I've been going to Strande's exclusively for about the past 2 years. I am a full time Lyft driver so I consistently need to have work done on my car, and every time I choose to bring it here because the workers are so honest, respectful and straight forward. In addition, anytime the repair is minor or cosmetic-related, I'm usually not charged. I trust these guys to give me the lowest and best prices in town and also to not try and convince me of repairs I don't really need. Been going to these guys since 2011. Always seems like my car comes back with more problems than it started with. At one point I went to grab my car and when I asked if they replaced the back light, they said yes and it wasn't even touched, still didn't work at all... I spent my stimulus fixing my coolant with them and here I am 6 months later with a coolant issue. I'm assuming they just poured coolant sealant after flushing it and charged me 600. They like to say things are under warranty but instead they tried to tell me the leak is coming from a "different area" now when My friend checked my car and said it's a coolant leak... They recently "fixed" my breaks and when the owner handed me my keys, he said my car had leaks but didn't even give me the respect to tell me I had two head gasket leaks and just went ahead and charged me for the breaks (which still seem to squeak when I reverse and clank when I drive). When I brought the car in a week later, he diagnosed it as head gasket leaks without even bringing my car in to check it, so if it was that easy to diagnose, why couldn't he have told me when I was in getting my breaks done? Every time I go in and ask about issues with my car, they give me an estimate without even bringing my car in to properly look at it and never actually look at all the issues I originally asked about. My car was shaking like crazy and when I went in to get that fixed along with another issue they never brought my car in to check it and just quickly diagnosed the other issue. When I asked about the issue they seemingly forgot... again.... they said "I haven't brought the car in to check for that because of the leak" . I've spent thousands here and won't be spending anymore money and time with them. Half ass jobs and liars. Cars come back with seemingly more issues and they don't actually listen and fix what they're supposed to fix. Would go elsewhere. read more

My air stopped blowing cold and I found out the condenser had a hole in it. TJ was extremely nice and very knowledgeable! He explained to me other things that needed to be done and what was highly recommended. Their pick up and drop off services are very convenient especially if you're working from home. We were referred to Strande's Garage from a friend of a friend. We were not near our home, nor do we have a trusted mechanic we could call, so we crossed our fingers. By far the highest, most excellent customer service and engine repair place around. Was in town for just a day and my car broke down; they fixed it in 5 hours and gave me a very reasonable price for it! Was also super happy to hear that home mechanic had ripped me off by putting a crappy part in there if I lived here in Denton area, they would be the only place I go to. read more

Although I don't typically trust garages, considering they are known to misguide women, it came from a reliable source, and I really needed the service. I can't express how thankful and completely satisfied I am with the knowledge, friendless, and professional service I received. I'd give this business 6 stars if I could. They are absolutely one of the best garages I've dealt with in a very long time. I was considering buying a used car, but wanted to have it inspected for any possible problems beforehand. I spoke to one of their mechanics, TJ, who was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I was able to go directly from the dealer to the garage, where the car was placed on a lift almost immediately. He thoroughly inspected the car (including computer diagnostics) and informed me of the possible problems. These guys are great! They really do care about what's best for your vehicle and not just the service you came there for. I went in for an oil change and the mechanic helped break everything down from the service to the extra checks. They found out my tires were low on pressure and that I needed more engine coolant. My radiator had a crack and I had to buy a new one.. Got one at autozone (who cares), anyway I called all around town on quotes to switch out my radiators.. I got some for $300 and some around $200+ - after calling Strande's Garage he quoted me for $162 for installation, plus fluids and tax came out to be $188.. Got my car in and out quickly, very nice guy, I will definitely be going back there if I need any other repair work. Tell everyone, he deserves your business. read more

Strandes offers outstanding service and excellent prices. I have two sons attending the University of North Texas. Strandes has worked on vehicles for both sons a few times. The service is fast, and they don't recommend work that is not needed. They just fix it and done. do not take your car here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this place is a complete rip off and the owner will not back up his work! i had an a/c compressor replaced a few months ago for $1007.24 (which is double the price of other mechanics.) now kevin is wanting $850 to replace the kit. another mechanic shop i took the car too said this should be under warranty and if the mechanic is honest he will honor his work. if i would have bought a new a/c compressor at orielly's it would have cost $269.99 and the labor would have cost me $250 at an honest mechanic shop. read more

Frankly, the most honest shop in Denton! I've been here twice and both times they were as honest as could be. First the shop came highly recommended from my father who was a mechanic in Denton for 30 years (now retired). The first time I went in it was to have the spark plugs changed on my 2006 Mercury Mountaineer. This is something I would have normally done myself but the Ford 3V 4.6L V8 has a very weird spark plug design and the job takes a good mechanic about 4 hours. Because its been over 100 degrees this summer I didn't want to do it myself. Kevin (the owner of Strandes) gave me a quote and told me to fill the tank with a high concentrate fuel injector cleaner. He said it would save him some time, and as a direct result save me money =) I ran the cleaner and took it back a few days later. He finished in half a day and about $200 under his quoted price! I've almost never seen that with a garage before. Most garages will charge you by the book even if it takes them less time, not Strande's. Work was done well, quick, and under estimate. Within 1500 miles of visiting Strandes the first time my radiator sprung a leak (very common on Ford Explorers and Mountaineers!). This time I just decided to stop in. I was on his side of town and the leak wasn't bad enough to leave me stranded or have the engine run hot. I just wanted him to look at it. I pulled in and they got me in for a pressure check (which they didn't charge me for btw) within 5 minutes. The mechanic there found the leak, and said the radiator was toast (which is what I suspected). Kevin said they could get it fixed right now if I wanted. Since I didn't want to risk engine damage or sitting on the side of the road in 107 degree (107!!!) Texas heat I agreed. Kevin even gave me a lift home since I couldn't find a ride on such short notice. During the car ride I told Kevin that if any of the radiator hoses need to be replaced just go ahead and replace them. I gave him carte blanche to make some more money with that statement. When I arrived to pick it up he told me that the hoses didn't really need to be replaced yet. I was ready to pay for it but he was up front and honest and told me that it didn't need to be done right now. So once again they fixed up in a few short hours, under budget with no BS. They even cleaned up the excess coolant from the engine bay and undercarriage... most mechanics would just let it burn off naturally leaving you to smell it for weeks. Its the little details that show they actually care about you as a customer. Anyway, since my dad has retired (bad shoulders) I send all my friends family, co-workers there and I haven't heard a single complaint from any of them. They often do things for free, and often include things that other shops charge for. Don't take your car there. I had a radiator replace there. Very poor work done. It seems this place has their favorite customers. They don't treat everybody the same. If you are a regular customer, they will treat you fairly. But if you are coming there for the first time, be careful they will try and rip you off. As for my radiator, they didn't tighten the transmissions lines. I had to go back and redo much of the work that they did. Pretty sorry. Watch out for the old lady who works in the office. She is a rip off. These people who are writing these good reviews about this place are long time friends of the people who work there. If you are new to the area, better take you car to Goodyear or Firestone. Strandes won't stand behind their warranty. In fact, they don't even want to give you a receipt for the work that they perform.. read more

I was on my way to work on a Friday evening when my car overheated. I was referred to Strande's by a co-worker that had gone there earlier in the week and knew that they would be able to tow my car to their garage. Let me just say that I have never been so impressed by a garage in my life. Not only did they have a tow truck at my location 15 minutes after I called, but their staff stayed late on a Friday night to diagnose my car and order the parts I needed so they could have it fixed as soon as possible. When the mechanic, TJ, called to explain what was wrong with my car, he went into painstaking detail on exactly what had happened and what and how he believed it my car would need to be fixed, making sure that I understood everything. I mentioned that I would need my car early the following week, and despite having a full schedule on their books, they were able to replace my radiator and have my car ready to go by the very next business day. The price I paid for parts, labor, and the fee for having my car towed was lower than any estimate I could find online, and my car currently runs better than it has in years. Strande's demonstrated the absolute best customer service that I think I have ever received from a mechanic, they went miles above and beyond what I ever would have imagined possible to accommodate me, they did spectacular work, and they did it for a fantastically reasonable price. They earned every bit of the five stars I rated them.. After this experience, I can honestly say that I will NEVER go anywhere else again. read more
