0 Stars! Before you go here to get anything repaired on your vehicle, you should consider updating your life insurance policy and living will and testament. Why? They just couldn't get the right part, or make repairs appropriately, or didn't have the right equipment, or had broken equipment and had to order new equipment, or they recently fired employees that were the problem. It seems like there is always an excuse or someone to blame, when the problem is clearly still employed there. How TF do you send a vehicle out on the road TWICE with FAULTY & UNSAFE BRAKES when you have "Brakes" in your company name? Ironic. So if you have a death wish and know it is your time to leave this world, or if you have someone in your life that you despise, have the brakes "repaired" here! Supporting Facts: We originally brought in a truck for brakes, they diagnosed needing a master cylinder. After replacing the master cylinder it all the sudden needs a new brake booster. They resurfaced rotors and changed brake pads. Our vehicle took longer than expected because they ordered the wrong brake booster and had to order another. They said our vehicle was repaired to safe operating standards so we paid over $1600 and picked it up. Driving home the brakes did not feel safe and had a burning smell. Upon getting it home, we called them immediately and told them there was something wrong. They told us to bring it back as soon as it was convenient. We parked it for a day and brought it back that Friday. When driving it back to them, the vehicle made it 2 miles before starting to smoke from all 4 tires, lose power, and then several lights came on including check engine, VSA, and ABS. We were traveling on HWY 380 that has a speed limit of 70 MPH, when the truck suddenly locked up in the middle of the highway! FORTUNATELY it was pulled over safely. At that time I communicated my concerns to the store manager, who always acts as if everything is not a big deal. They agreed to tow the truck in at that point. During this time it was communicated to us that they had an issue with their machine and admitted to not being able to bleed the brakes properly. This can very well cause the ABS module failure which was clearly their fault! They said it just went out on its own- NOT TRUE! They completed repairs again and when we picked up the brakes were still soft and still a safety concern. TIM told us, "That's as good as the brakes will get on a 2008." Since this is a 3rd vehicle we bought for my son to learn to drive on, it was parked while he was out of state for a couple months. We decided to have an actual mechanic look at it before he returned and started driving lessons again. Sure enough, the mechanic said that Brakes Plus installed the wrong brake booster. This means they sent us out for the 2nd time with an unsafe and faulty brake system. We informed Brakes Plus that we have lost faith in their ability to get the correct part or make appropriate and safe repairs on a vehicle and it is our right as consumers to find a competent mechanic to ensure our vehicle is safe. Brakes Plus declines our right and says they will not refund any amount paid or do anything to help us towards safe repairs. The only option they provided was to return to them for repairs! We obviously will never take another vehicle there. Ever. TIM also denied saying that he didn't tell us that is as good as a 2008 brakes will get. I hope that you make a wise choice to go elsewhere for your vehicle repairs. I hope I can help save one person from making this mistake and possibly even saving a life in the process! *At this time we are having our truck repaired by a competent mechanic that will prove Brakes Plus to be negligible. We are in a credit card dispute, and I am contacting their corporate headquarters and Texas state agencies regarding consumer protection from mechanical negligence since their regional manager is also very ignorant and failed to resolve this.

They have a very user friendly website that makes it super simple to set up an appointment. Their staff is also very kind and helpful on the phone. So I was here at 8am on Saturday, prepared to drop off my vehicle for approximately 2 1/2 hours. They opened in March, but their grand opening was this month. Because they share the parking lot with Autozone and Starbucks, I find the parking lot a bit too crowded for my taste. It's basically park anywhere you can and turn your keys in at their office, they aren't picky with where your vehicle is. I even saw an after-hours key box. They do a lot more than brakes- inspections, batteries, alignments, filters, oil change- basically everything except tires. I didn't know they offered so much! They have great hours too, 8am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays. It's also pretty smart that they are next to AutoZone, this could allow you to save on a larger repair by providing parts and paying for labor. Their waiting room was very small as their 8 bays get all their square footage, but it was welcoming. They had a table with snack and giveaways. Their waiting room probably sat 8 to 10. In the back by the restrooms, they had coffee and water. However, it was their customer service that was the most welcoming part of this experience, and it was on point! Tim, the general manager, and Aaron were both great with each of their customers, both at drop off and pick up. They did a great job listening, consulting and letting people know how extensive their offerings were. I noticed several people who needed extra attention and hand holding, and they handled this beautifully. They weren't just telling you what you wanted to hear or using fear tactics, but being honest about the work needed and helping to find solutions, even if it wasn't there. This is what impressed me the most, so many people confuse good customer service with backing down from policy and agreeing with the customer, when it has a lot more to do with providing people with their needs, not just what they ask for. Especially important when safety is involved. They have a Lyft business account so you don't have to wait on your vehicle to be serviced, you can get dropped off at home or picked up to come get your vehicle. Aaron even told me that if a repair deems it necessary, they can arrange for you to get to and from work. That's amazing! It also more than makes up for the crowded parking lot and small waiting area. They called me way ahead of schedule to come pick up my vehicle and despite only being able to help 2 people at a time with the available registers/counters, kept the line moving. Despite this, I didn't feel rushed or like I wasn't getting enough information and appreciated the way I was treated. I've been looking for a new mechanic that can handle more on the weekends, around my schedule, and this is definitely the location I plan to use next. Great experience, definitely recommend!

This is the write up from Brakes Plus on my invoice.

He takes the time to properly troubleshoot and find the root cause of the problem. I took my 01 F250 to him with major transmission problems, and an intermittent electrical issue. He rebuilt the transmission within a few days, and we put heavy duty parts such as a torque converter and shift kit so it would be more equipped to pulling oversized loads. He also replaced the radiator which was full of metal shavings from the bad transmission Other shops told me my transmission was just fine, and it just needed an aftermarket cooler, which is why it was overheating. Also, I took it to 3 different shops who couldn't find the source of my intermittent electrical issues. Once the transmission was rebuilt, upon programming, he found the source of the breakdown, which was a faulty ECM which caused it not to shift properly and drastically overheat. We sent the ECM to a place to get repaired and he installed and programmed my truck to get it back on the road. Jose communicated the whole process, and did high quality work. He is the only mechanic that I have found to trust, and I wish there were more like him.

Oh man, especially Jose, the owner. Amazingly great and understanding guy! And he knows his stuff without a second thought. I came to Texas from Louisiana on an evacuation order due to Hurricane Ida. It's 100 degrees outside and my a/c goes KAPUT! An entire 8 hour drive in this sweltering heat with no a/c. When I made it to Texas I decided to take my vehicle to a neighborhood Christian Brothers. They were nice people but their prices were just too high for what I could afford at such last minute notice. They ran diagnostics and told me that my HVAC blower motor needed replacement as well as the motor resistor. They quoted me almost $700 for the job and I just couldn't afford it. I called around and was guided to Jose at AutoPro. I told him my situation and immediately he swept into gear making me feel really confident about everything he was saying. The knowledge and kindness would've been enough but on top of it all he offered to do it for a MUCH LOWER labor cost!!! I was floored and immediately drove my vehicle to the shop. It didn't take but maybe 10 minutes tops for him to advise me that the estimate given by Christian Brothers wasn't necessary and that the only issue was my blower motor. That alone saved me and additional $200 off of the estimate. In no time he had me on the road in freezing cold air. I'm thinking about moving to Denton just to know I have him around if ever there is an issue. Really great, confident, laid back guy. It is IMPERATIVE that you do not hesitate to patronize AutoPro if you wish to be treated super humanely and with a great deal of compassion and honesty. They have my greatest gratitude for this. Thanks Jose and the guys at AutoPro!
