    expiration date removed from lid

Tampering with expiration dates is dishonest and unethical. Bought Maesri brand pad Thai sauce but didn't notice until I got home that it was tampered with. The expiration date is usually stamped on top of lid. The jar had the expiration date rubbed off and a price sticker in its place. The hard plastic wrap around the jar and lid was partially peeled off to allow this. See the photo of the tampered product vs. another sealed, stamped jar. Won't step foot in there again.

Close to home. This small but packed grocery store stocks an array of different Asian country's food items.

Count item you buy every time, because their cashier always "accidentally" put extra item which you didn't buy on you purchase

You ever wander into an international market and instantly feel like an interloper? That was my…read moreexperience today. We were looking for thai bird's eye chili's, and haven't found a local Asian grocery since they tore down Golden Bridge (I miss that store so much) to put in yet another Wawa. So we decided to venture into new territory and visit an Indian grocer. The parking lot is a Rollercoaster. A maniac must have designed and graded it. The store is tightly packed. Product, crates, and bags of rice make narrow passageways impossible for wheelchairs. We found the chilis. Thank goodness Jeremy was with me, because I never could have gotten to the shelves myself and no one seemed interested in making sure I found what I needed. I would have liked to have explored the shelves more, but I felt uncomfortable in the store and couldn't wait to leave. The guy at the register did not speak to us. Didn't tell us the total for our purchases or thank us for shopping there. There was a cart blocking the exit, from the outside, so it was more difficult than necessary to leave. Guess we'll continue our mission to find a suitable Asian grocery, because I have no intention of returning.

I love this market. I've come here for many seasonings and dried/counter food. Shopping at an…read moreinternational store can be intimidating for people who haven't shopped there before. Thankfully, I always receive amazing customer service here. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They answer all of my questions, make recommendations, and even give advice when needed. I think it's because there just aren't any competitors in central PA (closest H-Mart would be 1.5h away, ASSI plaza 1h away, etc). The produce selection looked ok - you could get things like thai chili peppers here, bokchoy, or more exotic things like lychee and jackfruit. There are a lot of aisles with dry goods like rice, noodles, sauces (they did carry jarred Maeseri thai sauces which is what I was looking for). They have a seafood section which had a strong smell and a "food court" with labeled fresh food items which was pretty barren - maybe 2 takeout things of dumplings on the shelf that didn't look particularly appetizing (visited on a Sunday around noon). Also, notably, the store is not in downtown Lancaster -- it's kind of remote from everything else. I don't think it would be worth making a special trip for.

The staff is very helpful and the seafood counter is a great place to try fresh fish. I picked up some mackerel last time I visited and the seafood clerk was able to filet it to my specifications. I also love that I can get Hotteok (Korean sweet pancake) mix here! There's such a big selection of items and I always find new ingredients here that I can create new delicious dishes with. I always look forward to my next trip!
