She was never in depends when she was home. She's drastically declined since she's been there. The workers never put her dentures in correctly and are overwhelmed with other patients. She always was so beautiful and now shes so unkempt, hair not washed, sweaty. Shes just not being taken care of the way she should. There are way too many patients per nurse. They say she's combative and that's part of the disease, they medicate for it. It seems to me she's lucid, knowing that she doesn't live there, then she gets so medicated that she sleeps through meals. Yes she's losing weight. Yes her dementia is advancing horribly. I think this place is a big part if her advancing.

The PT/OT is wonderful. I would say the best in the area. But the aides, the ones who do the hands…read moreon care, for the most part are terrible. There are some who care, but the majority know it is hard to get help and it shows in their attitude. Most of the nurses feel it is beneath them to help a resident get to the bathroom, and since there are not enough aides, you could wait 40 minutes for help. If you have someone there, it is important to be there with them for the majority of the day, or they will not be helped. The staff is overworked and resentful. My husband was there for 12 weeks and by the end he was begging me to get him out of there.

They were attentive to her needs and mindful of her limited vision. They prepared foods that met her dietary needs and cared for her the way I would have while she was at home. I did not have any worries about her during her stay there, which is a huge statement because I'm rather particular about her care.

Due to the last minute need of finding a rehab for my mother, this was the only place available. My family is frantically trying to find a new rehab but the good places have a waiting list. I'm just trying to keep my mom alive long enough so we can get her transferred-that's how bad it is. It's a shame this place has such bad nursing care because everyone in rehab seems to be great. However if my mom's basic daily needs aren't being met, then rehab isn't going to be effective. I wish I could leave a negative amount of stars.

My mother spent 7 days here after receiving a poor diagnosis from the Flower Hospital palliative…read morecare doctor. The nurse liaison was also way off base. They insisted our mother would be best served in this facility. LESS than 12 hours later we were told by the nurses and social worker that our mother didn't belong here and we needed to find someone else immediately. This was less than 24 hours after receiving a terminal diagnosis. The care was horrible. They made her defecate in her Depends because "it was too difficult" to move her. They confined her to her bed and refused to let her even sit in a chair for the same reason. My mother weighs 150 pounds. We were told my mother bit someone and was constantly agitated. This is after 24 hours of asking them to provide the proper medications for her because "they couldn't get hold of them". The clinical director later said she absolutely did not bite anyone. They ruined her chances of getting into a hospice nursing home because of the biting report and keeping her on Haldol to keep her sleepy and compliant. They they told us the doctor was taking her off of inpatient hospice and we would need her to begin paying $270 a day to keep her there. The nurses were rude and brusque. They literally laughed in my mother's face when she asked for something that didn't make sense because of her dementia. This was one of the worst experiences of our lives. My three sisters and I couldn't wait to get my mother out of this facility. It made us sick to watch how she was cared for. The building may look nice but it's rotten to its core.

The therapy team provided excellent services for my 94 yo Father. There were some very caring…read morestaff, but they were stretched too thin trying to provide care for the patients needing rehabilitation and completing admissions and reviews. No one should Have to wait two hours for a pain pill or have to argue with staff to get their medications. No one attempted to engage my Dad in activities and left him In bed most of the time unless my sister or I was there to get him up. There were frequent mistakes with food orders and many times staff didn't know where to Find orders for the food or the wrong food, which my Father wouldn't eat, would be brought to him. We were only invited to one treatment team, and my sister and I have DPOAHC. My father was seen by physician at admission, but not while there after that. NP was contacted for orders, but didn't have physical contact with my Father. We were the advocates for our Father. We worry about those who don't have advocates. It was a pretty facility but we don't feel it warranted the 5 star quality service indicated by others.
