My dog Ginger just spent the day with Dr Herzog and Nicole and couldn't be happier. They treated my puppy with great care and attention to detail. She's a rescue and wasn't a fan of the vet from past experiences. She did great with a more personal private setting. My girl had her spay and there was no rushing her out, just the opposite. Dr Herzog & Nicole are a great team. They were both so warm, open & patient with my dog, Butters and I. Dr Herzog did a challenging procedure on Butters. She was thorough and gentle. I appreciate that she explained everything to me & gave me information that helped me understand my dog's diabetes better for the future. I have three cats, and trying to get them into crates,And into the car, and listening to them wail all the way to the vet was a nightmare. When Dr. Herzog left her previous practice, I had to chase her down because I could not see us finding a better vet. From the first time Abby (my 80lb shepherd/husky) and I came into to see Dr. Herzog, we adored her. While Abby is still very much afraid of the vet, Nicole is so sweet to her and goes out of her way to make her as comfortable and calm as she can be. Dr Herzog AKA The Venturing Vet is literally the best !! Her care is very personal, very professional and our precious little long-haired persian, Pepé, adores her! Since discovering this service, i cannot imagine taking any of our cats to a vet where they have to stress out. The home visit alternative is sooo much better. Her van/RV/truck concept is very clean and organized, and fully equipped for personalized visits - all i do is bring my cat in a carrier to the vehicle parked outside my house, and Dr. Herzog and her wonderful assistant, take over. We discuss all assessments and options, and treatments in the vehicle together with my cat, just as you would do in a private room at a vet's office. Then i leave while they examine, test and treat. The doctor updates me via text on status etc, and will even ask questions before proceeding with any developments during the appointment, all of this while i'm in the house only a few feet away. It's genius! Pricing is comparable to actual vet visits, but really, can you put a price on this type of care?? I would give 10 stars if i could!! read more

First of all I would not say mobile vet is a luxury. I had my dogs (my companion, my support, my healing souls) and of course my pets and part of the deal for giving you so much, when they need care I really try to do my best but not beyond my means. The fact is for them going to a place that smells, sounds and looks full of fearfulness obviously will affect them, including increasing their body temperature, so if they are ill nothing worst than that place. They will kiss you, asking you to leave. The experience with The Venturing Vet is not only one that makes more sense but, the caring, dedication and knowledge have even given a few more months to my girl in who was very ill and at least for me the honoraries are extremely reasonable compared to Animal General in Edgewater that I took all my babies for 12 years same Vet and begged to please let me know if she ever left the place, but when my baby got cancer and the oncologist sent information to work with her nobody even care to tell me their Vet for 20 years left. Dr Herzog and Nicole were angels supporting and helped me immensely, and continue doing so with my boy. I only shared to show that it's important not only environment but they are THE BEST. This concept should continue as vet places are usually environments for humans not thinking about the animal's different skills that makes the suffer even more in such environments. Unfortunately our experience wasn't the best. We live at the Estuary. Before our dog passed away, we had Maritsa come here to see what could be done. I don't know who is writing those reviews but I'm getting to the point as we have had the best vets for our dog. My dog is on the floor, could not move anymore and the nurse is making jokes and laughing, while my wife is crying in the office, to be nice I was talking but found out completely out of ethics and disrespectful. The woman's underwear thong is coming out of her pants while lookin at my dog, we were disturbed what is wrong with this woman. She is very young so that explains why she couldn't explain our dogs possible issues in a few words as our vet with 30 years of experience explains it briefly and with COMPASSION. She wrote an email not acknowledging my wife's name but "hi". After 15 years with an office-based vet whom I had grown disillusioned with, I saw the Venturing Vet van driving down the highway one day, and decided it was worth a try for my ancient cat. Now I'll never go back! It's not just the convenience of having Dr. Herzog come to my house instead of traumatizing my frail little old lady to take her to an office, although that is wonderful. i have a 9 year old German Shepherd who needed to go to the vet for months but the whole car ride and adventure was more harm than good. He suffers from issues with his back legs and lately it has been worse. I reached out and these 2 lovely ladies answered the call. They showed up and i was asked to either bring him in the van or they can come in the house. Knowing how my dog is, i asked them to come in which made it a lot easier as it was his turf. They were soooooo kind, caring and loving. He gets very nervous right away and they noticed it and helped to calm him. I cannot say enough about how patient they were even when he was not cooperating! There was no rush or making him uncomfortable. I have never experienced this with a vet and probably the biggest reason for not going to a vet sooner. Most vets want to do a bunch of unnecessary things to raise the bill. Love these ladies!! I have two pups, a 50lb mush and an 18lb "walking vet bill" (she is blind, has teeth problems, arthritis and a history of slipped disks). They took such good care of both of my dogs, explained every procedure and cost, and made sure I was 100% comfortable with everything they did...but more importantly made sure my dogs were as comfortable and happy as possible through regular exams and dental procedures. And I have to gush, my 18lb pup is now livelier and more active than she's been in years after revising arthritis meds and completing dental work! I would recommend them to anyone.
