I just started seeing Streets market popping up in different locations but not sure if they're all relatively the same. However, the one I went to had a variety of Hispanic and Asian items from produce to household items like pots and shot glasses. This location was fairly clean and the best section I think was the meats section. They offered a nice variety of marinaded meats although we did not buy any during this trip. The reason for my 3 star rating was for the price and quality of other items. Some of their items were very pricey. For example, a stack of corn tortillas were $10 and bags of fries were almost $7 which are double/triple the cost from places like Giant. Some of the quality of items were questionable as well. I picked up several bags of bread and cookies and majority of them had mold and the expiration dates were passed by almost 3-5 days. If you're in a pinch and need a more ethnic item, this place is not a bad place to check out but definitely check the items before you purchase anything!

This store has an interesting assortment of products including general, Hispanic and some middle eastern groceries. The hot and cold prepared foods are also pretty decent. The have a tasty curry chicken salad that is pretty unique. I have come across a few out of date products, but that is true in many places. The line can move slowly when they are crowded, but usually I can get straight out. They do have some upscale items and really do try to cater to everyone in diverse neighborhood. I love their variety of pasta sauces and fresh fruit. This is easier than going to a bigger market like Safeway and still has great selection.

The staff is always kind and hardworking, but today I want to specifically recognize an employee named Baron. I have watched Baron work over the years. He is almost always by himself, quietly focused, working hard, and never drawing attention to himself. He is the kind of employee who just gets the job done. Because of how focused he always is, I honestly expected that when I asked for help today, he might say no--and I would have completely understood. This morning around 8:00 a.m., I was shopping for white grapes for a patient I care for. She is not able to get around easily, and one of her simple joys is having white grapes when I come back from the store. There were none available on the floor, and Baron was in the middle of unloading and checking in what looked like a very large shipment--many packages, clearly a lot of work. Without hesitation, Baron said yes. He went all the way to the back, unpacked multiple boxes, and by the time I returned, he had gone through them and pulled the white grapes from the bottom of a box--specifically to make sure I could take them for her. I was incredibly grateful, but more importantly, the woman I care for was absolutely thrilled. What Baron did may seem small to some, but it meant everything to her--and it meant a lot to me to see that level of care and consideration. Safeway Charles Village is fortunate to have someone like Baron. His quiet dedication, work ethic, and kindness truly stood out today. Thank you, Baron, and thank you to the entire Safeway Charles Village team for all that you do.

I was told I can wait another 10 minutes for thighs and legs. There were only 2 people at the counter was each were serving only either hot food or the deli. I did discover they were short staffed due to a call out. Service was slow. I did appreciate the lady that waited on me by changing her gloves but they should have tongs for the chicken. I was not to thrilled with how much she scooped the macaroni and cheese, she barely filled the container. The meal was close to 10 dollars. By the time I returned to my office which is down the street and sat down to eat I found the food to be luke warm. After taking a couple of bites, the macaroni and cheese reminded me of KFC's macaroni and cheese, not my fav. The chicken was ok and the wing was on the small side. I don't think I will return here for lunch.

We were here to pick up last minute goods for a graduation party. But let's talk about the little sandwiches and rolls they made in the catering department. Those things were delicious! They put them together to perfection, they were ready on time, and they were delicious! We had steak, chicken, and tuna salad little sandwiches on croissants. I'm definitely going to order from Wegmans again, especially those items. They were perfect! But back to the store itself. They will pretty much have everything you need. They have some of my favorite items like frozen jasmine rice in individual packets. You can get them in white or brown. They're both delicious. I also love the frozen vegetables. They have the best selection of frozen vegetables. Especially frozen spinach. Most grocery stores only give you the champ. Spinach, Wegmans will give you the whole leaf frozen spinach. I love that. And their quinoa cakes are divine. They're frozen vegetables and foods. Selection is top notch!
