We accumulated credit card debt, financed a vehicle, and purchased a photo booth that he planned to use to start a business. During the early stages of Covid, my husband got very sick, which left him unable to perform his previous work duties and caused him to lose the high income he had before Covid. He was able to get a job that paid a little more than half of what he had been making before Covid. He tried to find a job for almost 6 years that could replace the income he used to have in order to pay back our debt. We reached out to Tina at Borcia Adams Law LLC when it appeared that my husband's employer's Payroll was taking more money out in garnishment than permitted. When my husband inquired about the discrepancy to the HR department at his work, HR replied with a screenshot that appeared to be a Chat Gpt's/AI response stating it was the correct amount. When my husband pointed out that the garnishment order itself stated the correct amount (which was less), the HR department stated that the attorney who was garnishing said the amount they were taking was the correct amount, even though it was legally above what was allowed according to the garnishment document(s) my husband received. After we consulted Tina, we filed to have our debt discharged. After filing, my husband's payroll department still sought to deduct the garnishment until my husband contacted HR and said, 'My attorney said the garnishment deduction should be stopped.' HR responded within 30 minutes and told my husband the garnishment deduction was removed. After our debt was discharged, my husband's payroll entered a new (different) garnishment into the system from a debtor that sought payment for a debt that was approximately 10 years old prior to filing in which we did not receive any notice that the debt was owed. Tina was very quick and helpful in getting the payroll department to stop the garnishment immediately. I would say having an attorney is very helpful in our experience because when we didn't have an attorney, the HR department at my husband's job behaved as if his words didn't matter concerning the payroll deductions that seemed incorrect, but once my husband told the HR department "my attorney said" he would usually see a response from HR within 30 minutes stating the garnishment was removed from the payroll deduction.

My hopes were to find an Attorney that could reasonably and optimally navigate me through the anticipated trials and tribulations of both the expected and unexpected rough waters ahead through my Dissolution of Marriage. Denis was both professional, and personable when I first consulted with him about the nuances of my particular situation. He was extremely attentive to detail, and answered all of my questions confidently. I did not retain a lawyer immediately, until it became necessary, and at that time I reached back out to Denis. I was very impressed with his recount of all the particulars surrounding my case per my original consultation - meaning, I did not have to go over everything with him all over again. From this time forward, Denis dealt with and kept me aptly informed of all logistics concerning communications with the opposing Council, and required Court documents and dates. Denis is a straight to the point, matter of fact Attorney that does not waste time or linger on issues. Unfortunately, life is what it is, and I found myself in a dangerous situation with a neighbor whom I had to obtain an emergency order of protection against. I met with attorney after attorney to discuss my case and all but one seemed more focused on telling me/bragging how great they were, who they knew, and how my case was so simple and would be settled quickly. Thankfully, I knew better than to believe any of what I was being told and more importantly, discovered Michael Strauss. While he too believed my case was not exactly complicated, he recognized that the situation could change in a heartbeat and instead of making me promises he would never be able to keep just to sign me on as a client, he discussed best and worst case scenarios from the start so I could adjust my expectations. And as he predicted, my case grew more complicated and eventually put my own personal safety in jeopardy. Instead of focusing on billing me for every minute that he was working my case, he paused all of this to ensure I was safe. He took on aspects that an attorney would normally not and if they did, they would charge substantially more. Not only did Mr. Strauss not charge me anything extra, when there was a time that I had nothing left in me physically, mentally, and emotionally and decided to not pursue the legal matter any further, Mr. Strauss indicated that while that was my decision, he would not stop fighting on my behalf! What attorney continues to work a case even if the client has nothing left in them to fight???? When I could not fight anymore, Mr. Strauss stepped in and fought for me. I have never met an attorney or know of one that was so passionate about their clients and really made them the priority not the retainer or additional potential billing. He was a Godsend. He is the very type of attorney I believe the job was initially created for - someone who gets into law not for the fame nor money but to actually help those who have nowhere else to turn. I cannot recommend Michael Strauss enough. He was not only my attorney, but he also in a truly unforeseen way became my guardian angel. Because of him, his dedication, and ethics, I am now safe, and it did not financially drain me. While this world does not need more attorneys, they need attorneys like Michael Strauss.
