We ended up leaving with the Ananda Pinot Noir and a C3 Chardonnay that wasn't offered at the Pescadero location. They offer the same flight of 6 wines at both locations. My favorites are the Rose and Integrato Pinot Noir. Nobody was there when we arrived mid afternoon. After an hour, every table inside and out were filled. Katie did an impressive job catering to everyone on her own. We greatly appreciated her service, big kudos to her. This tasting room is connected to a shoe shop, so you could literally bring your glass over and shop while you sip. I liked the beautifully crafted hardwood tables inside, they really elevate the room and tasting experience, haha! I am not usually a Pinot Noir drinker, so if you're not either, I say don't be shy, give it a try!

Both times I felt like an outsider and that I didn't belong there. The first time I went in I chalked it up to them being busy and so I just purchased my wine and left. This time I went with a group of friends and initially we were treated ok. But then when the locals began to arrive (3 different elderly couples and an older gentleman by himself - all Caucasian and all what I would describe as "old Aptos money." The service then changed drastically - myself (Latina), two other friends (both Latina) and my fourth friend (Black) all noticed the change in atmosphere. I appreciate the employee was busy, that did not explain her change in attitude to us or lack of wine in the pours. We each ordered a flight and each taste was a swallow. We have gone to other wineries in the past and the pours were always generous. In addition we had to keep hearing how she wanted to use up the wine that was already opened and not open new bottles because after today the shop would be closed and that wine would go to waste. NEVER have I had such a negative experience at a business in Santa Cruz county - and I go out frequently. Myself and my 3 friends discussed the incident at length after leaving. And we all agreed - I guess people of a certain race and privilege are always welcome at this wine tasting spot. By people of color are not. Got it. PS I'll still drink the wine - but I will no longer be purchasing it at this location.

The road to get up the hill is very narrow that we almost missed it bec it looked like a driveway. The cement structure was so sleek and modern, yet it was in the middle of this farmhouse kind of area... it was a little shocking, in a good way. I feel bad taking off stars because I actually loved the wine at Storrs, but for the cost of the wine tasting per person, I was astonished at how TINY the pours were. We are talking the tiniest sip. You don't even have enough to swish it in your mouth to get a good sense of the wine on your palette. We thought we were being "punked", except every pour was this miniscule. There is also a strict no outside food policy here, yet they don't sell food. This is a big downside for me because I find drinking wine a great opportunity to sit back and relax with friends, and that includes munching on some food! Counter space was very cramped in the tasting room, and no one greeted us or acknowledged that we entered the building even. We just walked around for awhile until we found a tiny corner to insert ourselves. The set up isn't ideal for when there are multiple groups inside. There are tables in an outdoor patio and one long table indoors, but with the tasting pours being half a sip, you really don't need to sit down. So this is a big downside for me. The wine is delicious, so I think it's worth tasting and buying some wine here. My tip is to go on an off day so you can get better customer service and maybe get more than a 0.00001 ounce pour. The patio and grass area was very pretty, filled with lots of plants and even a sculpture. The property is also next to a plant nursery, so that added to the beauty even beyond their property line. We were helped by Melissa, and she was great! They had two tasting flights of 4 wines to choose from on our visit, one of which included a white and reds, while the other was all reds. They did also have some extra bottles open, so they were able to make an all white wine flight for one in our party. The pours were a good size, enough to really get a feel for the wine and share a taste with others. Two of us ended up taking home the same bottle of pinot noir.

Not our responsibility to keep track, and if you did an extra pour what is the big deal? The comment made us feel uncomfortable, we stayed and purchased a bottle from their reserved red wine. This Saturday we went with another couple and my granddaughter. All was fine untill our third pour, we paid extra for the reserved tasting and it was a splash not a tasting pour. We discussed if we should say anything at all, and we decided to ask for a decent pour. My husband went in , talked to Aaron, he declined and dismissed us. Aaron said we had a decent pour, even though he was not around to see what was poured?? Typically a winery allows more than the 4 or 5 tasting, how else will you know if you like it enough to purchase a bottle. If a winery treats members that way it's time to end membership, and we did. Staff is like family at S V, we got the cold shoulder once my husband spoke with Aaron. We paid for our tasting, tipped our server. We will not revisit this establishment again. It was a nice place till it wasn't We have too many wineries nearby to allow staff to make you feel a certain way.

But don't worry there isn't any additional charge. :) I definitely recommend this winery if you happen to be close-by. Or if you just want a change of scenery.
