Straight Upp is a really fun place in Aggieville. There is pottery painting which is a drop-in any time process. You can select whatever piece you want, pay for it and a studio fee, and paint away. It takes a week to fire the piece and then pick up is easy. There are also Canvas and Cork events and other crafty projects on the event calendar (see web site). I went to a private Canvas and Cork event this week with the Women of K-State, and it was a lot of fun. We painted a sunflower but got to choose our own background. There were so many creative people in the room! We brought our own wine and snacks. Even though a lot of people made messes, the staff person was not fazed - she said clean up is easy. Went here last night for the cork and canvas event. Had a great time! Even coming alone the group all made me feel really comfortable. It was about a two hour event. We started a little late because we were waiting for a few others to show up. Overall it was a great time and I definitely recommend it! read more

This place is fun but expensive. To paint a small animal and a piggy bank for two kids was over $40. The experience was fun but a little over priced in my opinion. Also they never mentioned that they offer military and student discounts to me (which I'm both) but they offered in to the people in line behind us which was kind of annoying. The group painting sessions are fun. I also enjoy painting pottery there with my daughter to wind down. they leave you alone and you can take your time. I do feel the price can be a bit excessive for what you do and I think there could be some other things to do aside from painting. Macramé, flower pieces, clay, etc. could be ideas? read more

The point of a wedding planner is to have someone who is 100% focused on your event, and incredibly hands on if that's what you are looking for. Straight Upp (also known as Supply Events) does not do this. They are quickly becoming the 'Walmart' of weddings and events, dipping into every avenue. Managing venues, rentals, planning, styling, flowers, photo booths....it all sounds amazing, but I'd be weary. In the wedding industry nothing good comes from a one-stop shop. Picking wedding vendors is very difficult. I can see how you may see this as a relief to find someone who does it all, but you should walk the other direction. There are plenty of wedding vendors in Manhattan and the surrounding areas that specialize in each of your wedding day needs. Do your research and find someone who truly cares about YOU and your big day. Also take note that a lot of the photos they post are not even from their events. Stock photos and photos stolen from wedding blogs are all over their website, Facebook, and Instagram. VERY deceiving (and illegal). read more
