Went in for dinner one evening. Found two open seats at the bar. Place was packed. Typical pub atmosphere. Service was sufficient. They were doing the best they could with the staff they had for the crowd they had. Ordered the beaded tenderloin. Holy smokes was it huge. Took half for leftovers. It was one of the better tenderloins I've had recently. Would definitely go back. Based on watching orders coming out of the kitchen, the tenderloin It's the thing everyone gets. 3.9 rating is a stretch. Food was just ok but all lacked flavor. Lots of draft beer selection but no list of what's available. Cobb salad came with no bacon. Dill sauce for fish didn't have any flavor. Nice place, nice bar. I wouldn't come here food. Riesling was good. Close to the movie theater. read more

The restaurant is in a little strip mall so the parking was shared with other businesses along there. It didn't have many handicap parking spots and I didn't see a ramp so I had to go up a step to get in. The tables were close together so that wasn't easy to navigate if one had a wheelchair or a walker. The place appeared to be clean., but not real covid conscious. We ordered 2 sandwich meals 1 was chicken artichoke and the other was a jumbo pork tenderloin. The food was very good. It came out hot and fresh. Ate here for the first time with coworkers. This is probably the only YELP review with a consistent high rating so why not give it a try lol. It's a small pub with a few tables and they're always busy no matter what day you come. I ordered the prime rib (16oz, but looks larger and delicious), steak (10oz and flavorful), double cheeseburger (nothing special), and the waitress recommended, Blarney Castle (fried pork tenderloin buried in mashed potatoes and gravy is super tender and delicious). The drinks are normal bar drinks. We ordered the Irish Shake (minty ice creamy shake with vodka) and they had a 34oz beer of your choice at a super cheap price. The parking lot is huge. Our waitress, Jenn, was very friendly and fast. She appeared to be so busy, but still managed to attend to us really fast. read more

Went with wife for lunch and wanted something light as I was still comfortable from breakfast. Salad was a bad choice. It was great that they want to serve fresh grilled chicken on the salad however when you mix it in directly after it came off the grill it tends to wilt the lettuce and make it unpalatable.... YUmmm Hot lettuce...either that or it was left out overnight as that was the consistency. Flavor was ok but really underwhelming. In addition neither my wife or myself like the newer style beer battered fries and specifically asked if they were. The waitress insisted that they were not. Fake news they are decidedly beer battered. When I asked her she just sort or shrugged it off. Either I did not explain my dislike completely or she had no clue.. either is completely plausible. Where do I even start with this one. So, I work in the area a lot, and my hotel is near here. I finally took the chance to stop in and check it out. It's definitely a pub, their menu has a large variety and a lot to choose from. Their drinks were awesome, their food was awesome. I got a chicken dish, and the chicken was cooked perfect. Quick service. Everything seemed great and I was extremely impressed with the experience I had here! I figured it would definitely be a regular spot for me in the future. However, things turned wrong when I asked for my check. Our waitress brought it over, I handed her my card, she said "don't you want to see the check?" And I told her "nope, I'm good". I did get a quick glance that it was like $48, but that was about it. When she brought my check back, the price was in the $50's. Unfortunately for her, it was a corporate card so I had to have an itemized receipt to expense. I immediately asked for one in which she replied "oh okay" snatched the receipts she gave me out of my hand, crumpled them, and walked away. When she came back, my amount was back to $48. My point being, check your receipts here. She would have made more of a tip off me if she hadn't had been so sketchy. Really disappointing ending to a great meal. read more

I stopped in Clinton for a couple days and through a thrown-in-the-air decision, my friends and I ended up here. They are locals and told us how great this place is and, as a foreigner to the lands of eastern Iowa, I was excited to try it out. It was great! The atmosphere was limited so seating wasn't hard to get. We were served pretty fast and it all tasted great! I had the Bourbon Charburger, which was good, but I heard the tenderloin burger is a must have. My friends also order the states largest moscow mule of 85 oz (!!!). Four of them handled it pretty easily. Overall, great place and pretty good food! Really enjoyed myself there. read more

I was in Clinton yesterday for a medical appointment and saw a billboard advertising this establishment a couple of miles out. I am not from Clinton so I don't really know my way around. I spoke with a couple of nurses at the hospital and asked them if there were any good places to eat. I heard varying opinions and then I asked about Stout's Irish Pub. They all gave it an enthusiastic endorsement so I vowed to try it out after my appointment was complete. Look, you're not going to necessarily be dazzled by the exterior or the interior. It's pretty average but it's also tidy. What you ARE going to trip over yourselves about...is the pork tenderloin. I like to think I'm some sort of pork tenderloin connoisseur. It's one of my 'go to' meals. Maybe there are restaurants that have as good of a pork tenderloin as Stout's. If they exist, I haven't found them yet. This was the crispiest, crunchiest, tender and absolutely massive pork tenderloin that I have sunk my teeth into. It's about 50 minutes away for me but I will be back and often. Prepare to not be hungry the next day either. Did I mention the tenderloins was massive? Don't miss the opportunity to dine here. You'll be kicking yourself if you pass it up. read more

This was our first visit and was worth the 11 mile drive away from all of our usual haunts. Our server, Courtney, was very attentive and efficient. The Crab Rang dip was phenomenal and will be ordered every time we stop going forward! Our Horseshoe Burgers and fries were really good. Huge portions, enough to take home for a nice lunch. The negative was the beer cheese sauce was extremely salty. That's to be expected when it's obviously from a can. The other negative? Seating us next to the noisy kitchen door when there were a number of open tables with the same number of chairs. Conversation wasn't easy amongst ourselves. While in town doing my thing I wanted to stop for lunch so I wound up here. This is another one of those strip mall chain pub feel type of a place which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The place is small and at 2pm every table was taken with the end of the bar being open, where all the servers hang out and do there thing which I didn't like at all but I sat there anyway. The place is nice enough with lots of rich woods and a nice old school looking ceiling. There was about 21 taps and I had some stout that was the perfect cold temp. I looked over the menu and there was the usual pub/bar offerings but I still didn't like my seat so I asked if I could get take out. Well there was one thing on the menu that is a local or a Iowa thing because it's not on most menus that I have seen which was the jumbo breaded pork tenderloin with frys. First off this thing was fuc#%ng stupid big and I mean the size of your head big. First off it is impressive looking but it's not breaded because it's battered which looked like a beer battered thing of beauty that dwarfed the toasted bun. It came with lettuce, tomato, pickles and red onion on a bed of thin frys. No sauces of any kind to mush up the batter by the way. You have to eat the edges to even get close to the bread and it was nice and crispy/crunchy, seasoned well and tasty to my surprise. The pork tenderloin was tender and juicy/moist on the inside of the golden batter. The thin cut frys didn't look like they would be good but surprise again because they were crispy and soft in the center and seasons well also, potatoes need seasoning to bring out there flavor and they nailed it. I really can't complain about the mall pub and the food was pretty good overall and way better than my last pub lunch. Anyone who likes pork should at least once try the jumbo breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. Overall I had good cold beer and food here so I would definitely recommend stopping by. read more

Coming here I was super excited for a Irish pub. There is nothing Irish besides shepherds pie and Guinness. The menu was less than lacking. We had a horseshoe with beer cheese sauce it was just nacho cheese from a can. We were expecting a good full beer flavor with cheese. I ordered a hamburger which is just premade patties the fries were Krinkle cut with hardly and flavor. Crab Rangoon dip was good but came with chips and not wonton crisp as promised. If I could give constructive criticism I'd say revisit the menu and start making from scratch items. With the rumor of opening another restaurant I'd hate for it to not be successful. This a great place for a younger crowd. Just remember that is basic bar food and if you have any special needs, it will be tricky. We heard all the good reviews about this place, so I, my wile & our daughter traveled from Rock Island to check it out last Sunday. First in-the-door impressions were good, beer was cold, and featured drinks were ok. After ordering, we watched how things were unfolding in the bar. Things didn't seem very organized, with staff running in to each other, getting orders mixed up, and customers waiting for menus. When we finally received our food, everything was cold, not just luke warm, but cold! Obviously it had been sitting at the bar waiting to be picked up for some time. Well, not only is the service atrocious as far as rude servers, but the food is just blah, bland, and in small portions. How EXPENSIVE!!! For the quality, it's not worth it. I've lived in the area under a year and this is my favorite local business to support. The bar/restaurant is great. They have friendly waitstaff, lots of TVs to catch the games, and a great selection of beers. They offer delivery also which is great. Favorite things to order are the boom boom shrimp and Chicken George. They give big portions of good food at fair prices. As soon as this quarantine is over I'll be going in for a drink. We came for the first time last week and it was mediocre. Cute environment and atmosphere! Food wasn't to die for. We got cheese bacon fries (the cheese sauce resembled nacho cheese from a ballpark) with half a slice of bacon crumbled on top. Not super spectacular. The burger was ok. Mac n cheese was weird. went in to stouts with my mom and aunt. I ordered the chicken George with a basket of fries and mandarin oranges. and it was not very good. I don't hardly ever send food back but I wouldn't have even fed that to my dog. when the plate came out I immediately noticed the amount of grea pooling on the top of the chicken. when I cut in to the chicken it was difficult as it was extremely dry in the middle. the fries came out cold and soggy on the plate. needless to say I ate a bite of the chicken maybe two, a few fries and I ate the oranges and sent the rest back. 90% of the food was still on that plate aside from the oranges and we still got charged 17.99 for it Even tho it was barely touched and sent back to the kitchen. the food I received was absolutely disgusting. will not be returning read more

So glad I went to this place. For their beers I had their stout. And then I had their Tip to the Cow beer. Very good beers. Will definitely go back for them and also try others. Was definitely satisfied wit the beer selection. I had there signature grilled tenderloin. Oh so good! This tenderloin was great to the taste. And talk about a huge slab of tenderloin. Simply put, the pork tenderloin with onion rings is my choice if I was to have a last meal. This "sandwich" is beyond any sandwich on the planet. Let the adjectives begin; crispy, tender, juicy, delicious, perfect, Earth-shattering, huge, the best. Simply put, it satisfies the hand to mouth need to satiate VERY well. The stuff of legends and great memories. So worth going off the straight and narrow and making a visit to Clinton! Went there for dinner & was happy to see the on tap beer selections. I was totally disappointed on the taste of the tap beer. It had a distinct vinegar taste. I googled that & it says the beer lines are dirty. Whoever takes care of the tap beer needs to be aware. It would be terrible if anyone got sick from that! read more
