I have been going to Allendale Veterinary Hospital since Dr. Gabriel Stein moved from another…read moreanimal hospital to this one. I must say, when he was at his other location it was more convenient for us as it was closer to our house and I was skeptical on getting familiar with new faces since we were such long standing patients at the other facility. But I must say it was a great change! First off, the building is in good shape, the entire hospital is always clean, and the staff is super nice, accommodating, and friendly whenever you come in. Michaella, and Jackie are definitely names to remember as they are awesome people! Michaella always knows how to give you a good laugh and is extremely helpful in every situation. Truthfully, all the girls that work here are great and a special shout out to one of the techs, Brianna she was SO helpful through my awful experience with fleas!!! She is so educated and always knows what she is talking about - super smart! Parking is eh...not the best but you can't get everything right? Dr. Stein is the best vet around and I can assure you there is nobody better. The truth of the matter is people want doctors that actually give a crap about our dogs and form bonds with them to show us just how much they really care! Dr. Stein has cared for my Mother's dogs as well over the many years of knowing him. He has spayed/neutered our dogs, performed many surgeries on our dogs, and dealt with the craziness for a long time now! My pumpkins love Dr. Stein and I know this as evidenced by the last time Dr. Stein was on vacation, I had no choice but to bring them to another doctor in the hospital. Now, I am not saying this doctor wasn't a good doctor because he totally was (forgive me I forget his name). But my Bruce was visibly nervous by shaking and trying to hide near me. He has NEVER done that with Stein and if he did that would mean something is seriously wrong. I can't stress it to people enough that Dr. Stein is the GO TO doctor if you want answers, compassion, trust, and excellent care. He is definitely a jokester (maybe not at first) but he will show you that side in time! Be aware, if you want to make an appointment with Dr. Stein you best do it in advance because he is like a show....always booked out! Overall, I couldn't have found a better place to bring my babies to. Everyone gives them the attention they look for and the care I expect them to receive. If you know me, you know I am crazy about my fur babies! I swear when I call the hospital, the girls are probably like "Oh god, what does she want now?" Haha! This place could be my second home that is how much we come here! I would never bring my money else where except here and if you need an animal hospital this is the one to go!

My fur baby, Zuri, has been seeing Dr. May for a little over a year and half now. I'm thoroughly…read morepleased with her elite care of my baby. Little history: Zuri is an IMHA (Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia ) survivor/rockstar warrior. She started seeing Dr. May approx. 3 weeks after a week long stay at the hospital, where she had 6 blood transfusions. The hospital did a phenomenal job, but when Zuri was released, her red blood cells count was still gravely low. Her case was very aggressive. Zuri was on a few medications to help her, but I knew that Zuri would need someone highly skilled. So, I did some research about internal medicine vets in NJ and found Dr May. Best decision ever! Dr. May meticulously monitored Zuri's health over several long months, always answering/addressing my many questions/ concerns, finally weaning Zuri off of her IMHA meds entirely. By the time, Zuri was off of her meds with great values, I was ready to cease the monthly visits because Zuri was doing great, and I was 100pct comfortable with Dr. May's plan. She got Zuri that far! It was a beyond scary time for me, and Zuri had been through a lot. But, Dr. May and everyone from the assistants to the front desk at Animal Care of Oradell made the overwhelming experience better. Everyone always answered my MANY questions!! It's even the little things like being engaged by Sherry at the front desk, who is always very friendly, helpful, and responsive. It doesn't escape me that she would engage me to maybe make me smile or laugh...to just relax a bit, especially earlier on when I was a nervous wreck. Fast forward to this year, Zuri was doing so well that she really just needed to get an annual done. And, it was during this visit, Dr. May noticed that Zuri's kidney function was off. She had Zuri undergo a few studies, and it was determined that Zuri has kidney filtration (protein losing nephropathy) as well as high blood pressure issues, but it was caught very early. And, since being put on a couple medications, Zuri's levels are looking really good. Btw, during this time, Zuri never displayed any signs that she was ill. Again, this is a testament to Dr. May's diligence and care. I've written enough, but since I never got around to writing one last year, I figured a lengthy review is appropriate. :-) I wholeheartedly recommended Animal Care of Oradell.

He always tells you the truth whether you're willing to accept it or not. He doesn't sugarcoat anything and that's what you want to hear as a customer. He is extremely knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything to you regarding your pet. His staff are always helpful and make the experience more friendly than other vets do. It's very clean as well. As long as he operates, we will continue to bring our animals to him whenever the need arises. Thank you always for your bedside manner and professionalism!

I was relocating to LA and at the last minute, I had no one to watch my dog back on the East Coast. So I put my little pup into this kennel. As I was having problems with the person who was shuttling my dog to LA, she had to stay longer than I expected. During this time they were patient and understanding. And when my dog ran out of food, they actually prepared her a home-cooked meal. Who does that? Wow. If you find yourself in Bergen County, and you need a place to board your dog, this should be your first choice.

I appreciated Carmen and Dr Rivero taking such good care of Odin. I felt very anxious leaving him for such a long time, as a frat time too, but... I was able to receive photos of Odin and was able to keep in communication over WhatsApp on how he was doing. You can tell the facility is well run and maintained and the staff really cares about the well-being of the animals. I would board him again here, though it is a bit of a far drive for me in NJ. I recommend Mahwah Veterinarian Groom & Board!
