in a trap in the corridor. We do not store anything edible to attract rodents, so it is coming in from somewhere else and staying for whatever reason. Other issues to be aware of: a) When a lot of people are accessing their units, there may not be any carts available, or all the carts are clustered at one sliding door vs the other. Best if you have your own cart. b) On some visits, we can hear snoring coming from a unit, so someone may be living in their unit. c) The 10x10 space we got is really only 10x9. (Yes, we measured). d) Info in rental agreement does not always match up with what the office staff tell us regarding some process/policies. e) Over the years, have at times encountered either staff or technology-related issues. The bluetooth technology is convenient when it is working smoothly, however can be inconsistent. Frustrating technical issues can happen such as sliding doors and main gate not operating properly. read more

Th facility has a bad rodent issue. I let Andrew the site facilitor know in 2023 that I seen a rat run out of one unit and into another one and later seen rat droppings in my unit and they have these stupid policy's where the site manager has to come go through your storage with you and make the insurance claim instead of making it yoursel. Andrew never got back to me on my insurance claim and my stuff was badly damaged and they claim that the rodent claim is only 500$ I raised concern about it because rodent urine and feces are very infectious just like the deadly virus we have all witnessed go around on these cruise ship. The district manger spoke to me very badly and after Andrew admitting that he dropped the ball on my insurance claim the district manger apologized but still didn't resolve my issuse. I have a 5000$ insurance policy and now seeing how my high priced belongings are badly damaged they have been rude to avoid my business and not paying me what my insurance policy is worth. I escalated the issue and told them I was going to take legal action against them and they gave my information to their attorney who was very rude and after explaining to him that I had said something about the issue in 2023 and Andrew dropped the ball on my insurance claim he offered me 2000$ and told me I had to sign something stating I wouldn't take additional legal action towards them and for me to move out not to clean my belongings nothing to accommodate me. I stopped paying rent on the storage unit because I can't move that badly damaged stuff into my house and have rats in my home or that diseased stuff around my kids. Storelocals attorney continues to short change me and be disrespectful and now they are trying to auction off my belongings or settme for the 2000$ and move my badly damaged stuff out and sign something saying that I won't take legal action against them. The property has been poorly taken care of since 2023 and pest control has not done for this facilit!!! I will be taking legal action as well as going to the news about this matter. read more

Not bad. It's clean, hours aren't amazing for access, the method to access your unit especially if you're moving is cumbersome and annoying and glitchy since you keep needing to use the app. But I guess for security reasons, I can't complain. I'm more disappointed about the staff--I'm in the middle of moving across the country and of course I'm going in and out of the facility over multiple days to move and get rid of all my belongings, and that means I don't have access to bathrooms except the one here at the facility. A staff member commented on my use of the bathroom as if I were abusing the privilege, as if limited access to the bathroom was part of the terms of service. Yikes, offensive. I might rent here again if really necessary, but I'll undoubtedly avoid the staff in general. read more

WARNING: fraudulent pricing! After several months they decided to increase my rate by 45%!! Please note, this is outside of the two month discounted rate. The store employee I talked to when signing up spent 15-30 minutes explaining to me how they DON'T do these kind of things--and that they only do ~5% rent increases at the most to tenants that have been here for a year+! Too bad there aren't laws protecting tenants from this predatory behavior! Recommend using a storage facility elsewhere where they are honest and have better reviews!! read more

BE AWARE!!! Very unprofessional the dialogue that was presented to me. Ghetto to say the least. Now be aware of the signs that are out that they don't warn you about. They will try to fine you for everything. If you fart you might get fined. If you say hello you might get fined. There are no trash cans on the property just in case you might like to know. You know going through ones storage you might want to get rid of some things and boxes but don't do it here, there are no dumpsters for that. read more

These people are great, very professional and I got such a good deal I can't disclose it here. Insane. For six months, and of course we will see what they do after the six months are up. Fingers crossed it doesn't go up by much. They called this a "discounted unit" by the way. They may still have a few of these available, so definitely ask. The facility is brand new and here's why I would take away one star - they run all the doors on RF frequency and let's just say this "smart building" has all the earmarks of the opening sequence of West World. What could possibly go wrong? Well, in our move in, we had trouble opening the doors to the building, calling the elevator, getting it to go up, then getting stuck in it trying to go down, with no way to reach the outside world, since it is a massive dead zone. That's right! There's all this futuristic stuff using the app to open and close doors and open the elevator, and get into your units, but there's no signal in or near the building, they don't offer shared servers IN THE BUILDING (insane) and it all works on bluetooth. The battery on my phone drained away in half an hour, leaving me helplessly trapped on the upper level with no way down and no way to reach my crew, who were trying to get in. It was pretty creepy, being at the mercy of a smart building. It was very like being trapped in an episode of Black Mirror, the one where you are in a storage facility that has basically eaten you and you can't leave and there's no one anywhere to get you out and no way to communicate with the outside world. That's state of the art storage solutions in 2023, hahaha. Despite all the smart building qualities there is NO intercom to the office on any of the floors in the building. So if you are stuck and can't make anything work, you have to schlep all the way down to the office (assuming you can get out of the building, ymmv) each and every time to ask for assistance. Also, the parking lot around the building slopes, so everyone must constantly be on the watch that your cart doesn't roll away, into the parking lot and into someone's car - or kids. There's ways around this, but it is always awkward. The carts ought to have locking wheels, but they don't. I'll say this, you get used to it and all the measures are to enhance security, which may work, assuming the entire system can't simply be disabled by the cutting of a few strategic wires, hahahaha (I'm sure that it could, but this would trigger alarms and the police would show up, probably fairly quickly, as it is in the industrial part of Oakland and there's lots of cruisers buzzing around there generally.) So, all in all, I'm happy with my units and the price and location and the downsides are not that bad, once you get used to it. You can even pay your bill using the app, or unlock your unit remotely if a family member needs to dig around for the scuba gear or an old gaming system. Chavone was my person who helped me get everything setup for my unit and it was the best experience I've ever had. Before I got my unit she showed me the size that I wanted and she saw that I was handicapped and made sure I got what I needed so I wouldn't have to bend down. I never leave reviews but I had high hopes for this location it looked secure and had reasonable rates. I came by last week during my lunch break, no one was in the office. I waited for about 15 minutes then finally the manager Jayna came out. She asked what I needed and I told her I didn't have much time anymore and she rolled her eyes and said to come back when I did have time because she's busy too. She resumed a phone call on her phone and I could hear her laughing as I walked away. This facility needs more friendly and productive staff. read more

The facility is brand new and high tech, which is nice, not so nice, and sometimes horrible. The nice part is it's reasonably priced and clean. The bad part is that it is accessible for quite limited hours-- only 7am to 6pm or fewer hours if there are technical problems. The horrible part is that I got my car stuck behind the locked mechanical gate and had to leave my car there overnight. This happened because I didn't know that after being let in near to 6pm, everything would be shutting down for the night with me left inside. There was no one to call for help, no override code for customers to let themselves out. So I had to leave my car behind the big facility entrance gates and take a Lyft home then return the next day for my car. When I mentioned this problem to the staff member named Jayna the next day, she told me it was my fault for not reading the 8 page contract I had signed. I said I understood that the hours were probably listed somewhere in the contract but that some good clear signage would be an important addition. Plus it would have been good for the staff to let us new customers know that if the gates let you in at 5:55, you only have 5 minutes to unload without getting stuck inside. Just a nice bit of good customer service and clarification would have saved me a lot of trouble and $70 worth of Lyft fees. Sadly, the staff is more defensive than helpful. It took a guy from the construction crew to listen and agree to getting some clear signage. He also told me this had happened to another guy who managed to disassemble the mechanical gate to break his car out. Unfortunately this shut down a big chunk of the operation for two days while they fixed the gate. Bottom line: this place needs better customer service, signage, and some way to get out if you're somehow still there past 6pm.... maybe even someone to be onsite after hours so no one gets stuck again. **Update-- I did go back and read all eight pages of my contract and no where are the hours listed. There's no warning about getting stuck there. This operation has some serious issues. I will only be using it for a few months until I can find a better place. read more

Went to drop some stuff off at the storage unit arrived around 5:50. No where did it say if I'm not out by 6:00 pm my truck will be stuck here . No signs no warnings absolutely nothing . I see someone already complained about this before me in the reviews but let me afirm that there is no warning anywhere . Had to leave my truck and take Lyft home and Lyft back in the morning plus I was late for WOrK . Unbelievable, the icing on the cake is when I picked up my truck I received a phone call that I will be CHARGED $50 because I got stuck inside the gate . Add the math $25 ride home $25 ride back and $50 fee. That's $100 for a mistake that is the storage unit fault. Can't believe they had the nerve to charge me $50 that's insane. i was not even blocking anything plus I arrived right when the gate opened . So stupid . I appreciate that this place is clean and hi-tech. But their customer service is sub-par - and that's being nice about it. Somehow, despite the hi-tech storage facility, they continue to fail utterly with communications and automatic billing. They just can't seem to get this right. If you need to access your storage regularly, this is probably not the place for you. When something fails - like the front gate which was inoperable for two consecutive days in June - there is no notification. Just a sign on the gate. You use an app to get into the place. Surely they could notify tenants through the app so I don't waste an hour of my time driving over just to find that I can't get in. When they updated their automatic payment system, which I've been on since the beginning, somehow they messed it up so payments didn't go through, the website wouldn't process them, and no one was able to answer questions. This is an ongoing problem and I was just locked out of my unit on the first business day of the month because their automatic payment system failed. No notice, nothing. Just an app that said I don't have access when I drove over there. Really, really frustrating. Probably the worst customer service I've experienced. Unhappy customer. read more

Inconsistent with the quotes. Made reservations with attendant and she did not put it per the new attendant. Then she came back with its three reservation and what she quoted was wrong. Manager thete states she is the district manager and she will not give me the 10by20 ground floor pull access for what i was quoted and confirmed. Stating because she is no longer there and they apologize. This is not good customer service either. Very cocky and they know what the attendant quoted me because its in the computer.
