Poor food, high prices, small portions, there's a better food truck a walk away most days

Another accidental discovery when I was exiting Deep Brewing. The Philippine flag sticker was what…read morecaught my eye, as it feels like it's been 84 years since I've had homeland cooking. I ordered the pork sisig and the lumpia. I struck conversation with the lady behind the register and asked her if there was a large Filipino community in the area, as I was shocked to see their food truck. She gave me their socials and told me that they're normally based in St. Marks, but travel around to different events and locations. They give you a buzzer that has a wide range, so you could go back to having a drink in the brewery or sit and wait in the car like I did. Sometimes I'm a bit skeptical about ordering Filipino food as some recipes have been altered to fit the American palate. I've been to many places who screwed up sisig. It's a typical meal to have after a night of drinking. It's my comfort food, so I was still excited to try it. When I tell you that I wanted to cry after the first bite! The pork used was a mix of the typical pig snout and ears and LECHON! It was so crispy and tender. It was a generous portion with rice, so I had enough left over for the next day. The only critique I have is that I wish it had more chili. I will be tracking Murillo's and ordering from them again.

Fabulous Filipino food!! Also super hot and so good. I've been 3 or 4 times. Today I tried the…read morespecial Garlic Rice with Beef and Lumpia. It is so good! The beef is a bit sweet and rice is delicious. Huge portions! The Lumpia is great too one of my favorites. The pancit is good has lots fresh veggies and noodles. I'm so glad Murillo's has come to Crawfordville!!

Uhhhhhhhhh.... Why do I have to be the first Zap Zap review? Well, Ok…read more Oh you haven't had Zap Zap food truck? Loser. JK but for real if you are reading this it's probably because you have the option. Do it. They're.... The best.... We've had these folks food very many times. My go to is the Pad Thai. Hot. It's so authentic and fresh that every time any one in the group has any dish from them they remark on how much better it is than other local Thai. Not to diss some of the other great places but ole ZZ is really on another level. I got Thai hot pad Thai once. Haha. Stupid me. Listen, I finished it. And I cried. And I swear. And cried. It was so good and it hurt me so bad. Man.... I'll stay my white butt with hot now. But ya got to live. Today when I just noticed no reviews on these guys we are having gyoza, and krab Rangoon with a sesame chicken/fried rice to go. Gyoza and Rangoon are really next level. A more delicate and high culinary take on these typical appetizers. Zap Zap is really equivalent with a very nice sit down restaurant here. Sesame chicken we only got because I just noticed it off hand and was surprised to see a Chinese dish... so we are trying it right now. It's several tiers above local Chinese restaurant sesame chicken. These folks have it figured out. Just get it. Zap Zap is S-tier Thai food that's making some s-tier Chinese food. They need more reviews. If you see their truck do yourself a favor.
