If it was possible to give 0 stars for this vet, we would. He treated our foster dog like he was a nothing. Our foster had been experiencing discomfort in both ears. When the vet went to examine the dog's ears with a q-tip, the dog backed away and was reasonably a little hesitant/reactive. The vet then said "ok we're done here" and ended the entire exam. He basically told the potential foster adopter that it's not worth it to adopt this dog. Meanwhile, aside from the hesitation while having his ears examined (clearly with an ear infection too), the foster dog is the most lovable and cuddly dog ever. He deserves the best home and this vet decided in 2 seconds that he's not worth his time. CRUEL. He's pompous and clearly does not work with many rescue dogs! Awful experience. read more

Avoid this guy! We brought our 11 yr old Dixie here following very strange behavior, which seemed of a neurological nature. Perhaps a reaction to something, seizures, who knows. The vet dismissed the symptoms and sent us off without any treatment or course of action to diagnose the concerning symptoms. He charged us. That he did. So now we are off for a second opinion, following what felt a stick up. Avoid this quack. read more

I Feel it's my job to make everyone aware of how GREEDY and unprofessional this place is. I brought my 2 yr old GSD here after I noticed him continuously barking at the ceiling at night time. The vet Mr. Strazza inspected him asked me about the symptoms and prescribed phenobarbital. He added that this medication would have to be administered for life. $215 later I was very uneasy about how quickly he did his "diagnosis" so I checked online and learned that epilepsy is diagnosed through Lab work. The vet never did any lab work for my dog & He had no problem prescribing a drug for him that is SCARY! 2 days later I discovered my dog was barking at the reflection of my iPad screen on the ceiling. So i realized my dog is not epileptic! I am horrified that a veterinarian would skip a necessary procedure and easily put an animal on a drug for life? What negligence and lack of ethics. Dr. Strazza has been taking care of our pets for many years. We have always found him to be caring, knowledgeable, and kind. Over the years I've personally brought him many animals that were in peril: a stray dog that was hit by a car in front of my house, which he saved and held until we could find the owner; duck that was mauled by a dog; stray kittens with no mother; birds, etc. In every case he did whatever he could to heal them with kindness and care, more concerned with helping the animals than with payment. Dr Strazza is a very caring, honest and an exceptional Veterinarian. What make him so good is his approach of doing what's best for your pet in the long run. He does not over medicate or try to sell extra services as his education was paid off 20 years ago. He is extremely honest and does his very best. The office staff is kind and helpful. I have sent many friends there and everyone agrees that he is a terrific Vet. The office is not fancy as he is cost conscious and doesn't have a mega office with high overhead. My old vet had a very fancy office and charged a fortune. We have used him now for over 25 years and are completely satisfied with his integrity. read more

I had a very positive experience yesterday with dr. Strazza and his practice and wanted to share. My mini yorkie needed 10 teeth pulled and a detailed cleaning. At 5 years old , this was his first. Dr strazzas office in pearl river is old school. No wait , no fuss. I dropped luke off in the morning. Picked him up in the afternoon. He was happy, in no pain at all. No more bad breath and now he has white teeth. dr strazza gave me an antibiotic and explained how to administer it. Didn't rush me when I had questions. And his prices were very reasonable. Less then others in the area. This was the first time bringing a pet to this office but from now on , he will be our family's Vetrinarian. read more

Please stay away from this vet!!!! We brought a little shih tzu to him that we had just adopted. The dog was clearly old and we informed the receptionist immediately that before anything was done the vet was to get our permission along with the cost. He took the dog and took xrays without our knowledge or consent. He was unsure of the dogs age....how long has he been a vet? He gave her an injection for pneumonia along with 30 days of pills. Long story short the dog was dead the next morning. We think he traumatized the dog and she was too week for whatever he did. Do not go to this man if you value your pet. read more

I took my cat "Lillie" to see Dr. Strazza for the first today. He is a great guy! Office is easy to get to and no waiting. Prices are very reasonable and staff are also great. I was treated with respect and although Lillie was a little difficult she was treated like she had always been his patient. I highly recommend Dr. Strazza. read more

Went to this vet with my working canine partner for evaluation. Dr. Straza wanted to do xrays on my dog, gave him a sedative. Took some shots, or at least I thought, when he told me that the xray machine wasn't working. As we were discussing this, my canine partner then had a seizure right in front of me on the xray table- tongue hanging out, shaking uncontrollably. I yelled for the Doctor to come over and see my dog. The doctor put his hands on the dog for about 10 seconds and then said to me, "this is a normal reaction, it happens- you work with dogs and don't know this?". When the dog stopped seizing, he left the room without saying anything, came back 10 minutes later, picked up the dog and said, "time to go, I'll bring him to your truck" and he walked up the stairs. I grabbed my coat and purse, ran outside, he was about to close the door but my dogs legs were hanging out, I grabbed the door, fixed his legs (he was not able to move- too sedated), and when I turned around, the doctor had already gone back inside. He left a woman that was 7 months pregnant with a heavily sedated canie partner that just had a seizure, with no explanation or after care instructions, nothing, standing in the parking lot. What kind of terrible vet does that?! DO NOT TRUST THIS HORRIBLE PERSON WITH YOUR PETS! read more

Dr Strazza has been my vet for 25 plus years. I drive 28 miles to take my pets to him. I wouldn't trust anybody else with my pets. Ive taken bunnies, chinchilla, cats and my dogs to him. His rates are reasonable and staff is great. read more
