(Called New Ming Tree on Google) When placing our order, one of us did not select a rice upgrade for the beef and broccoli, assuming it would come with white rice as is standard at most restaurants. Instead, it was served with a brown, whole-grain style rice. Nowhere on the ordering platform was this substitution mentioned. My partner also paid an upcharge for chicken fried rice. Not only was the same whole-grain rice used, which is not typical for this dish, but the container contained only one piece of chicken. It is unclear how a dish can be presented as chicken fried rice when there is almost no chicken included. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. I am not sure if white rice is unavailable at this establishment or if this was an oversight, but the lack of clarity regarding the rice and the extremely minimal amount of chicken are both unacceptable. read more

Take out kinky during Covid but same great food as dine in. They were also very accommodating with my fish allergy and fried my egg rolls in new oil (not used for fish). That was really very special to me. The food was very well seasoned and still hot when I got to the office (like a 30 minute drive). This restaurant used to be quite nice, it had a great interior, with good food. However, they have had their dining room closed since 2020, and the food has gotten worse every time I've went here since. It's gotten to the point where I have to stop because all three of the separate orders my family received tasted awful, and made us all quite sick even after we could barely eat it. Came in for lunch. Ordered the shrimp lo Main from the lunch menu. Came with soup. Got the wonton. It was nice and hot and tasty. Food came out not long after. Good amount for a lunch plate. The Ming Tree in Crawfordville is my favorite Chinese Restaurant, but that is because the food is fantastic. I give the store 4 of 5 stars because its decor could be a bit nicer, it isn't bad (especially by the generally low standards set in Crawfordville - the home of strip mall dining), but it is not good and would be rejected in many other communities. The staff are fantastic, friendly and attentive. They generally remember how people like their orders and can help re-create them in the future. The last couple new years the also gave out neat calendars to their customers as a way of saying thank you. One of the things that I like about the Ming Tree is their willingness to substitute and adjust orders for dietary restrictions or request. I go back and forth on what I order - the Orange Chicken or the Curry Chicken (but subbing in Tofu for the chicken in both orders). I have never been disappointed. Additionally, the cost of the meal is incredibly inexpensive. This may go back to the decor points at the start of the review, but their lunch special is $6 and comes with a large serving of food and sides. I find that it is easy to make bad Chinese meals. I have tried Chinese food around the world and throughout the United States- and the Ming Tree does the best job. Their food has a lot of Flavor that just can't be beat. It isn't too greasy. It seemed as though we were bothering the staff by asking for service. Crab Rangoon was crab free. Fried rice was just that no veggies. Egg roll was super greasy. Not sure if the oil was old or if it was over cooked. The drink cup smelled like mildew. The only reason this got three stars is because the main dish had great flavor. The food was hot and came out fast. Like crazy fast. Outside of that it is definitely not worth the 40 dollars we spent or repeat business. read more

My husband and I were craving Chinese and saw the review on here so we thought we'd give it a try. Dominique was our waitress. She was very friendly, knowledgable and checked on us regularly. The food was so delicious! From the crab rangoon, to the fried rice to the bourbon chicken to the sweet & sour chicken - ALL EXCELLENT!! Traveling after a visit to Wakulla Springs and this place showed up on the radar. The building is in a small strip mall. Ate in simple dining area. Most of our dishes needed to be hotter. Hot and Sour soup just OK, egg rolls greasy and cabbage almost sauerkraut like-I liked it. Crab Rangoon huge w no Karan-again I love led it. Ordered steamed vegetables that had a white garlic sauce- very good. The star of the show was the orange beef perfectly fried no overly burdened coating soooo tender w a wonderful dried orange sweet sauce . With chili oil it had a nice kick. If zero stars were possible, this place would receive zero. The sushi order was identical in circumference to a dime and was not good - hard rice and chewy fish. It was like eating a quasi-stale mini-marshmallow. The Chinese entrees ordered left a lot to be desired. The lemon chicken entree was chicken-less, the lemon sauce was extracted from a jelly donut, which when coupled made the lemon chicken more like a glazed donut than lemon chicken. I've eaten in alot of Chinese Restaurants in my life. Happily, I always say I've never had a bad meal. This is no longer the case. My order from Ming Tree Garden in Crawfordville was well below average. The ribs were old and dry. The eggrolls were over cooked. The crab Rangoon was tolerable. The shrimp lo mien was bland as was the pork lo mien. The noodles of both lo miens were either overcooked, old or both and had little flavor. My wife said they tasted pasty. On the upside, the moo Shu pork was average but lacked flavor and the accompanying pancakes were slightly stale and stuck together as if they have been wrapped quite a while ago. The worst part is that do not have dine in. So, the savings on not having wait staff, busboys, dishwashers and maintenance people is a plus for the owner. Which is why I wonder why all the prices are higher than the prices listed on the internet. They must be saving money on IT service as well. As you can probably figure out, that will be my first and last visit there. Honestly, I was hoping it would have been great. read more

Not quite sure how this place got 5 stars. Very disappointed! Ordered crab Rangoon-hardly any crab & cream cheese inside. They need to add more because you can barely taste it-mostly the crunchy part. Chicken fried rice was dry & VERY FEW, SMALL pieces of chicken.
