They have a tasting room at the Old Sash Mill, but I went to a tasting at the estate in Aptos, which is open Fri-Su noon-5. It's very pleasant to sip wine on the patio. They also have a bocce ball court. Two wines stood out: 5/5: The 2024 Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay; it's rubust, sparkly, with tropical notes. 4/5: The 2024 Monterey Sauvignon blanc: Fruity instead of grassy. read more

**Overall 3.5 stars** The wine tasted excellent! In fact, all the flavors were complex and delicious that my friends joined their wine club! The winery is situated on a hill. The road to get up the hill is very narrow that we almost missed it bec it looked like a driveway. Once we got past the trees to an opening, it was like orchestral music started playing when we saw the gorgeous Storrs building! The cement structure was so sleek and modern, yet it was in the middle of this farmhouse kind of area... it was a little shocking, in a good way. I feel bad taking off stars because I actually loved the wine at Storrs, but for the cost of the wine tasting per person, I was astonished at how TINY the pours were. We are talking the tiniest sip. You don't even have enough to swish it in your mouth to get a good sense of the wine on your palette. We thought we were being "punked", except every pour was this miniscule. There is also a strict no outside food policy here, yet they don't sell food. This is a big downside for me because I find drinking wine a great opportunity to sit back and relax with friends, and that includes munching on some food! Counter space was very cramped in the tasting room, and no one greeted us or acknowledged that we entered the building even. We just walked around for awhile until we found a tiny corner to insert ourselves. The set up isn't ideal for when there are multiple groups inside. There are tables in an outdoor patio and one long table indoors, but with the tasting pours being half a sip, you really don't need to sit down. So this is a big downside for me. The wine is delicious, so I think it's worth tasting and buying some wine here. My tip is to go on an off day so you can get better customer service and maybe get more than a 0.00001 ounce pour. Storrs Winery & Vineyards is a quaint, laid-back place with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The property overlooks a beautiful forest, making it the perfect setting to slow down and enjoy a glass of wine. The service was a little inconsistent, but the staff still took good care of us. We appreciated that the winery is both pet- and kid-friendly, which makes it welcoming for the whole family. The wine was good, but what made our visit especially memorable was the scenery and the people. We made several new friends and enjoyed great conversations over wine. My wife and I visited Storrs while passing through the area. We drove up a long driveway to a cold heavy concrete structure. They have lots of forested dog-friendly outdoor seating and a bocce ball court. My wife and I loved some of their wines. The Grenache and Chardonnay were the highlights. The Pinot and Zin didn't fare as well. Overall, their wines offer an intensely fruity and earthy style. The servers were friendly and courteous. However, we waited around 5 mins to get seated. After sitting down, we waited about 20 minutes to get our flights delivered. Throughout the experience, the staff reminded us that we needed to be mindful of our time because they were closing soon. Considering that it took them almost a half hour to get us situated, that didn't seem like it should be our concern. But they repeatedly insisted that it was our concern. read more

Storrs Winery is the best example of the Santa Cruz Mountain appellation. The winetasting experience at the Vineyard is a little non-traditional with all your choices served in small flasks up front. The wine tasting experience in the urban setting in Santa Cruz is more interactive. I've been a wine club member for many years, and I'm always very excited to pick up my shipment. I love the Santa Cruz Mountain Chardonnay, and the Old Vines Zin and it's no wonder they have so many awards hanging up on the wall, their wine is divine. read more

Friendly folk, good wine, nice patio to enjoy it. I prefer places like Storrs--in the hills surrounded by trees. Rebecca and Fernando served me a nice flight of reds. If you love chardonnay, you re going to love Storr's. I have been to both tasting rooms, and I always find the wine, all the varieties, top quality and taste. The tasting room near Corralitos is quiet and surrounded by trees and also has a beautiful indoors tasting room as well as plenty of outdoor seating and a Bocce court. read more

What a great find! We went a few months ago, very spur of the moment after a hike. ;) Had the upper picnic table area all to ourselves and our 2 bottles of red (see my pics). Man I don't know what to make of this place. Looks like a prison with all the cement. Not a great atmosphere. The staff isn't warm but they aren't rude or unfriendly either. Service is alright. The chardonnays are good, especially if you consider the prices of other wineries around the state, these aren't cheap but are certainly more affordable than most. I don't understand how their reds are so drastically different from their whites. Reds are a let down for me. Would only recommend for Chardonnay drinkers. On the same road, I'd have to recommend Storrs over Alfaro, Nicholson and Lester but that's not saying much. They all leave more to be desired. Bummer. read more

We were visiting the winery as part of the SCM Vintners Festival. We were looking forward to tasting there since we have been to the SC Storrs tasting room several times and really enjoyed it. The tasting room employees seemed not to care so much about us being there. They brought us the beakers of wine in a wine bucket, but did not tell us anything about the wines or the wine club or extend themselves in a friendly "glad you stopped by" way. Probably won't be back and makes us not want to buy their wine. read more

Wow...this place has gone downhill. They literally brought a bucket of lab beakers with tiny pours to us. No explanation, no discussion, nothing. Even when we decided to buy wines, the guy asked if we had our own bag to carry to wine. What??? And they pre-charged $22 per person for this??? What a joke. Avoid at all costs. I had such a wonderful time this summer visiting Storrs Winery! I hosted a small celebration at the picnic tables near the tasting room. The staff was warm and welcoming. We had a tasting reservation for three. Excited to be there, we noted that all tasting was outside on the patio and not in the tasting room. This was fine until we Once we quickly learned that the umbrellas were too small for the patio tables and we had to continually move to escape the sun and heat. This took the fun out of the tasting as we continually adjusted the umbrella and moved around the table. Bottom line, the sun and the heat was unbearable. Plus, the steel patio chairs didn't help. The serving of wine in beakers and then into wine glasses was different, but no one offered an explanation of the wines we were tasting. We had to read the tasting notes off the tasting sheet. Finally, there's a three bottle minimum purchase to wave the tasting fee. As a local, this was our first and last visit. read more

Had a great time here, beautiful location and excellent service by the staff, not to mention the excellent wines. My favorite was their Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay and their Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir. I was impressed enough to sign up for their wine club and will be coming here often. Great tasting wine, but I've never felt more unwelcome from a customer service standpoint. Wouldn't let me buy a glass of wine, their bathrooms "weren't working", and they don't wave tastings if you buy a bottle. The employee manning the tasting room even kicked the people out at the table behind us because they'd been there there over an hour. And they had even bought a few bottles!! There were a bunch of empty tables too. Their pours were super tiny and we drank and left. Won't be back. read more

Beautiful location on Pleasant Valley Road in Corralitos Area. Still new, great location, clean environment and easy to access. Loved the wines. Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Petit Sirah were all delicious and price point was excellent. Pleasant conversation with pourers, very knowlageable about the wines, their sourcing and the history behind the varietals. The big negative that I had, was that after purchasing 6 bottles of wine, we were still charged $15 each for the tasting. That left a little bit of a bad taste in our mouths regarding the experience. I am much more inclined to go to some of the other options in the area that will waive the tasting fee wif the visitor purchases some of the wine read more

This is my first time posting a review. I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with our wine tasting experience at Storrs Winery. we visit many wineries and this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had! My husband and I had first tasted the wine ( Sauvignon Blanc) at Cafe Cruz in Santa Cruz and liked it so much that we decided to visit the winery. The guy at the front counter was very unfriendly and acted very put out that we were even there to taste wine. We sat on the patio and waited 15 minutes for him to bring out the beakers of tastings in a bucket with no explanation whatsoever of what we were tasting. When I asked him a question he snapped at me! I was perplexed as to why someone like this would be in a customer service roll. We ended up buying 7 bottles of wine ( $240 worth ) with no tastings comped ( $44 in tasting fees) the wine is excellent but the service is horrendous and they were'nt even busy. I will not be back in the future and will make sure to tell all my friends about my awful experience! read more

Great wine, great location, I enjoyed my time at this location with my girlfriend. We especially enjoyed the fireplace section, it offered a certain amount of privacy and an excellent view to enjoy the wine. While service was slow at times it was understandable given the number of tables and customers relative to the number of staff. read more

On a recent vacation my friend wanted to try some local wines so I brought her to the Storrs' Corralitos location. There were two flights offered and we tried one of each. We liked the presentation of the wine in small self-serve flasks...very Covid friendly...we also saw them sanitizing the common area...a very relaxing afternoon in the beautiful courtyard. We have tasted at Storrs a few times prior to this last one, and I have to say, this past time was an incredible disappointment. For $22/pp tasting fee I (and my group) expected a much more personal experience than a bucket being brought out and dumped on our table with no explanation, no apology, no friendliness, and no attempt to make our experience worth coming back. When I compare this with Nicholson, which we tasted just prior, it's night and day. We really expected much more for the tasting fee and then there was no comping for the fee if we bought anything - which most wineries do - and then when I bought 6 bottles the employee asked if I brought my own bag for it. Really? Wow! I have been to wineries all over the world and throughout California and I have NEVER been asked if I brought my own bag for the wine. And - I LIKE Storrs wine! I had just ordered a glass in the Gastropub the night before. We've bought wine when we were there previously. Just really disappointing. I can get Storrs wine in the store and in a restaurant. Part of the tasting experience is the interaction with the staff and the knowledge and friendliness they share about the wine and the winery. Completely lacking this time. I won't be back. read more
