Zane was our original salesman and then Vernon Kevlar was our installer of vinyl tile in our kitchen. Vernon did a wonderful job one our kitchen floor. He was very personable and arrived on time every day for our four day project. He did a great job on removing our ceramic tile and subfloor and installing the new subfloor then the vinyl tile and new stained baseboards which he let me stain as I wanted and then he installed. Quoted a better price than the other place I checked, the crew showed up as scheduled and did a great job, and were friendly and polite. So, this place has consistently delivered some of the more fair pricing I have seen to date. Along the way there were some hiccups but Zane the store owners son did a great job dodging through the traffic of the minor missteps that took place. I would highly recommend at the very least going here for a estimate which does cost $30 but the owner again is very FAIR and isn't trying to waist your time in this very sometimes complicated process. I won't over indulge you with all the details of my complications, but I will say Stouts went above and beyond my expectations and the rugs were amazing. Lastly, I have now purchased two major orders from this establishment and both teams that installed our carpets were friendly and went out of their way to make me comfortable with the work. Flawless install from what I can tell, this place hires people who care about their work. If you go to Lowe's or Home Depot you might not be as lucky as we were. read more

Recently purchased carpet for my whole home. My problem is with the installer (K&L Flooring) that Stouts uses. I just had brand new walls installed and painted in my gameroom and up the staircase. The carpet installer damaged all the walls. Every single one. When I pointed out the damage to him, he 1st blamed the contractors that I used and then he said he would be out to make the repairs. Well, he cancelled twice. (1 time he said his knee hurt and the 2nd time he said he was to busy with stouts schedule). If his knee hurts so bad that he can't paint, then how is he too busy from doing carpet installs??? The 3rd time he finally showed up, was only here for 20 minutes and then told me he was done. (He was swearing while he was here, which i do not appreciate that language in my home.) A majority of the damage was still there PLUS now I have paint streaks and drips on the walls. These walls were brand new and in perfect condition. There was no damage done to them before this installer came out. I am so disappointed that stouts recommends installers like this. In response to Stouts comment, 1. I gave you longer than 10 minutes. The "repairs" were completed at 9am. I posted this review a few hours later. 2. I NEVER kicked Lorin & Krystal out of my property. That is a straight out lie. Lorin was knocking on my basement door to get my get my attention. I opened the door and he said they were finished. (They were only there not even 20 minutes). I looked over the "repairs" and told them there was still damages and he started swearing at me about the "shitty ass contractors" and he and Kyrstal left, slamming the door behind them. (The fact that you publicly made that false statement is enough for me to sue you for slander) 3. I understand the scratches are from the carpet backing, however the damage is not minimal. I only posted 3 of 45 photos. The scratches are on all 4 of my brand new walls and up the entire stairwell on both sides. Not minimal at all!!! 4. I have given you several weeks to make this right. Twice Lorin cancelled on me AFTER he was the one that selected the days to come out for the "repairs". The 1st time he cancelled was because his knee hurt. The 2nd time he was too busy because of the new installs you had on his schedule. If his knee hurts him so bad, why was he able to do carpet installs but he couldn't do a simple paint job to fix the damages he caused? 5.The carpet install was only supposed to take 2-3 days. It ended up taking a week. The installer only worked until about noon each day. 6. Your comment of telling me that I have been very difficult to work with is another lie. When I came into Stouts initially, everything was fine. IN FACT...I was given a discount upfront for being so nice. And it was appreciated. I also stated how I have used Stouts several times in the past with no issues. I never used this installer though that you referred/assigned to my home. Things did not get "difficult" until I pointed out the damages to your installer and tried to get them repaired. 7. The $200 credit you are trying to offer me does not come close to covering the cost to have my entire basement and stairwell repainted. This has not been resolved and its Stouts Carpet and K&L Flooring that does not want to resolve it. I have been more than patient during this. My brand new walls are still damaged!!! In response to Stouts again... 1. The downstairs not being finished is reference to the baseboards and doors. They could not be installed until the carpet was complete. Any contractor knows that. 2. It is the upstairs that is not finished. Which is why I didnt complain about the damage to the walls upstairs. They still need to be painted. 3. Your offer for $200 for damage to my brand new walls and paint is a joke. 4. Never at any point was my 1 star review removed from this site. 5. I didnt say anything about the magistrate until Lorin and Krystal were out of my front door and on the porch. Lorin's "repairs" were already completed at that time. So any recording you may have of me saying that would be an illegal recording. In fact any recording that Lorin has at all is an illegal recording as I did not give permission for anything to be recorded or photographed by Lorin in my home. And yes I did state that I would see him at the magistrate since my walls are still damaged and repaired incorrectly. 6. I asked for the insurance information for Lorin of K&L flooring through an email to you on March 26 at 12:32 pm. I still to this date was never given the information. So how am I to know what insurance company to call? Please get your facts straight before throwing false accusations read more

Thank you for crediting us back the cost of the install. As you know, the gentleman that came to re-install the carpet said it was NOT stretched originally. He said it was just cut and tacked down (the back wasn't even tacked at all and had no padding). I think a credit for the install was appropriate. As for other money back...I'm not sure what you are referring to. The install credit is the only credit we received. As a reminder, the original installer took all the leftover carpet instead of leaving it with us. We paid for something and someone else took it without our permission. I don't call that a mistake. When we purchased it, we were told there would be "a lot" left over. Also, I can appreciate that stuff happens...somebody gets hurt or is sick. However, if you normally send 3 people for a job and now there is only one, maybe the job should be rescheduled. Does it take 3 people or 1? Thank you for trying to make this right by crediting us the cost of install. I do appreciate that. I understand reviews are important...on both sides. People should know that you have really nice carpet, they just need to be aware of who is installing it. read more
