Speaking of the space - it is within a dynamic gym where there are athletes of all ages working out, rehabbing and socializing while good music plays. Laurel made us feel comfortable, especially our son who is quite nervous about his surgery. She made sure to focus on his physical recovery and also his mental health as he prepares for a long recovery. She gave practical recommendations based on the tests she did and had advanced knowledge of his specific needs and best practices. My son felt motivated when we left to do what he needs to do to prepare for surgery. I definitely recommend Bay Laurel's practice.

She's athletically-minded, and has a keen sense for how to motivate and educate those of us who've managed to injure ourselves - AND she's obviously adept at getting healthy people stronger too; a good reminder that good PT isn't just for the bad times. Highly recommended, especially if you're an athlete looking for someone who understands you at a fundamental level.

A few years ago, my orthopedic surgeon referred me to G.G.I.I.M., after I had a bad fall on my 2…read moreweek old surgery and my arm was under my body for a long time. I injured it and had intense pain, not from the shoulder replacement, but from the fall and time my arm in a sling was crumpled beneath me for awhile. He referred me to Golden Gate Institute of Integrative Medicine and the superb Dr. Moshe Lewis; he said I was in the best of hands with Dr. Lewis. That is an understatement. Dr. Lewis is highly educated and still learning so he can serve others. He is the best in his chosen field, deserving my highest praise and gratitude. He has an holistic approach, recommending & referring his patients to physical therapy, body work, counseling, etc. to other trained and skilled people. He is diligent and determined to help manage my pain. He's highly intelligent and educated. Dr. Lewis is capable, competent, caring, concerned and even courageous in his varied and advanced approaches to helping patients with their pain. He has conscientiously & consistently helped me. I am fortunate and grateful. Dr. Lewis travels extensively to learn and lecture. He is renowned in the world of pain management and a published author on that subject. So gifted. Dr. Lewis has the energy, eduction and encouragement to do so much for us. Jennifer Sutton, his P.A., Physician's Assistant is always available to serve. She is professional, prompt, patient, positive, prescribes medications, and perfect for her medical career and calling. I trust her and she's a good soul, who frequently treats me for my pain and discouragement. Jennifer is also trained in a trigger point procedure to help my pain. She's a bright gem. The front office staff are both friendly, knowing your name and problem. I was introduced once and am embarrassed I can't remember these super women's names--my bad. Duh! They know medical terms, jargon, issues and advanced in technology. They're long term employees & a loyal part of the winning team on Eaton Street. I look forward to seeing their smiling faces. Cassie is the receptionist and available for help by texting: 650 366-4542. She is eager to please--energetic, enterprising, educated about the office and schedules appointments. Cassie is always punctual to reply by text, polite, easily answering questions, or checking it out and getting back soon. Enduring, exquisite, enduring pain is a relentless enemy of body, soul and mind. It greets me in the morning like vulture at the end of my bed. The pain is always there and makes me disabled. I have two caregivers to dress me, shower me, make food, drive me to doctors, help me dress, do laundry... I recently found out my shoulder cannot be repaired by a second surgery. A renowned surgeon at Stanford told me I could die during anesthesia or the surgery, and said no anesthesiologist would touch me due to my severe, advanced C.O.P.D. My lungs are too damaged and I'd stop breathing. So between my lungs and arm I feel pretty scared and hopeless, until I remember I have GGIIM with Dr. Lewis at the helm; Jennifer, a captain of compassionate skills; and the friendly dedicated office and phone/text staff. Although I wouldn't recommend leaving a voice mail and hearing back soon. I have much to be grateful for these days and G.G.I. I.M., with Dr. Lewis and his merry band of his tremendous staff makes a huge difference healing me, focussing on my mind/body connection with grace and dignity, even humor. And so much more. I can't see my life without their support and compassion. If any of this "rings a bell," for you, I would text them immediately and save yourself some grief. Hats off and kudos to Dr, Lewis and his team

I was initially skeptical, especially after an underwhelming experience--only 5 out of 6 sessions--at another clinic. However, my first appointment at YiQi gave me new hope. Dr. Yen's diagnosis through pulse reading was impressively accurate. He not only addressed my main concern but also identified additional health issues I hadn't mentioned. My session concluded with targeted pressure point therapy by Dr. Wang, which brought noticeable relief. I also learned that Dr. Wang specializes in chronic disease management, including conditions like diabetes, while Dr. Yen focuses on complex and hard-to-treat illnesses. While I know one session won't completely resolve my shoulder and arm condition, including pain, weakness, LRM, etc., it has already helped alleviate my symptoms. I'm optimistic and looking forward to my upcoming treatments.

My family met Dr. Yen during a very difficult time. It was Dr. Vi that recommended me to Dr. Yen…read more My father suffered an ischemic stroke at age 88 affecting the right middle cerebral artery. In the hospital we were gently told he might never walk again and his left side would likely remain paralyzed. After discharge, I brought him to several acupuncturists hoping to support his recovery. The experiences were brief and formulaic -- until we met Dr. Yen. What stood out immediately was that he didn't rush. He spent time carefully feeling my dad's pulse, asked detailed questions about sensation and pain, and adjusted treatment based on how my dad responded week to week. It felt individualized rather than procedural. For over a year my dad has continued treatment consistently. Today, he is walking with a cane, going out to restaurants with friends and family, and recently celebrated his 90th birthday with us. We know recovery after stroke varies widely and we also appreciate the role of his medical team and rehabilitation -- but Dr. Yen has been an important part of his progress and quality of life. Because of this experience, I've referred friends to him -- including people who felt stuck after not getting clear answers elsewhere. More than once I've been told I undersell how helpful his care has been. The office is very peaceful. Dr. Wang, Dr. Vi and Dr. Yen are the most compassionate acupuncturists. They really care about people's underlying issues. We're grateful to have found this practice.
