Dr. McCaffrey was referred to us and she immediately came to assess the situation. She ran some tests and advised us how to properly care for our cat until the results came back. She did not rush through and was gentle with our cat and with us. Paws at Peace offers some extras (a paw print and a bit of fur in a little jar) in addition to cremation options. I initially thought these things were silly but I am glad we got them. It was easy to make the arrangements. We called at 8 AM and got a same day appointment. We got a text of the expected time and an update when there was a very slight delay. We got a follow up text the next day, with an offer for grief support. This is a well run organization. They know what they are doing. Best of all, they did not cause any additional grief to what was already a very sad day.

Dr. Fragola so thoroughly and empathetically captured the roller coaster I had been on for the past five weeks, and I finally felt certain that it was the right time to end my cat Claudette's suffering. After submitting an online inquiry at night, I received a phone call less than twenty minutes later. From that first conversation through the thoughtful "how are you doing" follow-ups, Paws at Peace's compassion, understanding, and professionalism were authentic and unmistakable. Dr. Jennifer Lander came to our home the next day and could not have been kinder. She was patient, gentle, and genuinely interested in learning about Claudette and her life with us--later reflecting those details in a heartfelt sympathy card. The process was unrushed and deeply respectful. I will always remember the salmon paste she brought as a final treat; Claudette went crazy for it, and it's a fond last memory with our precious girl. This was the hardest moment my husband and I have faced together so far, but Paws at Peace made an unfathomable experience as peaceful as it could possibly be. I am deeply thankful for their care and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Our regular vet treated her for "colitis" but admitted that she did not know what else to do and referred us to a 24h clinic for further diagnosis and IV treatment Pearl was discharged from the clinic the next day with prescriptions for six different drugs, while her symptoms kept worsening. After one week of force-food and medications down her throat we decided to put her to sleep in the comfort of our home, which Dr.Krier offered to do. However, before proceeding with the euthanasia, Dr. Krier asked us the permission to examine the dog and to review her medical record. She took it upon herself to talk to the Emergency clinic doctor and discovered that although the clinic tested Pearl negative for Lyme disease, they had not tested her for Anaplasmosis, which is another, very similar, tick borne decease that affects older dogs. Dr Keil took another blood sample and called us the next day that her hunch was correct and the test was positive. Dr. Krier immediately gave Pearl a prescription for antibiotics and immediately showed a good response to the medication. Two weeks later our dog is eating , barking, licking our face and acting normal and out son has renamed Dr, Krier as "Dr. Miracle". She not only quickly and correctly diagnosed the dog 's symptoms, when other vets did not, but also treated us with compassion and provided incredible service. I never met such a caring , knowledgeable vet and I am so thankful that she gave our dog another breath of life ! Sadly, the same week that she saved our dog, she had to put her own to sleep but never let her sadness impact caring for other patients. I would recommend Dr. Krier to anybody looking for a compassionate, incredibly perceptive and experienced veterinarian who intuitively understands both animals and owners and can ressurect a dog on his death bed !

Last week in what appeared to be overnight she slowly stopped eating but only drank. That was a red flag. Took her to an emergency facility which was a nightmare. Hamish is our beloved almost 16 year old dog who had been increasingly in pain and panting, showing signs of dementia, and losing the ability to get up off the floor without assistance. Making the decision to put him to sleep was so very difficult. We were so relieved to find a vet who could provide a relaxing outdoor setting without the stress of a traditional veterinary hospital. Tender Comforts In home Pet Euthanasia is set on a farm in the country, so, on a plush blanket laid on grass and clover, underneath an oak tree, with a picnic table and benches available, beloved Hamish was able to gently leave behind his pain and anxiety with the help of Dr. Craig Little and Nurse Cindy. They explained everything that was going to take place and chatted with us which helped us relax. And of course they handled Hamish gently and compassionately. I was able to sit on the grass right next to Hamish and pet him constantly throughout the procedure. They explained some things along the way which was helpful. I remember Dr. Little reaching across Hamish with his stethscope to listen to his heartbeat, and gently indicating to me that he was gone. We were not rushed away; I was able to continue petting and talking to Hamish as long as I wanted to. My husband and I, as well as Hamish, were treated with great respect. Before we left, there were hugs all around. I noticed that when we left, Cindy got on the ground with Hamish and continued to pet and care for him. So for Hamish, it was a day that began with a breakfast of brownies, ham and cereal, which was followed by a nice ride in the car to Readington, where he got out onto a grassy field with a cozy blanket waiting for him to rest upon, and friendly people waiting to help him. Yes we are sad, and yes, we miss him, but the quality of care we received from Tender Comforts In home Pet Euthanasia definitely has helped us get through it. I should also mention that Dr. Little's wife Susie was our first contact with Tender Comforts In home Pet Euthanasia. She set up our appointment, and facilitated changing the times when we requested it. She was very compassionate! I also need to mention that we were given a sympathy card with wild flower seeds and a pamphlet on coping on the loss of a companion animal. I would not hesitate to use this service again, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs it for their pet. This is a tremendous resource!
