My wife and I discussed the situation. Do we stay at our current and work with the second best trainer or follow the best trainer.... After our workout this past Monday we decided to do a tour at THE GYM. We walked in and were greated nicely enough. They were a little apprehensive at first but seemed okay. We walked around a bit. We were impressed with the amount of equipment and so much less USELESS FLUFF like other gyms. This place is all about working out. This is awesome. Great. Sooo. my issue that I noticed is the lighting is WAY TOO DIM for proper safety and effectively seeing the function of each piece of equipment let alone seeing your form while using them. Some areas along what I think is the East wall were pitch black. My eyes were not aclimating to their "ambience". I understand the whole shadow and contrast of seeing muscle definition and people not wanting to be on "display" while working out but this lack of lighting is definately not helpful if you need a flashlight to see! At least when we were there, the music wasn't blarring like so many others had complained about, because if my wife can't hear her instructor, we will not be switching. You won't see people sitting on a machine for an hour on their phones not doing even one set. You won't see people leaning against a machine talking for an hr and not working out. Its a serious Gym for Serious people,..not a Happy Hour. I needed a Gym to do my workout quick and go home. The enviroment is very family oriented, very respectful. People come to the Gym to workout. Laura, Hailey and Anthony are all very nice and everyone is super helpful. I've stopped in with my Dog to say hello on the days I'm not working out and, my Dog loves Laura and Haley. I've taken many yoga classes over the years, and I have never left one feeling as hurt and…read moreembarrassed as I did after attending the Hot 60 class with instructor Niru Gupta. I have a very tight back and limited mobility, so there are certain back-strengthening poses such as Cobra, Locust etc I'm simply unable to perform at this point. Toward the end of class, with less than 10 minutes remaining, the class transitioned into a back series. Rather than attempting poses I knew my body couldn't safely do, I quietly moved into Child's Pose and Pigeon Pose to continue stretching and listening to my body, which is something I believed yoga encouraged. Instead of checking in with me privately or asking if I was okay, I was asked to get up and leave the in front of everyone. I was told my poses were inappropriate, that this was not an "flow" series and it was insulting to the rest of the class. It was humiliating and completely contrary to everything I believe yoga represents. Yoga should be a place of acceptance, mindfulness, and meeting your body where it is not a place where you're publicly singled out because you're modifying poses to accommodate your physical limitations. I left the studio almost in tears. Afterward, I spoke with the assistant manager, who was incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional. She listened to my concerns and assured me she would escalate the situation to the head manager, and I truly appreciated the way she handled our conversation. Unfortunately, the experience itself has left such a negative impression that I will not be returning. I also cannot recommend this studio to anyone who views yoga as a safe and welcoming environment for all levels and abilities. My hope in sharing this review is not to attack anyone personally, but to encourage growth. I sincerely hope Niru Gupta reflects on this experience and approaches situations like this differently in the future. Not every student has the same level of flexibility, strength, or experience, and many people attend yoga specifically to improve those limitations. A brief private conversation or simple check-in would have been far more appropriate than publicly asking a student to leave. Every student deserves to feel respected, supported, and safe in a yoga class, regardless of their physical abilities. Sadly, that was not my experience here.

They offer a medical discount that they won't take your license number for, (so if you're a small buisness owner only employee you dont qualify) they offer a set program that they won't contact you for (a program for you to clean the studio once a week which needs to be done sonce women do their hair in studio and you have to pull their hair off of you in every class) so obviously studios are not clean, they offer black friday deals that if you do the intro month you don't qualify for but your account is plastered with the promotion saying no such thing. Here's the things yoga studios are a dime a dozen.

in august 27th, 2024 i had knee replacement surgery. after i completed physical therapy at osr,…read more per my orthopedic surgeon, i signed up for additional physical therapy at vasa.with an employee named brandon, for what i was told was a 4 month period only. the pt was scheduled with a physical therapist, also named brandon, at vasa fitness located on the swc of 32nd street and thunderbird road. the time frame was significant because i was scheduled for my second knee replacement in january 28th, 2025. therefore, i would be unable to continue physical therapy, until recovery to the point of complettion of the orthopedic surgeon's recommended physical therapy required at osr; and then i would probably re-sign if i couldn't continue on my own with what i had learned after the second recovery period. our conversation was important, because he (brandon, sales) knew that i lost my job that october of 2024 due to timing at work and had no income. the printer at the gym didn't work that day, so i couldn't get a copy of the contract we agreed to. he told me he would e-mail it to me. he never did. i asked for it more than once. at the time of contract, i told him the printed copy was important and he promised that he would e-mail it. ultimately, i never received the copy. i had vascular complications and had to go to arizona pain to continue medication to sleep. i am still under a few doctor's care at iya medical for procedures to help with the vascular issues. subsequently, i had the vasa finance department withdraw two payments of $320 or $340 each month out of my account. i believe, prior, that i made a few $80 or $160 (every two week payments), in good faith, as i tried to resolve the financial issue or misunderstanding. i spoke to brandon, sales about what was happening, after payments were made; which, in my view, incorrectly so and asked for the payments to be refunded. he told me it was too late he couldn't do anything about the contract. yet, he saw the surgical scar on my left leg and knew i was on oxycodon... he knew i did not want more than the 4 months treatment contracted for at the time i signed the contract and he assured me there was no problem. i love that gym and was so disappointed. i knew by the look on his face when i told him that he committed fraud and that i would turn him in, he knew and didn't care, which is why i never received a copy of the contract. i told him i was going to turn him in and tried at the time. i live alone and had no help... (it was just too much, until today with this e-mail. i am still very emotional and feel somewhat defeated overall). this was not suppose to happen. i was to remain grateful for my efforts at recovery and the gym that i love. i am disappointed and sad about the lack of integrity of brandon, sales. loved the gym hated the dishonesty of the sales associate brandon.

VASA ENDORSES HARASSMENT I canceled my membership at the…read moreVasa location at Ray & Alma School because I was harassed by an older man while working with my personal trainer. He became angry because I was using a machine "too long" during my workout (20 min for 4 sets on hip thrust, 2 other machines were available). This man followed me around the gym for the rest of my hour-long training session staring at me attempting to intimidate me. I reported this unacceptable behavior to gym management, and they endorsed his actions. My trainer was written up for allowing me to use the equipment "too long", and the individual who harassed me is still allowed to use the facilities. I no longer feel safe working out at Vasa, and I am outraged that no action was taken to address my concerns. This is not a safe place for women to work out.

The owner Brian and coach Cole were so incredibly welcoming, and have taken an immense amount of time over the year to help me achieve my goals in CrossFit. They have created an environment at Magna that truly makes it feel like a home. They are so encouraging, and will pour into you as an athlete if you are willing to put in the work! If it weren't for CrossFit Magna there is no way I would be where I am today in my journey through CrossFit. Whether you are a seasoned cross fitter or a beginner there is a place for you at Magna! Aside from being the best CrossFit gym in phoenix, Magna has changed my life. I have made friends that are family, and I look forward to going there every day!
