Zach and Tiger Med Therapy have done wonders for me. Due to boxing and bad sitting posture from years behind a desk, my lower back pain caused me to have numbness in my right foot. My doctor and PT told me that if I didn't do weekly treatments I would have a bulging disc in matter of months. After weeks of PT, I was still experience numbness. It was only when I tried acupuncture at Tiger Med when the numbness went away. As I was nervous to try this, Zach stepped me through how he would treat the source of the pain. Dr.Sandy is an absolute magician. I went years with terrible back pain, having gone to PT sessions, primary doctors to get scans, deep tissue massages, and nothing would really help solve the issue. I was looking for a Myofascial therapy facility which accepts workers comp insurance (apparently this is hard to find) and was excited to stumble across Tiger Med Therapy! After my first phone conversation with Zach, I felt like I was in good hands! He was genuinely concerned and wanted to help in any way he could. He took all my insurance info and contacted them to take care of everything for me. After he confirmed that it could work out with my workers comp insurance, we scheduled an appointment. His availability was great, open all of the times/dates I choose, which worked for my schedule. I pre-completed his paperwork (he has the files online his website for download which makes it very handy!) and when I went in for the first time, he briefly reviewed the info, and asked a couple of questions but there was minimal desk time. He moved right onto the physical assessment. Zach is thorough and very in tune with feeling out my problem areas and immediately honed right in to attack them! So much so that I started calling him a pain magnet! Prior to going to Tiger Med Therapy, I had been to 18 physical therapy appointments + 6 acupuncture sessions with other people/facilities and still didn't feel as good as I felt after treatment with Zach. My first/last acupuncture experience didn't rub me the right way as I am afraid of needles and pain, both of which were a problem before... It was painful with the last place but not with Zach. He was very gentle and explained what was going on as well as continually asked me to confirm that I wasn't in pain or that I was ok. It was pretty much painless! Such an opposite experience. He also tried many other different methods (such as shiatsu, cupping, etc.) which in combination, worked out great for my one hour sessions. I could really feel the difference after each visit. Zach is so knowledgeable and throughout your sessions, he shares his knowledge by explaining everything he is doing and why. I personally don't know much about this stuff so it's very interesting to learn/understand why things may be happening and what he is doing to help. I can really see he has a great passion for his work and it shows by how he treats his patients and what he does for them! Agreed that Zach is an amazing practitioner. He's patient and skilled, and both listens intently to his patients and personalizes care based on their particular needs, and also is very open with sharing his knowledge and experience. I came to Zach on the advice of my boyfriend when I was having some lower back spasm issues. I get really bad spasms periodically - usually at the gym when I execute exercises with poor form. Zach treated me with both dry needling and cupping, as well as a little KT tape. My back eased its contractions within the week, and I decided to continue seeing Zach to treat chronic issues I've had with my left elbow. I was a competitive swimmer in my youth, and a masters swimmer in my adulthood. Approxiately 5-7 years ago, I started having pretty acute pain in my left elbow, which I attribute to swimming overuse. In the last couple years, I've taken up weight lifting, and the elbow pain sometimes rears its head in a pretty intense way. Over the last month, I've seen Zach only a few times, but I find the dry needling and cupping treatment to be quite helpful with releasing the muscles. Personally, I find the dry needling to be fairly challenging to handle... but it's really all in the head. Having a bunch of tiny needles sticking out of you and then having those needles deeply stimulating the muscle with an electrical current is.... weird!! The very first treatment I had to my elbow, I was a little nauseated during the drive home. It felt as though toxins or something had been released into my body. No joke. However, at the same time, I felt like something that was blocked was released, and that my body needed that uncomfortable stimulation in order to heal. Based on a recommendation from a friend, I started going to Tigermed and having Zach work on my (frozen) shoulder last year. I wasn't able to lift my arm without pain and had very minimal range of movement. Within a few months with weekly visits for acupunture, cupping, e-stim, and theragun treatments, I was able to gain 95% range of movement; the last 5% is my fault.
