This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I tried contacting the owner of Goodwill, and I also left a negative Google review. Someone responded and said, "We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry for any inconvenience and discomfort caused, and we're addressing this with management to make sure it doesn't happen again." Well, guess what? Nothing changed. They never tried to improve anything--zero effort. The manager, Drena, is the worst manager I've ever dealt with. She doesn't seem to care about people at all. She didn't care about my health issues and only wanted to control the situation. She's always serious, never smiles, and is never friendly. You can look up my Google review under my name, Jeanette. I'm still working with a lawyer and have a lot of evidence. They called the police on me twice for no reason. It's a long story. What makes it even stranger is that they let other customers use the restroom, but they wouldn't let me use it, even though I have the exact same type of medical card as another customer they allowed to use it. I don't understand what's wrong with some of the workers at Goodwill. Despite the tiny parking lot, they don't even have enough carts for everyone, and they let the people who get in first take multiple carts. Not providing enough carts for all shoppers in a store is pretty ridiculous - don't you want people to buy more stuff? Even if I arrive 30 minutes before they open to wait in line, it's not enough; there are already a bunch of regulars waiting, and it seems like they save places in line for their friends and let them cut. Me and my other coworker came in to shop for some goods when we went to checkout we wanted to get our employee discount . They had called a mod up and she wouldn't let us have our discount even if we had our badge number and id on us .we have came here multiple times without our badge and they still gave it to us . we have never heard this rule before and it really upset us . Becky (mod) seemed very disrespectful towards us about the discount but happily we had another retail worker help us check out we loved her and greeted us with a smile on her face and she apologized for us not getting the discount . NEEDLES...filthy clothes...and employees actively preventing customers from trying to make sure the things they buy aren't covered in stains. Weird. I used to like coming here and have come intermittently over the past 15 years, preferring it over their Seattle location, but lately changes have been made that make finding decent item like finding a needle in a haystack. Literally. Recently I had a needle stick in one of the clothing bins. I brought it to an employee's attention and they didn't really seem concerned. No offer or suggestion was made that I get checked to makes sure I didn't get hepatitis or something as a result. Nothing. The lighting is garbage, so things will look like they're in good shape but you'll get them home only to find out they have stains that weren't visible. In the past if you checked your items very closely with the natural light at the windows it was a lot better. I was recently informed by management that they DO NOT WANT PEOPLE CHECKING ITEMS BY THE WINDOW. So much so that they have put up a barrier by the window "for the shopping carts," but this area remains empty from about 9:00 till close as the carts are all in use, so it's clear what the real purpose is, considering the previous location for the carts was never an issue. Most of the employees are actually really nice and helpful, I don't think this is something they want to be doing, rather it seems to have come down from upper management. I'm guessing if you buy more garbage then that helps their numbers. Yay for corporate greed. Oh yea. There's a weird mystery dust that comes up from the clothes. If you don't wear a mask there's a solid chance you'll be coughing for days after your visit and your lungs will hurt. So. Wear a GOOD mask or sacrifice your lungs. You're essentially dumpster diving through goodness knows what, at a business that doesn't care about your safety, while they actively work to ensure that you buy their actual garbage. You may find a treasure. You may find a needle. You will likely spend more time than it's worth finding that "treasure," and when you get home you'll likely see stains or damage that wasn't visible when it was in the store. I've been here multiple times, and it has been an okay experience. It is hectic during the daytime, so I recommend coming earlier in the day to be able to find parking. There are pretty many bins to go through, but you must battle with other customers or resellers. When the new bins came in, people would wait until they were set, but I would stay until people searched them to avoid the chaos. Also, prices are based on weight rather than item, so that is a plus. read more

Went here for the first time this week. I had been to a goodwill outlet before but it was almost 20 years ago and at a different location. This is the closest location to me which is about an hour and 20 min drive, would be nice if they had a closer location. The parking lot is quite small so be prepared to maybe wait for a parking spot. Luckily my mom was with me so she waited for a spot while I went inside, she got lucky and got a parking spot pretty quick because several people were waiting for one. Once your inside there are giant bins mostly full of clothing. They also have shoe bins, but they aren't always out and some bins with toys and random items. Everything is by the pound so you can get a really good deal. Clothing and shoes were $1.79 a pound. They rotate the bins every so often 2 rows at a time, it seemed to be about every hour they did the rotations. Big crowds of people line up when they bring the bins out to be the first to go through them so it gets a little crazy. It all seemed very organized though and the employees were nice and all the shoppers were well behaved because I have heard some horror stories. Since most people are busy waiting and looking through the new bins it can be pretty easy to have a bin to yourself if you don't wanna be near everybody else. Some people stay here all day and just wait for the new bins to come out. Not sure how they do that, after 4 hours here I was exhausted. It is also just very overwhelming but a fun experience too. Be prepared that most the stuff here is junk, but there are also treasures to be had. I got a good haul of 29lbs of clothing including a couple nice pairs of shoes. You push your cart up on this big scale to weigh it. They have nice public restrooms as well. I'll start by saying, I've read through reviews here so knew this place was chaos.. but will say to actually see it first hand is still a little eye opening. I have some experience as a reseller, as I've sold my personal stuff on sites like poshmark for a couple years now. Maybe there are other sites or programs out there that take more junk than the stuff in good condition i'm used to seeing sold on poshmark, otherwise I don't fully understand what the resellers are getting out of this place. Yes, there are gems to be found I'm sure but I'm venturing to say 80-90% of what I saw were basic, walmart/target or mid-tier brands, a lot of it in ratty shape. So I'm not sure what the people going rabid, filling up their carts the second a new bin comes out are doing with the stuff. Sending it to relatives back home in a foreign country maybe I suppose? This is some peoples full time job though I guess, looks like some people literally hang out here all day, waiting for new bins to come out then moving over to the side with their cart and waiting for the next one. Don't come here looking for most of these fellow shoppers to have any sort of etiquette. I got second hand embarrassment in the fact that the workers were having to bark at some of these people when new bins came out to keep their hands off until they yelled "ok shop". The desperation to be the first one to touch a new bin was a real energy here. Then the throwing, shoving and elbowing begins... and this was in the middle of the day on a weekday, I can't imagine what a weekend is like. It was like Black Friday, except for used junk (aside from the 5-10% of stuff that maybe qualifies as a gem or real steal). I came looking for kids books and housewares, which on this particular day maybe there was very little of. Spent 5+ hours thrifting and ended up having my cart stolen within seconds of having my back turned. Spent another 10 minutes looking for it to no avail, and the manager couldn't help me. If I were petty enough, I would've stood at the register and waited for the person who took it - but I didn't have the time. If karma is real, I can only hope the person who stole my cart gets some. As for the outlet, it's decent and they bring out new bins pretty often. There are regulars that come in who will be pushy/in your space/grab things out of your hands; my advice is to avoid them. Be sure to keep an eye on everyone around you and bring a rope to keep your cart attached to you at all times. With these precautions, you could easily spend all day in there and find some great things.. And remember, it's every man for themselves at the Goodwill Outlet. read more

Everett Outlet Goodwill - A thrifters dream come true. - Thrift Stores Near Me - Everett, Washington

Holy tadpoles, Frogman -- this place is amazing. I read the reviews on here and expected a really scary and gross experience. It wasn't that bad at all. It is true that you have to sort through the bins, but I considered that like hunting for big game. Any time you go hunting, you have to have the right equipment. It's the same thing when hunting through Goodwill -- Goodwill hunting, if you will. If you don't have gloves with you, make sure to bring hand sanitizer because you will need it. I will explain to you why I give GWO such a glowing review. We ended up going twice in one day and then a third time the next day, and found amazing things all three times. I went looking for a dress to wear to my bridal shower, and found one - in addition, I found about 10 other pieces of clothing that were in awesome condition. I also found an amazing leather sofa in near perfect condition for $6.99. I wasn't expecting to find something like that, but I knew I had to have it. Now, that my friend is a trophy thropping find! I also found a nice, brand new pair of shoes to go with my bridal shower dress. Now, for me going thropping (thrift store shopping) is not about finding the perfect thing each time one goes out, but it's about the hunt for said perfect thing. I was impressed that each cash register had a cashier, that the merchandise was steadily rotating, and the customers were so cooperative. With the exception of one rude lady, I struck up several conversations with my fellow hunters, and found myself sharing some of the treasured I'd unearthed. I love that they switch out the bins throughout the day, and it works like a well-oiled machine. I also appreciate the sorting tables they put at the side of the room, and in addition, the layout is fairly well-organized. In conclusion, I give this place 5 stars because, even though the customer has to do the work in finding and sorting through the stuff, we are rewarded quite handsomely with some dang good buys. Oh yeah, and the total amount I spent on all three trips was $23. That sofa on it's own would have sold for $100 in other thrift stores, but I got it for $6. We attended the grand opening (we're hardcore like that). The building is huge and new, with lots of parking. Only about 1/3 of the building is where you can buy stuff, the rest must be offices. Unlike the downtown outlet, because this location is so new, it's bright, open, and CLEAN. (Don't worry, you won't feel clean after you rummage a bit.) There are several bins for toys, clothes, electronics, housewares, etc. Things are bought by the pound or per piece (for books or electronics). Nice staff working, especially during this crazy event. The loudspeaker announced that the bins were being traded out, so please step back. Lots of people didn't (they were asked nicely personally) and when the bins were being brought out, staff were standing by them to ensure no one pinched their fingers before they were locked in place. Once the bins were secure, people dove in like mad! I've never seen that before, so that was interesting. My great find for today? A vintage Samsonite Silhouette bag in mustard yellow, nearly perfect condition (just missing the key to the lock). I love this place! I love hunting for items my son and family need, and I love hunting for items that I can resell for a profit. The first time I went, I was completely overwhelmed! Crazy fast shoppers jumping at every new bin coming out.....I get the system now and I roll along with it. Lots of fun digging for that diamond in the rough. Bring gloves, pull your hair back, leave your rings at home, you'll thank me later, lol. I'm trying to find a rhythm with the goods, what days what items are available....clothing vs bags vs shoes etc. the days rotate as to what category is up for sale on a particular day. I have so many things to say about this place. First thing is that this place has saved me hundreds of dollars on everything from household items, books, clothes furniture and more. Almost everything is paid for by the pound, so most things I end up getting is only pennies! I constantly am finding big name brand clothes that I will buy even if they aren't my size, just because it's such a ridiculous deal to pass up! I also find a lot of household goods for cheap that I tend to fix up and give it new life. I go here at least once a month and my friends and I have dubbed it "treasure hunting". The downfall is that it's dirty and messy. I am very careful of who I bring here because I don't want them to judge my favorite spot. Lol if you come here I highly recommend wearing at least some sort of gloves. Some people wear masks too, but if anything bring gloves. While digging through the bins you don't know what you might touch. the clothes are separated in bins, but it's not separated by men's/women's/children/ or even sizes for that matter. Sorting through the clothes can take up time so be prepared if that's what you're looking for. Everything else is separated by category: shoes, household items, toys, electronics, linens, books, movies etc They constantly are changing out the bins throughout the day so just when you think you've searched through all of the bins, they switch them on you! You could easily spend all day every day here as stuff is constantly being switched out. Next door they have a furniture section where everything is incredibly cheap. I will often times take things home, sand, paint and sell. The parking lot is bad. There's hardly any parking and spots fill up quickly. People will be waiting in their cars for a spot forever and will follow you to your car if they suspect you're leaving. Just a tip: if you are there when they bring out the shoes bin, STAND CLEAR out of the way. Shoes are extremely popular and people will line up ready to go for them. Once the bins are in place and the staff give the okay to go, everyone dives in and grabs as much shoes as they can and throws them into their cart. It's almost as if they are starving and are all fighting for the last piece of bread. It's super ridiculous, so don't get caught in the middle of that. Instead take that opportunity to go over to another bin that might have been crowded before. Another thing about having a shopping cart. KEEP YOUR EYES ON IT AT ALL TIMES. Well crapola. I spent $57 here easily. Prices are based on the weight of your items - per lb. The bins are changed pretty frequently - they have a good process for changing the bins and it seems like the regulars are well-versed in it. They have unposted rules to stand back when the workers unload new stuff, till the workers leave the area. I went here for the first time with my mom and she offered me gloves which I turned down - Man, what a mistake. I would totally recommend wearing gloves - you'll thank me later, I promise. They have sections for clothes, electronics, accessories and misc. They are marked with ease so you can navigate through the chaos that is this place on a daily basis. They have sorting tables that have a 20 min limit so you can look through the possible items you want to purchase. I had a cart and I just wheeled it onto the giant weight machine by the cashier - I had to bag all my clothes myself - she just handed me the bags and I wheeled my cart to my car and bagged it there. People seem to be a little nicer here, but the kids running around is a bit much - they had to make multiple announcements over the intercom to get people to control their children. I'm starting to understand the nuances between the different Goodwill Outlets in the greater Seattle area. This one is my preferred spot because it is cleaner, possibly bigger, more variety, and I'd put money on odds that you are the least likely to get shanked here compared to other Goodwill Outlets. Some people don't understand why this place is awesome, and that's ok, they can stay home. If you're like me, strap on your rubber gloves and don't leave the car running; there's gold in them there hills [of junk] and we're gonna be here awhile. If I can offer one key piece of advice, it's to be friendly to the other shoppers. It's part of the experience. You're looking for backpacks, I'm looking for flashlights, we help each other out and we both find a friend. #HighFive Also, if this is your first time, have someone you trust with you or on-call...not for your safety, but to help you filter through your treasures before you go to checkout. I went to the outlet for the first time today and I cannot believe what I was missing out on!! I found a very gently used pair of boots, two really cute large tote bags (both lightly used), two brand new belts (retail $16 from Macy's), and two scarves (practically new condition). ALL that for $8.03 with tax. At the regular Goodwill I would have paid $8.00 for the boots alone. Almost everything is priced by pound (except furniture). The shoes & accessories are priced at $1.09, and the house wares are 0.49. If you are willing to dig a little and be patient, you will find AWESOME stuff here. Just don't get overwhelmed but the shear amount of product they have, and stay focused on what you are looking for. Considering that this is the Goodwill OUTLET, I thought that the bins were nicely organized and that the store was well kept. I did not bring gloves with me and I didnt have any problem digging in the bins; I washed my hands when I got home but I really didn't think it was bad. Also, for the ladies I would recommend not bringing a purse with you, just put some cash, cell phone and car keys in pockets that have a zipper. That way you don't have to worry about it getting stolen or losing it while you rummage through the bins. The other people who were shopping were the same crowd that you would see at any Goodwill. In case anyone is wondering, it wasnt filled with homeless people or even people who were very obviously below the poverty line. I felt that it was mainly middle class people looking to buy things to resell. There were also moms and families with their children who looked like they were shopping for themselves. Personally, I am comfortably middle class but I have no shame in shopping at a place like this, nor do i think anyone should! This review will be similar to my review for the SODO Goodwill Outlet Store, except for a few differences between the two locations. Don't go here if you're a germaphobe. It's not clean, there's usually a musty smell, and sometimes you'll even touch some unknown moist substance in the bin. This store is an excellent case of you get what you pay for. Currently I think the price of clothes are around $1.49/lb, that means that scarf you might pay $3-5 for at the normal Goodwill store will only be 10 cents at this store. Toys are 49 cents/lb, books are 29 cents for soft covers and children's books, 49 cents for hardbacks. If you'd prefer to pay more to have your clothes organized and neatly displayed, then go to the normal Goodwill store. Yes things are broken, unorganized, and sometimes dangerous (watch out for knives and things that might electrocute you). And there are people who will fight with you over something in a bin, but just give it up, it's not worth it. I roll my eyes at the people grabbing armfuls of books to take over to a corner to scan ISBNs because let's be realistic, the books with ISBNs are donations from bookstores that already have a hundred other copies of the same book. Even if the book is in good condition it won't be worth more than a dollar, so just ignore their smug looks like they are so much smarter than everyone else because they bought a scanner. That being said, I love this place. In my opinion the Everett Outlet Store is cleaner (because it just opened within the last year), but I don't feel it has as good of an assortment as the SODO location. But maybe it's just that the Everett store is smaller, or I'm imagining things. I also have noticed that at the Everett store it's much harder to find a cashier. If they're changing bins, they must take all the employees because you won't be able to find someone to ring you up until after the bin change fiasco is complete. One time an announcement came over the speakers that said "all employees to the staff lounge". I ran up to the cashier and paid before that employee walked away because I didn't want to hang around waiting for them to come back. The key to the Goodwill Outlet stores is to use common sense: If you walk up to a bin and it smells significantly worse than the other bins, just pass that one over. If someone is giving you grief, ignore them and walk away. If the cashier charges you the price of a hardcover book for a children's book, it's not worth arguing over. And always thoroughly wash everything you buy right away. read more

You don't come in here expecting the place look like Nordstrom or Saks. The first time I walked in here, I thought I was in a landfill somewhere in Africa, Asia or South America. Lots of immigrants with their entire clan, digging through some weird looking stuff in bins. But why did I give it 5 stars? Because if you go there with the mindset that the place is where you roll up your sleeves, put your gloves on, and hunt for awesome bargains, you get it. You simply get it. People who don't want to spend a fortune and have patience to go through other people's garbage go here. I do. And I love it! You pay per lb, not per item. This is the weirdest Goodwill I have ever been in, but they have some amazing stuff if you dig deep enough. I love going though the bins finding vintage and antique items- especially books! Although some of the customers are overly enthusiastic and act like wild animals tearing through bins. I try to stay clear of the hordes. Pro tip: try to wear gloves when looking through bins too. We thought it was incredibly sad that a family's entire photo album was in a 10 cent bin at Goodwill, so my friend decided to buy the album so we could try to find the family and see if they still wanted the photos. We went to cash out, and our cashier, Martha L. snatched the album out of my friends hands, threw it in the TRASH, and called us both perverts because we 'were buying photos of children.' Best shopping experience of my life. I have 7 kids ranging in age from 2 to 18 so it was easy to find something for everyone. After reading reviews last night, I headed to the store with my gloves anticipating filth and nastiness but it really wasn't that bad at all (probably mainly the SODO store). The people were hilarious to watch when the new bins were rolled out. My 15 yr. old son looked highly amused as he watched them. I walked out with 5 huge garbage bags full plus a rolling suitcase for $50. Oh!!! Almost forgot to add that I also found a Burberry messenger bag and a Louis Vuitton wallet! I love this place. The thing you got to keep in mind when you go here is that it is UNSORTED. If your somebody who finds a normal, sorted thrift store gross? Do not try this place. Basically, you've got bins and bins of stuff and most everything is priced by the pound. The other day, I found a nice toy ball that I got for 5 cents. Yes, a nickle is all I had to pay for something you see on a shelf new for four or five dollars. Just keep in mind that anything you buy should be washed after you buy it, and that some times people can get a bit...defensive. Like Amanda R. said, just back off. There's probably something lurking in the next bin over that's just as perfect. If not, come back another day. The only complaint I have that I didn't expect (like the people or the dirt) is the parking lot. People will often block you in because they are loading stuff, and not move for a good ten minutes. It's narrow, leaving little room, and I've heard quite a few people complaining about dents and miscellaneous damage after parking there. Don't drive your nice car with a nice paint job, and park as far away as you can and still feel comfortable. Oh! And I'd recommend bringing gloves, if you are squeamish. No one will look at you twice, unless they are regretting not bringing a pair of their own.... read more

Wow who knew such a place existed? A second hand of a second hand store yipes. This place has a constant changeover of large very unorganized carts filled with random stuff, clothes,toys,kitchenware,books etc etc. Prices are dirt cheap they sell by the pound like ground beef. I looked around for an hour and couldnt find anything but my wife loves places like this and bought some xmas decor, office stuff and home decor stuff all for 92 cents. Parking is packed and customers in here are a little left of center, a unique experience for sure. read more
