Many items are priced so high that you can find the same thing online, have it shipped directly to your door, and still pay less. For donated, used merchandise, the prices should reflect actual market value and condition. I've also had issues with electronics marked "tested." Some appear to have only been checked to see if they power on, because problems become noticeable once you actually use them. If an item is labeled tested, customers should be able to expect that its basic functions have been properly checked. The pricing also seems to be based more on online asking prices than actual sold prices. Asking prices can be significantly higher than what items really sell for. Looking at recent sold listings and pricing donated items reasonably below those amounts would make much more sense. I believe this store would sell more inventory, move items faster, and gain more repeat customers with more realistic pricing. I know I would shop here much more often if the prices were more reasonable. The employees are great. The pricing is what's pushing customers away.

I had spoke with that other employee earlier and she was so sweet and helpful. I can't get behind a business that treats their employees that. Cari needs to work on kindness and probably should be in retail. Also side note, she short changed me.

That could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for. Like an antique mall, it's one big space divided into smaller stalls, and you can more or less tell where each stall ends. The individual stalls might or might not be organized according to a theme -- some are just piled with random used stuff. One of my favorites was toward the middle of the store and included some mineral specimens, fossils, deer antlers, and jewelry, but the prices were a bit high for me. Some of the stalls do seem to be more antique-focused for collectors. There's one that specializes in novelty cookie jars, and another that has a nice selection of Bakelite bracelets for just $5-10 each. There were some Pyrex pieces too, though overpriced. But many of the areas just seemed packed with used clothes, housewares, kids' toys, and random items. I guess that's the "flea market" part. A lot of it is so cluttered and messy that it's just difficult to look through, though. There's probably some good stuff in here, but it needs to be cleaned up and displayed more nicely to really be fun to shop. It's worth a quick stop if you're already here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

Northshore Thrift Store is a celebratory shop that showcases the seasons and products with professional merchandising letting the customer enjoy an elegant atmosphere to enjoy products at reasonable practices. Special sales are scheduled regularly so that people can enjoy more for their dollars. When I took my granddaughter and daughter they were both quite pleased with the finds. Having the opportunity to shop this close to the holidays, we all also enjoyed music, donuts and popcorn. Way to go Northshore.

But once you make it to a town big enough to have a Goodwill, you know you're in luck! The Marysville Goodwill is pretty big and has the usual departments, all decently sized, including a fairly large housewares selection. It seems pretty tidy and organized overall, although there were a few areas with stuff on the floor. Likewise, it seems pretty clean and doesn't have thrift-store smell inside. This store belongs to the Seattle Goodwill family, so anything you buy here can be returned to a Seattle store per the usual return/exchange policy. Good news if you're buying for another person or have severe road-trip fatigue and can't even deal with the fitting room right then. They also follow the same colored-tag discount schedule as the regular Seattle stores. The best part about this store, however, may be the HUGE restrooms! No skimpy single-seaters here -- there's a long row of stalls, clean and nicely maintained, and you don't have to go and pester an employee for a bathroom key. Road trippers, take note!

At first glance, with its sidewalk clothing racks full of all things fun and vintage, it seemed to have potential. So we went inside. Now, I don't mind a semi crowded or even slightly disorganized thrift shop. After all, half the fun is in the hunt, right? But this place took cluttered to a new level. While some areas of the store were fairly organized, others were literally piled with junk. It became not so much a hunt for treasures as it was an effort to just get through the place without tripping over something. I found myself wondering just how long some of these piles had been around, and what sorts of creepy crawlies might be lurking within them. I did my best to wander through and try to find a treasure or two. But after a few minutes I started to feel pretty claustrophobic. When I realized I've watched episodes of Hoarding: Buried Alive that looked eerily similar to this shop, I quickly made my escape. All that being said, they did have some interesting looking finds. They just need either a bigger space or an intervention.
