The shop features farm grown, locally grown and just enough fresh and packaged additions to cover your weekly supplies. Apples and peaches are the volume crops but there are also seasonal harvests of pears, blackberries, corn, tomatoes and a variety of vegetables. In winter, there are carefully selected choices of various citrus options mostly from Florida. The Barnards have played a prominent role in multi century Quaker history and with this very special farm continue to do so. Among the particular treats are a variety of cut flowers, including a nice long season of snapdragons grown in the beautifully maintained turn of the twentieth century greenhouses. Everything about Barnard's is authentic and pleasing, including farmer Lewis Barnard. Go. It won't be your last time. It's cash preferred (fees for credit card); there is plenty of parking.

The car show gets a few hundred cars. If you want to enter your car it's $20 cash at the gate. They give you a small tin plaque and a registration card for your window. Since my car isn't winning any awards I don't stay till 3 pm to await the judges choices. My car is nice, but not prize winning nice but that's ok. It's a fun few hours. It got too hot by noon to stay longer. Weather in early May is tricky. Highly recommend checking out the car show. The general store on the grounds is huge. Bought lots of stuff to take home.

You had to buy it in a glass mug, and though it was decent, it wast worth 19 dollars. I saw a mom and son ahead of me who came with friends. The friends ordered something small. The mom with the boy said no, were not getting anything. The look on the little boys face was so sad. When its all about making profit and not about the families who come out, you have to really examine where to spend your money.

The Festival runs on Feb. 26-28 & March 5-7 between 9am - 4pm. Essentially, you can create Your Own Whoopie Pie for $4 each, 4 or more at $3.50 each, and 12 or more $3 each. Here's how it works - make your customized selections of one of 12 cookies, one of 11 frostings, and one of 7 toppings, and Brecknock will build your pie. I went full Elvis mode and selected banana cookies, peanut butter frosting, and chocolate chip toppings around the circumference. We had a great time at Brecknock -making our Whoopie pies, playing a whoopie pie trivia game, and picking up a few odds and ends for us and friends. PRO TIP Hats off to Brecknock for their generosity and hospitality. They had free samples everywhere- whoopie pie wedges, pretzels, popcorn, and all sorts of goodies. Some things were outside, other things inside, w/ a line of people waiting to pay starting at the tented outside register area, backed up, weaving all the way thru the market isles to the front door. You had to squeeze between the line of people waiting to pay & the shelves of food to shop, making it hard to look at anything, much less grab anything. I know this sounds like a good problem to have, but not when chaos is driving the experience more than demand. Exhausted from wondering the outside trying to figure out what all there was to do & where to go, then braving the market, I decided to skip apple picking which was the main reason I was there! That process appeared even less clear, so no regrets. Today I was there for "farm day " which was a chance to view the animals on a beautiful fall day and shop at vendors lined up along the path. These vendors seemed to be picked for their close to nature wares which included natural soap and scrubs, the lady Who Made cork handbags, A man and woman who made beer bottle openers out of half horseshoes, and the lady who made homemade dog treats. I was thrilled to purchase 2 handmade items from Annabelle's Wish stand. Annabelle's Wish helps children and family struggling with rare neurological disorders.
