My child attended summer camp at Stratford School's Milpitas Great Mall campus, and we had a wonderful experience. The school offered a great selection of classes, which made it easy to choose a variety of programs based on my child's interests and learning needs. One of the highlights was the Academic Bridge Camp taught by Ms. Mandal. It was a fantastic class that helped the children review and prepare for first grade in a fun and engaging way. The lessons allowed them to continue learning during the summer without feeling overwhelmed. Ms. Mandal is very organized and methodical. She sent a weekly newsletter explaining what would be covered and also provided daily email updates about the academic activities completed in class. This made it very easy for us to stay informed about what was happening in the classroom. She is kind, encouraging, and appreciative of the children while also maintaining good structure in the classroom. My child says she is "only a little strict" and likes her very much! We are new to Stratford this school year (transitioned from another competitive private school) and are extremely satisfied with the overall curriculum, staff, leadership team, and teachers. This review is for the summer camp, not the school. My daughter attended the first grade academic bridge camp for 4 weeks in July. She's very hard to please. She either hates where she goes, or tolerates it. It's very rare she really likes the camp / school / daycare she's attending. After just a few days, she started resisting going to camp. After a talk with the teacher and director, they said they'd work to make her feel more comfortable and have more fun at the school. Tomorrow is the last day and now she talks about how she'll miss the teacher Mrs. Mandal. She now talks about wanting to switch from her current elementary school to here. I'm really happy the staff was willing to work with me and my concerns to make things better. Pros: For drop off and pick up for certain times you don't even need to get out of the car. They have lunch and snacks you can order daily- no need to pack. Caring staff. Stratford is able to make learning fun. They also teach life skills - just today my daughter was saying how we learn from our mistakes. 4 week summer camp, so you don't have to worry about finding a different camp every week.
