A few months later we received a bill from ACCA because they didn't bother sending the information to the insurance company. I called the insurance company, let Dr. Jones at ACCA know they didn't have the information. I called the insurance company back to double check with the exact date of service and the name of the person who should have sent the info. They verified they had no record of services being rendered on that date. I again let Dr. Jones know, but never heard back from her. I assumed she had followed up. But today I get a letter from a collection agency saying my account is seriously delinquent. In my opinion, it is service provider's responsibility to provide the information to the insurance company so they can pay. It's not a large amount of money, but it's the principal of the thing. If for some reason the insurance had denied the claim, I would fully understand it's my responsibility and would have paid. But if you don't file the claim, how do you expect to get paid ? Unprofessional. I would avoiding Adult & Child Counseling Associates, and Dr. Margaret Jones.
